Soul Bar & Bistro is conveniently located on the Viaduct with pretty decent views and a pleasant ambience, I got there right as they opened, so there was no wait for seating. The waiter was delightful, with a great sense of humor. The appetizers, Salt & Pepper Squid along with the Natural & Beer Battered Oysters, were delicious, and the drinks were fantastic. However, we were disappointed by the main dishes; they were super salty and just didn’t hit the spot. Maybe we should have chosen something more classic like a steak. Despite the lovely ambiance, the mains and the almost $300 bill didn't justify our experience. There are many cheaper dining options on the Viaduct and in the CBD that offer similar or better choices at a more affordable price.

Love this place. Was here at the weekend for another 4 hour Boozy lunch. The staff were very helpful with the wine pairing aswell, letting us try a few before we got a bottle. Lovely atmosphere and I will be back again very soon for some more amazing food. Thank you to Megan the young waitress, she was very friendly.

Nice meal at Soul over the weekend. We enjoyed our food, although it took longer than expected to come out. But they were extremely busy, and the wait staff were friendly and kept out waters topped. The Bluff oysters were fantastic and I enjoyed the scampi Spaghetti!

Great location. Not your average eatery. We had a vegetarian and a gluten-free person in our party. They could cater for everyone. Food was decent. Not sure if it's worth the price.

We did order a cake from them- in the fancy beautiful restaurant, I’m think the decorations can be better than that. I feel like kids drawing 🥲 0 star 1 star for wonderful friendly waiter service! 2 star for the appetisers was so yummy starter by waiter recommended * asparagus tart, kings prawn, ciabatta with special butter is Amazing so delicious 0 star Main- beef & Lamb no taste only the sauce or salsa tasty, by the way is yummy just the side vege and the sauce 😆 And the tiny oyster 😂

We arrived without a reservation for a very late lunch at 3pm. A table was found, despite the late hour and the obviously busy lunch crowd. Arthur, our waiter almost second guessed what we wanted, talking us through the menu, making recommendations for us and the kids including off menu options to keep them happy. He paired our wine and we had a wonderful impromptu lunch at a great spot. Everything was delicious!

One of my favourite restaurants in Auckland, Soul Bar who consistently delivers on all fronts, be it the delectable cuisine, impeccable service, fantastic location, or the extraordinary staff who are always friendly and attentive. Thanks team

If you’re here for tasty food then you’re at the right place, if you’re here for a warm service then you’re definitely not The servers took a long time to tend to us and were almost ignoring us by walking past and not refilling our water while carrying jugs. The worst was when we went to pay and the blonde pig at the entrance acted as if our mere presence was the bane of her existence. Moreover the price is high and not justified.

While waiting for delayed flight from Sydney, I chatted with a lovely lady who swore by this place. Let me be perfectly honest, it’s worth every dollar! The Prince Wharf location is perfect. I ordered a local white wine that was Excellent. Sadly I ordered a mixed drink that was slightly too sweet. The server accommodated me and offered something to tone it down. The oysters and the Caesar salad were delightful appetizers. We ordered the lamb and the market fish (similar to grouper I was told). Each were heavenly. I can still taste them. Definitely recommended to reserve a table.

Really a beautiful spot by the water, great for people watching and enjoying good quality food! We enjoyed the local oysters of the day - huge and really different than other oysters I've had elsewhere in the world. Mild and not very briny. We also enjoyed the Trevally Toast. The winner was the Green Goddess Salad with Haloumi cheese... It was SO GOOD that we didn't even remember to take a photo. We split the catch of the day, broccolini, and the miso-butter potatoes. These were good but not great. Dessert was the lemon creme brulee. The hero of that dish was the guava jelly! Overall, a very nice restaurant, good food and lovely scenery! We did get a last minute reservation on a Friday. A very popular spot for people to let their hair down and party (at the bar).

Get the Caesar!!! I’m food indecisive but came in knowing what I wanted. We opted for a bottle of Pinot Gris and the Caesar to start. Yummy yummy the Caesar in my tummy. For mains we had the lamb obviously 🙄 and the scampi, both were prepared very well. The lamb a perfect medium temperature and a great seafood to pasta ratio on the scampi. Great ambiance and environment, I’d definitely return. P.S Make a reservation

Had a fantastic team dinner on our visit to Auckland! We were maybe slightly underdressed in casual, most were dressed up. The place was buzzing, food was fabulous, seafood and other produce was spectacular. We all had a good time and would return.

The front of house Steve is ever so understanding. My friend and I came for lunch and the food came quickly but we were able to be at ease, stay and really appreciate the beautiful atmosphere and freshly served food. The fish and chips was superb. The waiters were so good at recommending options and filling our glasses with water. They don't miss a beat. Highly recommend. Very reasonably priced for a Viaduct location. We'll be back!

Been here several times, food and service is consistently good!! Whether you come for lunch, dinner or 12am. Love that it's open quite late and even when the main menu has stopped the bar menu still has a bit of everything. Can't go wrong with the calamari which is always on our order. Everything is impeccable, every time!

I've been to Soul multiple times. Their menu is quite extensive and uses good quality ingredients, and the food is prepared perfectly. Would especially recommend their lamb ribs, mac n cheese and creme brulee dessert. I'm really impressed with their customer service, especially the head waiter Michael is really professional and friendly. Will be coming back for my birthday if not sooner :)

Great food and service, highly recommended. The blackened prawn appetiser was perfectly cooked, along with the market fish that was pan fried and finished in the oven. The beef short rib ragu was great and seemed popular with other diners.

Modern & sophisticated place, ambience is really nice, quite easy to get packed too. Salted pepper calamari tastes so good, must have. Breads quite too hard for our liking. Didn't like much my main of crayfish capellini, too much sauce that makes it soggy far from being tasty too. Cocktail drinks quite refreshing on a very hot sunny day, we specially like the lychee one. 👍

Only draw back was food were slow to come out due to short of staff. We a large group also, 13 adults and 1 child. We had a lovely time.would come back there again.

Loved this place! Food and ambience was really great, staff was really friendly and food was served without much waiting. Place was fully packed, like most of the tables were full, but still we had our privacy and enjoyed this place. Will surely come back!

Beautiful view, fantastic service and nice food! The staff members were exceptionally accommodating and friendly. They provided right service and offered more of what we needed. Loved the Pâté and the unique textures of food for tuna was creative! Definitely will go there again. Had such a lovely dinner:)

Good location, nice view. The service is average and not very caring. For entrees the calamari was very bland and slightly too tough, while the yellowfin with kimchi was too heavily flavoured with a combination of flavors that didn’t work well. The highlights were the main courses. The snapper was pan-fried just right with a complementary lime dressing, while the pappardale was quite heavy but very flavourful. The dressing on the charred brussel sprouts was far too tart but the sprouts were well-cooked. Overall the price is relatively high, although the mains were quite good.

A cult classic for a reason. We went for restaurant month and it didn't disappoint. The calamari is a must. And the carpaccio was beautiful. Both mains didn't disappoint. To think chicken could taste that good, I think that was the most impressive. Service was pleasant, but a touch too fancy for me. Would love to go back and eat again.

Super delicious. Good service. We just land and walk in. Lucky we got inside seat. And all staff work effective. Recommend to go. If you can book early there have great view seat.

There is always a vibe about Soul. Service was efficient and cordial. Our waiter was quick to see that we have all we need. Oysters, very fresh. Scampi pasta, good but too much hype. Whole fish of the day, beautifully done. Was it worth it? Yep.

I've been to Soul a few times this year. The food is consistently good and service was fast. The balcony is a nice spot with the hanging flowers. I'd say it was too noisy for kids. We couldn't hear people sitting at our own table.

Exquisite food and dining experience. The food and the service was impeccable and the wine list was on point. Our server, Mike was really helpful is making excellent recommendations for the appetiser and main. Would definitely recommend if you’re visiting Auckland.

The fresh oysters, what can I say about them? They're absolutely New Zealand's national treasure. We ordered half a dozen and after tasting the fresh bluff oysters, we had no choice but to order another dozen. Heavenly and this taste of freshness will linger in my mouth for years to come. These are life changing oysters. Thank you Soul. The calamari and rack of lamb were superb as well. My heart is full now. The servers and staff were all so nice , sweet and comforting. Stay class Soul Auckland
