Overall, my girlfriend and I had a good time at Sidart, but I do think the reviews are a bit overrated. We had the seven course degustation. None of the dishes were particularly inspiring or memorable. In fact, the dessert was so sweet, I didn’t finish it. The service was nothing special either - we were rushed through the dishes. The waitress started pouring the wine for the second dish before we had even finished the first dish, almost as if rushing us to eat faster. I would probably have paid about $75 per person for this experience, but definitely at $175 per person, I expect better than this. One thing that I definitely would award 5/5 stars for is the wine pairing. We paid for the premium wine pairing. It was a beautiful selection. Each wine not only paired with each dish very well, but they actually elevated each other. I recommend paying for the premium wine pairing if you come here.

Came to celebrate anniversary and ordered the tasting menu. Good part is that the presentation of each dish was good with thoughtful and matching plates, and a free starter and a second desert were thoughtfully provided as a nice surprise. But the flavor of a few courses was below expectation, with the spices being too strong to blend into the whole dish (appreciate its Indian inspiration) and the temperature being too hot or too cold when served (one of the cold dish was even a bit icy that it numbed my tongue for a second). Drinks were exceptionally expensive with no reason. Interior of the restaurant was below expectation of being a fine dining place.

Absolutely wonderful evening with Sidart; service was impeccable, almost every dish was perfect and the ones that were not, were still great. Great flow to the meal and really fun and interesting wine pairings, mostly from around New Zealand (which was great because it's a wine region I'm probably the least familiar with). All servers were nice and presented the dishes well. Truthfully, we had almost no complaints at all, especially when it came to the price tag. The price with gratuity was around $350 USD for two people, which may sound expensive to some, but is a downright awesome deal for an exquisite multi course meal with wine pairings that is at this level. Absolutely recommended.

A beautiful boutique like restaurant located upstairs serving the finest food and wine. Has a deck with a stunning view of the city. We had the 5 course menu and would go again. Had already recommended this place to a friend. Cocktails were sensational too

We had a wonderful dinner experience here on my boyfriend's birthday. We chose extended series with a selection of 12 parts. Each piece has a special flavor and quite interesting combinations from Japan, India, Thailand and some dishes we can't guess the background seasoning. They are beautifully decorated, Fresh ingredients, some of the dishes are quite strong for our taste. Anyway we enjoyed it. After finishing dessert, the restaurant brought up a small cake with candles for my boyfriend's birthday. So nice! Thank you very much! Ambience: 10/10 Taste of food: interested. Service: 9/10 staff talk too fast when talking about food we can't catch up. Nice location! Great city view!

We were lucky to enjoy the special NYE tasting menu with them. What a great explosion for the taste buds, great attentive service and great advice regarding wine selection and pairings. All you would expect from an high-end upmarket restaurant in Auckland of course… but still … great place to go - nice view of CBD if you catch one of the few tables at the windows - and of course a nice suburb for drinks as well …

We went to Sidart to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It is located at Ponsonby. It is a bit hard to find for the first time, up stairs of a small mall. Greeted by helpful and friendly and staff upon arrival. We chose 3 course a la carte. Their dishes are unique and interesting. Some dishes are quite spicy so it is not everyone's cup of tea. It was a nice experience dining at Sidart.

We had the 7 course menu and it was absolutely delightful everything exceeded our expectations plus some. The views are beautiful and the staff were wonderful even brought out a little birthday treat. Highly recommend them. Only took a photo of the last dessert course and my goodness parsnip ice cream?! Never would've picked this but highly recommend it!

The degustation menu here is mind blowing! Inventive flavour and texture combinations and beautiful presentation. The space is relaxing and the staff walked us through each course, answered our many questions and were attentive without being intrusive. They even brought out a birthday treat for me. A must-visit for foodies.

Phenomenal. Every course was artfully-constructed and delicious. My favorites were the elk (pictured), leek, duck broth, and macaroon with meringue and raspberry cone (pictured). The staff were thoughtful, observant (my glass was never empty and my forks were replaced after each course), and well-informed (they filled me in on wine options and the local ingredients). The view outside was picturesque! I’ve eaten all over the world and Sidart is, by far, one of the best experiences of my life. Highly recommend stopping in and ordering 9-courses- such a memorable evening!

We had the 7course discovery menu. Dishes were hit and miss. But they have perfected their dessert. Everything they prepared for dessert was just amazing. Their ambience is really nice.

Amazing experience, way exceeded expectations. Came here slightly worried about the menu as coming from Singapore we are not particularly used to the meats like Venison and Quail. But was absolutely in love with every dish from start to finish. The dish that really stood out to us was the fish that was topped with chicken emulsion and chicken skin crumble, such interesting flavours and pairing and we couldn’t get enough of it. Highly recommended for a visit, well worth the price tag :)

Been wanting to try this restaurant for so long, finally got the chance to book for my birthday dinner last weekend. It was such an unfogettable experience. From greeting us when we walked in till we left the place. Each and every dish was just exquisite. Special mention to the bartender who gave innovative twists to classic cocktails. But what stood out the most during this experience are the service staff, especially Sarad, who gave us quality service. All staff were very knowledgeable and explained each dish to us which made it more interesting. We'll definitely be back for another degustation experience.

Desserts were amazing but overall some dishes' sauces are too thick and too strong. Most of the time I felt like I'm eating either peanut butter or nutella... They don't match with seafood..

Went for the test kitchen menu and was blown away with the flavours and creativity of the whole menu. Everyone who served us was professional and the wine recommendations were perfect, definitely one of the best restaurants New Zealand has to offer

If you can afford a meal here you probably should try them. Really lovely experience. Amazing food and service. Highly recommend the wine pairing, wonderful pairing with the food. We let them know it was our 1 year anniversary and they even gave us an extra little cake with a candle!

The food was amazing. Very good balance and variety. The matching wines were pretty good too and we really felt like having a special evening. The waiters are also amazing, it is getting rare to get such a good service and it makes the experience even better. Definitely recommended!!!

Great place with wonderful services. The dishes were interesting and we'll executed though some flavour combinations didn't quite work for me. Definitely worth a visit, it is like eating artworks from a gallery!

Such a lovely place to spend with special people. The staff were lovely. Even the chef had come out with our coats and acknowledged us. Very grateful 😇 for the experience. Thank you to everyone who worked this evening and made a special evening memorable.

Ambience The ambience of the restaurant was serene with sky tower view Food Quality Customized India fusion food stimulate your taste buds. Must explore their designer menu. Lamb was soft and nicely done Their beef cutlets are the best that I have tasted. Venison cones were palatable. Staff Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Really liked their attention to each and every table. They will explain every food dish after serving. Price It is value for money restaurant. Way better than other fine dine restaurant serving Indian cuisine.

WOW just WOW, we had our staff christmas dinner here and we were all blown away. It was more than eating out. Each plate was an experience like an art gallery for your taste buds. We felt like we were on Master Chef. The best ever and my new favourite Auckland restaurant. Oh and there are fantastic views of the city as well.

My wife and I had a fantastic dinner at Sidart and enjoyed the Chef Table experience with the local set of paired wines. The food was absolutely top notch and service by Joe, Lesley and the wider staff was fantastic. My wife and I both concluded that this would be highly recommended for someone who wanted to sample amazing NZ and Pacific flavours, meats/seafood and wine. Expertly crafted menu, simple & sophisticated without being too experimental or complex. And the champagne/wines really added to the taste and experience. Thank you, we came away very full and happy!

What an amazing experience - beautiful location and atmosphere! The food was mouthwatering and delicious, flavours were great. We were a table of 4 with Sidart's 5 course tasting menu. A must visit restaurant in Auckland for the service and food.
