First time going out on a Saturday night since the pandemic began, as well as my first time going to DingDong. It was a nice atmosphere and the staff were friendly, bathrooms were surprisingly clean, and some guy twice my age and half my height hit on me. And to top it all off, I tested positive for covid 3 days later, and considering I had never been in such close contact with other people since before the pandemic, I'm pretty certain I caught it here. So thank you Ding Dong for not only providing a good time, but getting me a week off of work.

I've not been to a live music pub in a while, but I feel that this was one of the best nights out. Went on a Friday night. Made new friends including band members. Had a cracking night.

Awesome hidden away bar. Great music. Would like to hear a bit more classic rock & less heavy rock. Otherwise, great atmosphere, fun bar & great DJs. We've been a few times when visiting Auckland. More recently to Bowie night on Saturday. We were under the impression that Bowie music would be played until 4am by 2 different DJs. When the first Dj finished around 11.30 the Bowie music pretty much stopped & the good dancing vibe stopped also. Up until then it was a great night. We'll be back next Auckland visit.

As a metal head, I'm annoyed at myself for not coming here sooner. This place is brilliant. Cheap beer, great music, awesome atmosphere. You bet ill be back

I come to Ding Dong with a friend of mine everytime I'm in Auckland and usually its a really good time. Last night unfortunately was a bad experience. We both bought tickets to Goth Night, and we were really looking forward to it. We weren't in there long before the bouncer came to me and told me that I had to leave because I apparently grabbed a bartender. I did no such thing! I don't know if I got mistaken for someone else or what, but I had to leave without seeing any of the bands that i paid for. I feel like I should try pursue a refund but have no idea of how to do that. I feel bad for the low rating because usually we have such a great time here, but getting thrown out because of a mistaken identity or some other reason where I wasn't at fault is inexcusable. We don't get to go out often so this was very upsetting. It ruined our whole night

Second time at the Bowie night and about the 4th time at Ding dong! Really enjoy the general vibe here. It's cozy with booths and also a small dancing area. Did not eat here so can't speak to that. Great little bar to vibe in.

Very nice place with lovely character and band. Nice music rock n roll while very chill at the same time. Absolutely lovely 🌹 will definitely come back again.

I now want to dig under my house to have my own Ding Dong Lounge! So good!

The comedy events are good although it's a shame that after so many years they haven't learnt that people can find the layout plus notice confusing. To illustrate: the notice will say that there's comedy in Ding Dong, a person arrives, sees a large room with nothing happening and leaves without realising that they're meant to walk upstairs and turn right to find the smaller room. I have no idea why they blast people with UV-rays as they walk upstairs. The upstairs room with the comedy has a good ventilation system.

Friendly staff and good atmosphere. Awesome bands were playing at the venue. I went to Punk night. I love Lipstick Cherry and High-Voltage are pretty cool bands. I recommend to all.

It's awesome that Ding-dong is in Auckland for the rock and metal folks. It's a fairly small venue with a great bar downstairs with a dj or a solo act playing and a stage and bar upstairs for bands. The staff are friendly and helpful and the prices were great, especially happy hour and house lager. Nice one Ding-dong for that. If there room for improvement, the a/c upstairs is below par on a hot evening. Wear light clothing. Now call me a audio purist, but imo the PA is only average for bands and for the dj downstairs. While it's OK for most is far from the best I've heard. It would be awesome to be blown away not just by the bands but the fantastic sound system and I'm not referring to how loud the music is but it's clarity. Overall still a great place to hang out.

The moment I walked in the atmosphere was perfect, Worth the trip from Hamilton to have a great night out. Will for sure be back in future.

A great place to come and experience live music in the heart of the city. I went last Thursday to see Fools Lagoon perform and release some of their new music. The atmosphere was great and the sound was awesome!

Good crowd and atmosphere. There are two floors, and drinks are reasonably priced. The music wasn't very diversed when we were there as they only played metal and a few punk songs. Seems that this is primarily a local spot, but we had a good time!

One time my friend invited me here to join a gig with a mosh pit upstairs and all. I instead sat drunk in the lobby and ate like 3 of the korean hot dogs they sold because of how amazing they were. Come here if you get hungry when you drink, you will NOT regret it

I only go here for gigs. It's not too bad but find it can be hit and miss. The downstairs bar area doesn't really interest me unless I'm catching up with friends after a gig there. Usually same music playing and a more younger crowd depending on the night.

A rock lovers home away from home. Great music, awesome staff and the best people to hang out with.

I'm surprise to find a Gothic hangout bar, it was good night out but wasn't great experience, the gig that we went said tickets available at door but we found out all sold out even we're hrs b4 the gig started bit disappointed but still a great bar

Great atmosphere, definitely recommend this place to chill out with your mates and see local bands, especially if you're into rock music. Staff were very accommodating as well and super easy to get along with (shout-out to Ethan!). It was my first time visiting this bar, loved the experience, definitely won't be the last :)

Fun playing up at "Dead Witch" not a bad little venue...

It is great to have a venue where you can hear live bands. it is very intimate and has a good vibe about it. meet interesting people and hear great music. Shame it could not a little bigger, but then our City does not allow for that expansion where it is currently based . But recommend if you are looking for something different, and want to hear music, that you may have not heard before.

Cool city bar with Tuesday Comedy. We enjoyed it tonight and thanks for the fried chicken.

Went for a comedy night where the offer was a portion of free chicken with a min 1 drink. It's a super small venue so we offered to share the other 2 seats on our table to a couple that didnt have a spot. The show started and they brought out 1 serving of chicken so we told the waitress we are actually 2 tables but sharing due to lack of space she replied pretty rudely that this is all the chicken she made and there was more pollo 🤷‍♀️... we left shortly after considering we had bought at least 4 drinks.

Favourite rock bar in the city, staff members are always friendly and the atmosphere is always great - always feel safe and ding Dong is always my go to when I’m in the city! Would highly recommend!

This place is wonderful! I went to Ding Dong Lounge yesterday with my two sons and my wife. We had a wonderful night with tons of beer. Totally recommend this lounge to everyone in Auckland.

A happy place for everyone.. great beer and whiskey selection plus awesome sounds .. seriously like an extended family .. can’t recommend Ding Dong Lounge any higher ..
