What an outstanding lunch I had here! Pan fried snapper, gluten free and absolutely delicious! Food is a little pricey but it's well worth it! Staff were friendly, and helpful without being intrusive on our family get together.

Lovely gastro pub! 🍺🍔 A bit upmarket in prices but worth it for the service, range and menu. Loads of space - so many little corners and side areas to tuck away to. A conversationalists pub with plenty of parking. There are at least two bars, and a seperate family/kids room with proper tables for the adults and play areas for the wee ones (🙏thank you from those of us without kids who have sensory issues around screams/squeals🙃). The people behind the bar are knowledgeable, warm yet professional and the decor is really fun🍍. There are indoor and outdoor areas and even a fireplace. It’s the kinda spot to go with a group for a lovely afternoon of food and drink 🧐😁

22/01/21- came back today to give them a chance, but the pastry on the wellington was nothing but glue and the beef horrible. The pork porchetta was as hard as rubber. The waitress circled 3 times and didn't ask why the food was placed at the end of the table. No changes here unfortunately. Terrible, just terrible. From our first meal on their opening when they couldnt get the food hot and the waiter sweating into the food (and half pie apologies from the then owners) to returning 2 weeks ago (with same manager), nothing has changed. (2 visits in a week) The pie, with 2 pieces of carrot and 3 peas inside..to sit with peas and carrot as accompanied vege(? ) was just awful, and the 6hr twice cooked pork belly is a complete lie. The chewiest pile of swill. I said something to the waitress and were added a $20 meal adjustment or changes for the issue that I didn't raise directly( and asked the waitess to be forgotten as why I didn't eat the meal) , and inadvertently paid. I should have checked the Bill closer. They would have got away with it if I could have ordered more than 1 beer. Just terrible inattentive service. Awareness results in expectations. Expectations can be met with disappointment. I had way too much awareness for this place upon its opening had good expectation upon its continence and my result was met with its continual laziness. This is around 3-4 years now. Do not eat here ever. Save your money.

Haven’t been here since it was the Speights Ale House. Nice atmosphere. The delivered the food quick to a big group. I went for the Greek lamb salad. The salad was nice but the lamb was only good for re-soling my motor bike boots.

My son and I popped in for dinner after work. Very much a pub experience with a few younger persons around in sports gear. I assume touch. I was expecting a steak meal or plain food which is what was on the menu. Young bar staff. The staff were friendly and dressed casual fitting with the atmosphere. My son and I both had a steak meal. It was tasty. I thought a bit pricey for what we had. Overall okay experience.

Food was okay I guess, Nacho was good the beef wellington was bland with no flavour beef look over cooked and we were served without steak knife so we had to cut it with bread knife.

Met up with ex work colleagues. We got there early, it does get busy & can be noisy. Food was v good 👍🏻

Very expensive food. Our cycling team met there as it was central for us all. As the food is really expensive we thought we would take up there promotional offer '$20 Burger and chips for sports teams.' They had a poster on the wall advertising this. They refused to sell us the burger and forced us to order the $32 burger. The reason given? 'Cycling is not a sport'.

Went here on good friday night for dinner - worth every cent! Ordered Chicken, steak & side of ribs all of which tasted amazing. Food was nice and hot to enjoy, flavours we’re mouthwatering! Couldn’t finish everything and still had left overs to take home. This will absolutely be me & my gfs go to spot from now on!

Had to kill some time waiting for a mate to finish work. It was a Tuesday around 3pm so very quiet, and it was raining. But it has a nice atmosphere and the service was good and it seems like a good spot for a few drinks after work or if you are around that way. I can't comment on the food. Plenty of parking nearby. I'll certainly add it to my list of spots worth going back to.

Place has a good vibe with wonderful background music. Several TV’s are strategically placed so that everyone can access. Excellent service with a smile and great food.

The staff was exceptionally nice here. Quick service and very attentive. We only ordered snacks so pretty basic fries and chicken bites. But I would still suggest a stop in.

Excellent dinner date we had ❤️ ordered steak eggs & chunky chips greek sald( my fav❤️) desserts sticky toffee pudding( mouthwatering) ❤️ reasonable and affordable price ambience is litwrally heaven 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♀️ coming again

Food and service was awesome. I had one of the best cooked restaurant bought steaks here, bang on medium rare.👍 Only complaint was its too hard to have a conversation. Music was a bit loud because we were seated right under one of the speakers. Made it harder for someone who is partially deaf to hear what my friends were saying.

Love the pub and great atmosphere although food could be a little something different. I feel like its all fairly generic pub grub, but after a few pints who cares, right?

We came here for the quiz night. Great atmosphere. We ordered the large brownie and it was way too big to finish between two people. Their social media posts keep staying that their dog friendly. I had to ring in advance to ask whether our dog could be sat inside. Sadly this wasn’t allowed but think stating their dog friendly is misleading. Technically any eatery in Auckland is dog friendly if the dog stays outside. We have been to many other pubs and breweries that let us take dogs inside so can understand why these places emphasise that they are dog friendly.

Really friendly staff and clean. The food came out quick, was delicious and generous portion. The chicken burger was amazing.

Really enjoyed our visit to the Good Home in Mt Eden. A really family friendly pub - and have to say absolutely loved the proper baby change table available in the disabled bathrooms for both men and women. Makes such a difference with a bub (IYKYK). We were a group of 4 adults with two babes who came in on a Sunday for lunch. Didn’t realise the UFC was on but managed to grab a table v easily plus two high chairs. Ordered the meat feast platter (contains the tomahawk steak, a whole chicken, ribs, meatballs, onion rings and fries) plus a Greek salad. The meat platter was great value for money. My only issue was with presentation - it all comes stacked on top of each other and I would have preferred it to be on a platter separate as it meant a lot of cross flavour contamination (for example the fries were all soggy and covered in the ribs sauce) but all in all was good. The Greek salad was also yummy and a decent size. Service was great - staff were efficient and attentive and even remembered our previous drinks orders which I thought was impressive. Enjoyed our lunch immensely.

Got the Turf and Surf. Ordered medium rare. Food arrives in less 10minutes which eas nice nice as was starving but same time disappointing and worrying... a $55 steak, dished out in less than 10 mins...clearly not rested. Arrives as medium well done not medium rare. The mushroom sauce comes in a large random bowl. The 'petite salad' was so petite that it never manifested itself. All up paid over $65 for a what got throw out of the kitchen in about 10 minutes...had a better steak for $20 down the road at the Horse and Trap. Don't waste your money on a amateur cooked $55 dollar steak when you are really craving a nice steak..go to the New York grill at Newmarket spend the same money but have a memorable world class experience ..this was just rubbish sorry to say. Beer was nice...thankfully was able to wash down the cheap steak taste.

Classic local sports bar. I have to say, they really load up their nachos and fries. Would recommend sharing just the one with a friend! Basic beers on tap. Good vibes.

Food was decent, comfy atmosphere. But if you go there an hour before closing the staff might be unkind. I'd been there about 3hours with my friends, we ordered over $350 and after few hours later they said they're gonna close early that means they want us to get out. It was 10:20pm and I saw they're being not really kind to other customers who walked in an hour before closing.

Absolutely love this place!! Accidently stumbled upon looking for a cuppa late evening with my buddies on a rainy day. Omy the place is a stunner. The food is simply drool worthy. Might sound like I'm exaggerating, but that day I walked away fully satisfied! Excellent service, ambience and food. And that's very rare!! Deffo coming back 😊

Had dinner here on a Thursday night. Such lovely and friendly staff. Especially Allie thank you for being such an energetic and fun waiter/bartender! The whole vibe here was awesome! You have one nice side of the place to enjoy a nice meal which is where we sat. The other side has a lot more seating available to those who just want to drink and enjoy watching the footy. We all had the burgers and tenderloins and wow what a hit! Burgers were stacked and they were so good. We also had dessert omg the Apple rhubarb crumble, sticky toffee pudding and the dessert of the moment which was a cheesecake was all soo delicious and filling we couldn’t finish it sadly. But overall it is a great place to go to, huge outdoor area as well. Great music, good vibes and yummy food.

Great experience. The food is superb and cooked to perfection. Our waitress was super friendly and always checked on us regardless of how busy it was. Child friendly as they have a play area + crayons and colouring activities.

Had birthday dinner, due to my limited hearing in both ears asked for a quiet table. On arrival we were shown to a room on the right hand side. Our party were the only diners in the room. Prior to arrival rang and asked about part payment of the bill with a prezzy card - no problem. Likewise one of our party requires gluten free food. There is a number of food options on the menu. For dessert no options on the menu, after discussions they advised they would make a gluten free dessert available. The phone call was with Louise who was most helpful. On the night, Ali looked after us very well, good beer/drink options and the food was very good. Thanks to 'the team' for making the evening stress free. Would have no hesitation in returning and will definitely do this.

Legit BOMB as food 😍 had lunch with my sisters yesterday. Every single meal was BOMB and soooo hearty and full. We island girls we love our food. Good home delivered 💯 Worth every cent. To top it off service was 💯 joe warm greeting well he seated us all and the young woman who took our order forgot to ask her name 🤦🏽‍♀️ Honestly hands down made us feel welcomed ❤️ You guys ticked off all the boxes. We will diffently be back again worth drive from south AUCKLAND 😜 Gutted I didn’t get a photo of all my meals but here is photo of my LAMB salad BOMB 🔥 well done chef 💯

Food ranges from excellent to average, a little bit of a lottery each time as to the size and quality of your meal. However the food is always tasty and when it is right it is excellent.
