Nice spot and cool vibe but that's about it with the positives. Showed up to our booking of 9 people at a table with 7 seats. The group next to us of 6 people with the same seating arrangement got moved to a bigger table that could've easily fitted all 9 of us comfortably but no we had to make do with 2 tables pushed together. Attached is a photo of the buttermilk chicken as it came to me straight from the kitchen. This cost me $17 which is absolutely ridiculous for the amount of food on the plate. Safe to say I felt ripped off as soon as I saw it. Would not recommend if you're looking for somewhere with decent food and good customer service.

Great place and there are enough seats for many people. Food: Great generally with good presentation. Fries are a little disappointing. Service: Friendly staff and well prepared for the guest. Important things were well informed. Environment: Great indoor and outdoor option.

Edit: deleting reviews is pretty average guys. Not recommended for calm chill tables who don't want to be harassed by security. Honestly get your security under control. We were a calm 5 person seated table and security harassed us from 930 because of a hat rule. The man they harassed was drinking a corona zero in khakis and a golf hat. We were there from 530 pm and ready to leave anyway. 3 times this loser came to us, please explain to security how to deal with calm paying customers. Deal with your service, this was unbelievable.

We celebrated my partners 30th birthday in October on a Friday night in Sweat Shops Velvet Room (private function room) and let me tell you, what a bloody awesome night! Booking process with Belinda was stress free, could not have had a better person to help plan our function. Customer service from both her and the team (bartenders and waitresses) were 100/10. Food was beautiful. A lot of our guests were blown away with the actually event space and the food. I had alot of guest stop drinking to eat all the pizzas, so to the chefs thank yous so much for putting together the best spread. Can’t recommend this place enough and look forward to hosting more events at Sweatshop. Beautiful people and beautiful space, definitely will be back so thank you!

We held a private event at Sweat Shop Brew Kitchen and we adored it! The service was flawless. The team went above and beyond to make sure our event was a success. Their attention to detail, cocktails, snacks & coffee were all impressive. We will definitely be back!!!

Popped in two weeks ago for the chicken n waffles event done the first Saturday of the month. Simple but done really well. The chicken was so tasty, moist and coating just the bees knees!!! The accompanying maple syrup was awesome along with the buttermilk waffles. If you can, get in there and fill ya boots!!

Went during the day for a few pints and a snack. Had a great experience. Multiple people came to check on me and it was just a nice place.

The kind of place you want to be on a nice, sunny day. Good selection of beers on tap. Food was spot on. Would definitely return on my next visit to Auckland!

Average service from as soon as we walked in. Staff rather polish glasses than acknowledge or serve customers. Doesn't take alot to shoot a smile or an eyebrow lift. Anywho won't be rushing back. Glad it was on First table Had the platter which was good. Also got pork ribs, slightly over done sadly.

Changing to 3 star from 5 after 2nd visit. Went with a large group and after dinner we were going to play on the street fighter 2 machine where all the boys would have stayed longer and drunk more as the night was still young. Bar tender grumperly told us the area was closed off. It wasn't roped off it anything. Maybe just didn't want to clean that area again. The machine was turned on and working. Just came back from Sweatshop and had an absolute smashing time (pun intended because I ordered the smash burger 🤯). Our server Ross had us feeling very welcome and a blast to talk to. Recommendations are the smash burger, and the Fried chicken (order some aioli sauce with this trust me). Will 1000% be seeing them soon! Thanks team

Sweatshop has always been one of my fave venues in city due to the great music and awesome terrace so I decided that I’d pick it for a friends birthday function. We hired out the velvet room and arranged a silent disco and it was class! Perfect space for our crew and the whole experience from initial organising to the execution was amazing! The team on the day were super helpful and my group had the best time! Food was also super yum! Would deffo recommend if anyone else is looking for a space for a party and I’ll 100% be back to enjoy some sunshine on the deck this summer! Thanks guys!

Mixed experience. Good, well priced, prompt food n drinks. Platters ideal for groups. However didn’t enjoy sharing smokers air and felt a bit lax on covid practices.

Come here with your friends if you are looking for a pub that sells really good food and has great vibes. I tried a variety of dishes and they were all pretty solid. Definitely worth checking this place out if you are ever in Auckland CBD. Ordered items: - Sweat shop platter: 👍 7.3/10 - Pork belly 👍 7.5/10 - Jerk chicken (with dirty rice) - Pepperoni pizza 👍 7.2 Sweatshop platter (Popcorn prawn, Korean fried chicken, roasted cauliflower, jalapeno rice ball, truffle fries, cheesy garlic pizza bread): All of the components were executed nicely. I would say my favourite of the bunch was the roasted cauliflower. I loved how it just just jam packed full of spices and flavour , the cauliflower florets were also nicely roasted which provides an amazing crispy texture. Pork belly (with tamarind glaze cauliflower puree, candied cashews): The pork belly was not amazingly soft and did require a bit of a bite. However it was definitely not dry or overcooked. The pork was nice and crispy on the outside as they did a really good job with the sear. Pork had a nice smoky and porky flavour which worked really well with the other elements on the plate. Had a private event there Area was cordoned off at one side then when we were having speeches etc we had so much public interrupting but going to the toilet area. Drinks are watered down - some of us had around 15 drinks and were not even tipsy… for a venue to require such a big cost or bar tab i would say we def didnt get the moneys worth. Only bonus was really just the music and the nibbles that they provided.

My partner got bounced for having ripped jeans. Classic Auckland power trip bounces/ owners, need to check themselves there are better ways to curate your clientele other than the way they choose to express themselves.

Quite surprised by some of the reviews on here. We seriously couldn't fault our night here if we tried our hardest. Started with drinks and went on to order a Meat Sweats Platter, Buttermilk Chicken and Jalapeno Poppers. The service was fast and friendly. A tab was opened for us to keep things simple for ordering. The food arrived rather quickly and made the two of us say wow about 10 times. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for either a drink or a full meal.

We held a 30th Birthday here and the staff were so accommodating during red light restrictions. The venue / food and drinks were all great. Organising through Head Office was also a breeze and Belinda was wonderful. Our only downfall was this one pushy security guard who told us we all had to leave at 11pm, despite being open til midnight :(

My 4 star rating is as a pub. I would give 3 stars if rating as a restaurant. Don't pick Sweat Shop Brew Kitchen if you are looking for fine dining, but if you looking for a good pub meal with good craft beer selection and a good lively vibe in the city fringe then Sweat Shop Brew Kitchen is definitely a good option.

We had an absolute blast at Sweat Shop, we did their hens do package and it was so worth it. The cocktail class was amazing and so was the Burleques class too. We were well looked after and had great communication the whole time. Would love to do it all again.

Cool spot, and nice staff... but the buttermilk chicken was just okay, kind of bland not spicy or flavourful. And the tatziki sauce I'd an odd combination with southern food. Also, there was A LOT if unused space but we were crammed yogether like sardines. Also, sharing space with smokers feels very 2000 and pretty jarring and yuck. Overall, not bad, just not great.

Just wanted to share some love for your service yesterday! Our waitress was so lovely and very accommodating for my low carb lifestyle, even asking if I wanted a side salad and lettuce bun - something I didn't know i could request! Really appreciated her and very thankful 😊
