Hopping after work drinks taproom. 100 bottles, and 15 local taps. Pretty loud and jammed at happy hour. Food was great. Order at the bar.

I came into this 11.am, opening bar to wash down the big breakfast I had at a restaurant on the viaduct. It was quiet, only 1 other patron, reading the morning news and racing guide. There's a great selection of boutique beers on tap, but I was hoping for something more local like Lion Red or DB Bitter. Back in the day, I'm talking 70's & 80's. These were the brands. I settled for a pint of Pale Ale. Nice drop coz I had a second before I left. Definitely recommend a stopover for a quick 1 or 2.👍

I like Brew on Quay. It’s a free house so you can be assured there’s always a good selection of craft beers on tap without having to only stock the mainstream beers that the 2 big beer companies dictate. There’s interesting views while you drink. Outside you can watch and comment on the cars that go past. Inside there are cosy corners aplenty. The service is always good - friendly and helpful. My reason for knocking them down a star is the food. It’s pub food, which is great. But it could be a little better. The fries were a bit tasteless and needed salt; the bagel needed some texture to complement the BLT. I still recommend this place, particularly if you’re after a nice craft brew.

We are visiting from Australia and our first main meal in Auckland was this great little pub. The staff were great to deal with and honest in that I accidently left my bag behind with all my personal stuff in it. Came back the following day and the young girl behind the bar remembered me and said that they had my bag and returned it with everything still in it. We were so impressed we have returned again before we travel on with the rest of our holiday. Highly recommend this place.

Hired the rooftop bar for my 40th birthday and can’t speak highly enough of the service and communication from the staff here. All emails promptly responded to and nothing that we asked for was an issue. The bartender on the night was excellent and worked hard to ensure everyone had a great time. The venue has a great vibe and being able to have the roof off was awesome. Definitely recommend to anyone needing a venue.

Brew on Quay was a lovely pub. The interior has a really comfortable feel and they have a great range of craft beers available. The food selection was good and it was tasty. The staff were lovely and happy to help guide you through the beer selection.

My favorite beer stops in Auckland. They have some pleasing choices and a bar for those who are not interested in beer. It gives a very European feel and we love it. The pancakes (they took 1 pint and 1 pie) looked great-both fresh and hearty. Even if you don't have time for a drink, stop and enjoy the cosy atmosphere. They even had a table or two outside and had a great day.

We went here at 6pm on a Thursday in November and it was busy but tables were available. They have a large space with 2 floors plus outside tables. The drink menu is extensive with many beer choices plus wine and cocktails. The food menu is small but varied. We ordered a pasty and a cheeseburger. The burger was cooked well done and came with mustard and mayo. There was ketchup on the side but I needed more for my fries. The French fries were like short steak fries but they were crispy and hot.

Great location and vibe. A large group of us went for dinner and they coped well. While the beer Iist is impressive and my IPA was tasty, I highly recommend the food. Everyone at our table was impressed and I found the steak and cheese pie of the day with parsley mash truely scrumptious. I would go back just for that, and another IPA of course.

I have the big deck energy and my partner had an espresso martini. Everything was very good. We had the fries and calamari and both were good.

I was looking for a nice place to have a few drinks on a Friday night in Auckland CBD and I hit gold. There was a live band on Friday evening and I enjoyed it so much just having a few drinks and listening to the music. The band was very good! The staff and I think the owner were very friendly and tried to help me choose some beers. Had a fun night, I would recommend!

Work group end of day lunch. Group of 6. Food: they had a lunch special for $15.00, sirloin steak w/chips or mash and a salad. A couple of us had the scotch fillet w/chips and gravy, we also had the cheese burger and fish'n'chip. Great value! Steaks cooked perfection. The specials were great value and delicious. Also had the squid rings - loved the hot sauce. I was pleasantly surprised at prices as they were reasonable for food as usually city bars tend to be exaggeratly expensive. Atmosphere was nice (I'm not a pub person) and clean. Spacious and plenty of room for functions. places to sit outside and water front views. Friendly staff and great service. What I really liked was the absence of loud or overwhelming music. We could converse and hear each other. I would return and would highly recommend to all!

Came the the Brew on Quay just before a concert and the staff were super helpful and lovely despite the place being pretty busy. Amazing service and even better were the wedges. They were stacked up with cheese, chilli jam and sour cream, plus, being vegetarian, this was the first time I never had to order wedges 'without the bacon' as the dish was already veggie! This place is great and definitely somewhere I'll be returning to when in town.

The Lamb shank was amazing! The softness and juiciness of the meat, woven with a rich flavor of lamb really hit home! We also got the Angus Scotch and a side of French fries, which were more than enough to make my friend and I full. The scotch was cooked perfectly to medium-rare as requested, and the parmesan topped on the French fries really added an extra layer of fancy to the side dish. Great vibes and lots of rustic, comfy decorations on the walls as well. Would recommend!

Caught up with friends for several hours. Nothing wrong with the food at all - it's typical pub food and if fried is your thing you'll love it. Good selection of beers and some nice private rooms available.

The rooftop area, booked for my friends 30th, was excellent. A private bar and barman made sure all guests were well looked after and the birthday girl had a fantastic time. Awesome spot to drink and celebrate!

Great vibe the soundtrack is awesome I need it for my next party!!! The pies are delicious too it’s a great spot to look at the port; we stopped by because we were trying to see if our van was unloaded from the ship so finding this beautiful pub was an absolute bonus.

We came for a farewell party. We booked on of the rooms on the ground floor. They also do have a restaurant with seating on the other end of the building. The bar has a large selection of alcohol and they also have an interesting selection of food. It was a nice place to socialise but can get quite loud.

Look guys, we love the Brew. In fact, we love the Brew so much such that we pretty much go there for all of our regular team catch-ups and after-work drinks, but we REALLY need you guys to bring back the jalapeno poppers, waffle cut fries, and maybe the buffalo wings (that were just single small wings versus the big whole wings???). Love you guys though, I'll still be turning up but man, would love at least the jalapeno poppers coming back.

Wonderful bar- Visited just after the lunch rush and had a very simple lunch that was tasty and well-made. The beer was good and the location was very nice. Wonderful service.

I can't review any higher than this. Our food took an hour to come out and with two hungry kids it was close to the worst lunch ever. We had to get to Disney on Ice but thought an hour 15 would be enough time to order, get our food, finish it and leave, it wasn't. The kids ordered nachos and they wouldn't touch it, chunks of beef rather than mince and too spicy for them. Our friend had a slug in her salad (they refunded her for it). It was a busy afternoon and the staff were doing their best, but I have to be honest about our experience, very disappointing

Nice place with an amazing selection of beers! Had a steak, which was great for pub grub, and the service was great and friendly. Amazing place to swing by on your way to an event at spark arena 😉

Lovely old English-looking pub. Good craft beer taps. Excellent, helpful, friendly staff. Weekly specials on food are excellent. Well worth a look.

A great spot! Came with no expectations for a pre gig bite to eat, beers & co. Well, the food was great BUT the service was outstanding, Zoe, made us welcome from the moment we walked in and her personable manner was amazing, like we were VIP. Wow! We will be back for sure!

A friend had his 40th in a private room upstairs. The bar staff were super friendly and remembered our names and what we were drinking. The menu is pub grub and delish and I was surprised how quickly it came out. Thank you brew on quay for a wonderful day.

I had the chicken schnitzel and my partner had the pork belly sando-both divine! Drinks were good and the service was awesome! Atmosphere was pretty loud and busy but it was a Saturday night in Auckland so that’s probably what you’d expect! Would definitely recommend a visit, maybe for lunch if you prefer it a little quieter but overall it was awesome!

What a gem! beautiful character, so laid back, awesome prices, I mean check this out, Wednesday lunchtime $14.95 I think for a steak meal and it satisfied a grumpy, picky old man. Such great service, wait what else! um, check out the height of the ceiling, so cool in summer, ok that's it

We went to Brew twice on our short trip to NZ. Our server was super friendly and helpful. And very knowledgeable about the beers available. So, five stars for superior customer service.

  • 3/5 George W. 1 year ago on Google
Beer selection was good, and wait staff were friendly and helpful. Food was a bit underwhelming however - the cheeseburger was very dry and we got a flat white that was more like a fluffy - so much foam! The fish sliders had hardly any fish in them

Good vibe n friendly staffs. Good selection of beers but the burger we ordered was mediocre at best. Certainly not worth the price (not that price was particularly high).

Thurs evening visit. Tables full outside, inside a lot quieter. Covid pass required which was expected and bar service to table. A good range of beers and typically priced in line with my experience with most city bars and location.

Beer list is great. Staff are friendly and professional. Each of the ones with whom I spoke across two visits was knowledgeable about quite an array of the beer list. Recommendations were. Spot-on! The reason for four stars, not five is the food. Meals were perfectly adequate. Not great, fine. Beverages are the stars of the show. Monday is quiz night.

Great little pub with lots of NZ Craft Beers. Irish barman definitely knows his stock and both front bar staff were awesome for service with a smile.

5 stars! Such a great bar and venue, always had awesome times here. The staff are amazing, super friendly and helpful, remembering your orders and providing such a great vibe. The live music is always great too, so many singalongs. Thanks heaps for an awesome evening team :)

Good vibe, plenty of beer selection but the experience ends there. The food is super questionable, ordered the double wagyu burger and the sandwich was a disaster. The patties were paper thin, completely dried, overcooked, uneatable. Luckily the hostess was kind enough to replace the meal with something she recommended which was a steak pie and it was decent. Overall good for hangout and have drinks.

We came here for a quick bite to eat between meetings. It was mid afternoon and a lot of places were closed but we popped in to Brew on Quay and the staff there were super helpful. The bartender took our orders in record time and practically sprinted back to the table for drinks orders. Our food and drink was ready in around 5 minutes which was phenomenal as we had limited time for food. It was no problem for the spectacular team at Brew on Quay! All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Thanks so much, we will be back.

Had our end of season event here for women's football team. Brew on Quay reserved us a nice little space, set it up perfectly for us and were incredibly accommodating all night. Great service and will be back!

Lovely pub with a cosy interior and furnishings. Super friendly bar staff who came to our table to take our food order and even delivered it to us when cooked. The pie offer is great value with a glass of wine or beer. The beef pot pie was delicious, hearty and a huge portion. When I went to pay I was invited to join the pie club and trust me if I were a local, I'd be a member. Consider me a honorary one!

The steak was nice but no more than that. They have a nice selection of 🍻 and spirits. The service was slopy: we were sitting in the sun for more than half an hour before someone came and offer to close the roof.

Delicious burgers and friendly staff! We went on a trivia night, and although we arrived too late to participate, we had a great time trying to guess the answers. Also appreciated the diverse drink menu. There were lots of things to try, and our waiter was easily able to give us recommendations based on what we liked.

I was very well treated, food was fast and delightful, beers on tap (local) and bottles (more international, Belgian stuff) are indeed a nice selection.

Randomly popped in here as a muppet Australian tourist and was thrilled with the experience. Even came back as a last meal on the way to the airport. Fish and chips is lightly battered with a moist finish. Lots of great hazy craft beers. Staff are warm and friendly. Do yourself a favour and turn up.

Brew on Quay is an incredible restaurant in Auckland! The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff immediately make you feel welcome. The menu offers a wide variety of delicious dishes, from juicy burgers to fresh seafood. The craft beer selection is outstanding, making it a perfect spot for beer enthusiasts. Highly recommend!

Don’t come here for food. Used to be some of the best pub food around but has really gone down hill. $10 for a ‘garden salad’ that’s just a bowl of shredded lettuce, everything over cooked, burgers coming without toppings listed on the menu. Sad.
