Came in for breakfast- it’s a very cute restaurant. We were able to walk in and get seating for 2. They are able to accommodate to gluten free diets. Delicious!

Service is warm and nice but food very disappointing for such price -Steak dish way too simple and too dry and the spinach sauce quite overwhelming. -lemon ricotta on toast has disproportionate tomato which makes the whole dish less creamy and way too tangy

Our recent visit to this restaurant was overshadowed by the disappointing service we encountered. Upon arrival, there was no one to assist us with our coats and no coat racks or hangers or free chairs provided for self-service, which would have been entirely acceptable for us. We’re not pretentious; given the tools, we would have happily managed our outerwear ourselves. When we eventually had to ask a staff member named Clarissa for assistance, her response was less than accommodating, almost as if our simple request was a major inconvenience. Our evening ended on a further sour note when we discovered our coats crumpled and nearly on the floor. Even more perplexing was the sight of other guests’ clothes neatly hung on hangers, with plenty of space and hangers still available. When asked about this, Clarissa replied dismissively that they should have been hanging. Indeed, they should have. We hope the restaurant management takes note of this issue to improve the overall guest experience in the future. Food is okay, nothing special. We ordered Market Fish with clams. But they should have named it 'Market fish with a clam' as there was only one tiny clam on the whole plate.

Food was delicious but the prices are extremely over the top for what you get. The buratta doesn't even come with bread so we got that on the side... turns out it's $8 for 2 measly slices. Poor form since switching over to Savour group

Recommend by one of the colleague and went there yesterday. Had a seasonal grilled fish dish. The fish was cooked to perfection and the skin was crisp. Taste of the produce were pretty good. Went back today and had gnocchi. The consistency and the sauce is sensational. The chap who was serving yesterday was friendly and fantastic and made a pretty good Pinot Gris suggestion. The lady who served today and was also supervising the team was also warm and friendly.

Ortolana is our new favorite place. Their dishes are no old school. New ideas. New flavor profiles. Refreshing in taste and enjoyment. Love it.

Had a vegetarian pasta today. It was so delicious! Liked how mint and peas match well. Staff is super friendly. Also the chef who made my pasta is handsome😂

Ortolana really is one of the best restaurants in Auckland, it ticks all the boxes: Great food, great cocktails, excellent service and beautiful atmosphere. I come to Ortolana as often as I can, breakfast, lunch or dinner I know I can trust that I will receive an excellent meal with great service. I enjoy sitting outside in the courtyard all year round. If you are in Auckland for a limited time, I would not hesitate to recommend Ortolana.

Highly recommended. Very friendly and appropriate service. Food is creative. The highlight is hazelnut paste with beef sirloin. I have never tasted before and found it very refreshing. Price is very attractive compared to its overall performance.

Had a lovely lunch in Sunday with my husband and 12 year old daughter. Love the fresh seasonal ingredients, simple yet elegantly put together! Tasty coffee, good quality hot chocolate with homemade marshmallow. A lot of love has gone to the food and drinks! Service was amazing too. Can't wait to come back for dinner and a few drinks!

I had the lamb and potatoes for dinner, I was alone and requested for a seat indoors as it’s chilly, there was one table with 2 seats available but I was told i can only sit outside. Service was lacking I had to get my own water. The lamb was too tough, potatoes was the only item done well. The server was surprised when I told him the lamb was not up to my expectations. Would I go again? I am afraid not.

Keep seeing this place flow with people either for breakfast or lunch. We have had our breakfast and everything went great. We ordered folded eggs and pain au chocolate. The pain au chocolate a bit too buttery for my liking but can’t deny it awesome buttery taste.

Friendly and intimate setting for a beautiful meal. We hosted a 21 person dinner here on a Friday night and the service was outstanding. The staff were caring and helpful, and the food was delicious. We will be highly recommending Ortolana to everyone. Thanks for a great night! ❤️

Went there for breakfast. The house bread and sour dough was really value for money and so tasty. The peanut butter and conserve was so good.

A solid favourite for many years now. I went back after a long break and wasn't disappointed. Ricotta and asparagus gnocchi were amazing.

Great place for a quiet, intimate meal. Always great flavours with their seasonal menus. Very attentive staff, lovely little location for an upmarket breakfast, lunch or dinner.

What an amazing find, the food was exceptional, the service was great, the tastes were divine! The ambience is super cool too, we had a beautiful table for too (which looked like it could be cramped), but it wasn't, it added to the overall cosy feeling of the restaurant. We will definitely be back and I hope its soon!!!!

We had a set of appetizer, main and dessert. The food presentation looks great but the food did not meet my expectations. If not for the pleasant lady serving us, this place isn't worth the money.

Haven't been here in years and it didn't disappoint. In fact, I think it's better than ever. Had the folded eggs on the recommendation of the waiter and it was absolutely top notch. Service was super friendly and attentive. You really can't find a better place for Saturday breakfast.

We recently had dinner on the night of our engagement. The staff here were fantastic, the food was delicious and the taking of photos + free champagne was very appreciated! We will definitely be coming back to celebrate in future.

Really nice eatery, cool cozy vibe, the food is delish. Staff is very attentive (sometime to a fault). Desserts are delightful. The restaurant is tucked away a bit yet it's in a busy area at Britomart. Would go back any time there.

Service was great, recommend to book beforehand. The lamb was tender and ricotta surprisingly complement the broccoli really well. Would love to dine here again.

Very good in taste. Must visit. Options are limited though. In main course you ll have only pasta, fish, beef and chicken. But, the food is really good.

Just lovely all around. The food was full of flavour - I had the potatoes and warehou fish with fried egg and salsa verde. The coffee was smooth and creamy. Recommended!

Unbelievable, first time at Ortolana for lunch the other day. When I asked about our order after waiting a long time, it turned out that the very pleasant and otherwise helpful waitress had not conveyed our order to the chief. I had to get back to the office and could not wait longer, so I had to leave hungry after many apologies and having the bill for the coffee and spring water waived. Therefore, I can't comment on the food, other than that the coffee was good and that the menu looked okay. It was very busy at the time I was there, and the atmosphere was okay. But failing to serve our order is pretty inexcusable.

Amazing brunch place with huge servings and bigger in taste. Coffee was also exceptional. Staffs are attentive and always around to serve and also to top up water. if you only have time for a brunch place to go, this is it!

Great atmosphere, extremely friendly staff and delicious food!

My daughter ordered two fried eggs on toast, sunny side up. One egg was fine. The other has very raw white. We discussed this with the manager and asked for another egg to be cooked. Long story short, the response made me more angry than the mistake. My only advice for a business like this is to listen to the customer and you will avoid terrible reviews.

Ortolana is one of my go to places mostly for breakfast but occasionally also for dinner. It has a relaxed vibe, friendly staff and an innovative menu. But don’t worry if you feel the need for a translator for the menu as the staff are super helpful. The folded egg; the omelette and the pane fritto are my favourite breakfast items as are the market fish, chicken cotoletta and sirloin for dinner.

Their seafood pasta and steak are heavenly! Their kids pasta is very nice too and we'll priced at $10 (without protein). The cafe itself is nicely decorated as well and the staff are all very friendly.
