Fantastic hospitality. This is our second time at Amano and it really delivered this time. We walked in for a bit to eat after a show, the restaurant was full but the host was very informative and sat us on a booked table that gave us enough time to have dinner. Our daughter is super picky but ate a whole bowl of creamy pasta that the chefs made specifically for her. This is so important, it took the stress away from us having to figure put what she will eat. We went for pasta and some snacks. I got the pasta with truffles as they are in season and it was very well priced. Everything was fresh, quick and delicious. I loved the fresh sodas that are made in-house. And we didn’t feel like we’ve spent too much, so totally worth it. Service was warm, interactive and made us feel welcome. Thanks to Alex for making this one of the best dining experiences as of late.

I recently discovered this restaurant through Google and had high expectations due to its popular reviews. However, I was a bit disappointed with my experience. I didn't anticipate that a brunch spot would require reservations, and it was incredibly busy on weekends. After putting our name on the waitlist, we had to wait for about an hour and a half before being seated. Even after we finally sat down and placed our orders, the food took another over half an hour to arrive, and only after we inquired about it with the waitress. While the pasta we ordered was delicious (even though a little salty), as a main course, the portion was not filling enough. Absolutely! Lesson learned, making a reservation in advance will be necessary for future visits. I do hope that the restaurant takes steps to improve their service, as it would greatly enhance the overall experience for their customers.

One of the best meals we had in Auckland. The restaurant interior is beautiful, staff very polite and helpful. It was very busy, definitely recommend booking a table in advance so you don't miss out. We didn't feel rushed between our courses and were asked if we wanted time to wait between. Food came out in good time. Delicious cocktails. Cannot wait to visit again.

Food is tasty, the chargrilled kahawai was a bit overcooked. Service is good, friendly, smiley and polite waitresses. The light went darker after 7pm. Toilets are upstairs, 25 steps to get there. There is a toilet for disabled people downstairs.

Oyster is yummy! However the pasta was extremely salty, and the grilled brussel sprouts was bitter! Wished it’d be less salty and perhaps food will taste better. Also, the serving time takes very long…

We had breakfast in a very nice atmosphere on a Sunday morning. They have an original take Avocado toasts adding almonds and seeds. Eggs were very tasty and bakery products were top level. Coffee wasn't too special.

I only stopped for a quick breakfast before a flight but the cinnamon bun I had was immense and the espresso was good quality too. Helpful service topped it all off. Definitely would recommend.

The food was well-prepared and flavorful, especially their burrata which is my all-time favorite. The quality of the food has always been good and stable, and the staff provided great service throughout my meal. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, although a bit loud at times. While I enjoyed my meal, I wish they had more gluten-free options on the menu, especially with pasta. Nonetheless, this is one of the best Italian you can find in Auckland, don't missed out!

I usually have a coffee and a lemon tart to take away from Amano, and today I had first dining experience there. Food was so good, oysters were so fresh! A bit surprised that monkfish was off the menu as I was so looking forward to trying it, I think they update their menu often cos I’m pretty sure it was on the menu last weekend. Staff were friendly and professional, also loved the fact they wiped the table before they served dessert cutlery and plates. Will definitely return again!

One of the nicest restaurants I've been to in a long time...stunningly stylish fitout in a fantastic location, the staff were lovely and attentive to our needs...the food was incredible and you have to try the clams and also the octopus...one slight knock on Amano was the wine list could have been a little more comprehensive. Regardless, treat yourself to a wonderful dining experience and visit Amano

This is the prettiest place I’ve been to so far. With aesop soap & hand cream in the bathrooms, marble bar tops and delicious noodles, it was a very pleasant experience. However, once we tried to order some more bread and butter, the waitress seemed like she was annoyed with us. Speaking of the bread, it was amazing with the butter and the sea flakes! The noodles were good, portions were good as well. The clams were juicy and delicious.

I went to Amano four years ago and it quickly became my favorite restaurant in Auckland. I was looking forward, 4 years later, to visit the restaurant again expecting it to still be my favorite place in Auckland. Unfortunately, it fell short. The food is still very good but it missed the excellence level it had a few years ago. Still recommend it for a great dinner out!

Great food, a bit on the pricier end of things but the ambience was amazing. Very good mood and seating. The restaurant was very new and clean. Staff were very friendly and efficient, great service. The bathrooms were very modern, clean and new. The food was very delicious too.

A total perfection of a bakery/ restaurant. I would go as far as calling it a landmark in Auckland! A must for your visit to the city, even if it’s not on your way. The ambience is worthy of 6 stars. Everything screamed class, style, attention to detail, all while not being too posh and unattractive to the everyday tourist. For example, I have never seen such classy restrooms (see pictures), perfectly clean, two types of hand wash and towels for drying your hands. Now turning to food. Lost for words. An incredible selection of bakery- brunch-restaurant dishes. What can be better? Well tasting it! It was truly mouth-watering. Further, their service was also 5 stars. Free water for everyone. This is probably one of the top 5 restaurants I have ever been to.

Excellent restaurant located on Britomart place and Tyler street. Loved the scampi and tomatoes. Just the perfect blend of pasta and spice. One of the best places I’ve eaten in Auckland. Has a pub and such. Tables are limited so reserve one if able. If not there is usually something available at the bar.

The food is excellent. As is the service. Three separate members of the staff served us and the service was impeccable. And the glasses of water always topped up. The staff seems to be very happy too, giggling and having little chats. It’s a big place but pockets of it feel like a home

Everything was great until I found a strand of hair stuck to the gnocchi. One of the staff saw the strand of hair being peeled of the gnocchi as she came to ask how everything was. I would’ve appreciated it if the effort was put into remedying the issue. It was an absurd experience

We celebrated a birthday here on Friday evening and it was everything I had hoped for and more! Loved the food, loved the decor, and loved the service. We will be back!

Went here on date night recently and we both loved it. 🔥 Ambiance was terrific 👏🏾 Service was lovely, speedy, and attentive 👩‍🍳 Food was outstanding They also did a great job cooking seasonally. We had lots of fresh asparagus and courgette bc that's what's local right now. All in all, we'd go back ASAP.

Without a doubt, Amano is my favourite restaurant in New Zealand. Being open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner I know that I can always rely on the team at Amano to exceed my expectations, every time. The chefs do a great job at selecting in season produce which is presented impeccably. It is great to see Amano put emphasis on the provenance of their food - staff will be able to tell you the origins of where the ingredients come from. The cocktails are a big highlight which change with the seasons. I am always confident that no matter what I try, I will love what the bar serves me. If there is something particular that isn't on the menu, they will usually be able to make it for you. Atmosphere and Service - this is where Amano really comes to life. Being a big restaurant I am always impressed with the personal service that comes with every meal. From the moment you walk in and are greeted, to ordering food and then paying at the end, the service cant be beaten. Staff are not overwhelmed and really take the time to make sure your experience is up to their high standards. Overall, I feel privileged to be able to able to dine at Amano. It is a non-pretentious all day restaurant that has, in my opinion, the best service in Auckland.

The kiwifruit smoothie and tamarillo&lemon drinks were very nice, but not $8 for 250ml good. My steak was a bit salty for my taste but still yummy. Great atmosphere and service :-)

You didn't disappoint us for a bit. Lived up to your high standards. Hospitality in a true sense. Food, service, ambience and experience. Top notch. Just had coffees and small bites and were highly impressed. Can't wait to be back to try main courses.

Amazing, the decor is so beautiful and the vibe is just right. Service is 10/10, such friendly and personable staff, always filling up your water (a key sign of good service). The food is divine!!!! So well cooked and the flavours coming together. The wine list is fabulous and staff are knowledgeable about pairing with your meal! the cocktails are all unique! Highly recommend this place.

Delicious food but slow service. Could have been because they were busy. For starter I had straciatella with asparagus and almond which was delicious. It was served with bread and was served very quickly. I was recommended very good wines to pair by the bartender. I then unfortunately had to wait 1h for the main to be served (I knew this exactly from when I took the photo of my starter). The main, which was pasta with scampi, was delicious and hot but the wait time was incredibly long, especially that some other people at the bar who ordered after me were served first which I thought was not nice. Definitely delicious food but questionable speed of service depending on the day.

Very nice food, as always, cooked well and high quality, staff were great and very helpful. It was a bit loud, which made it quite hard to have a conversation, and they kept dimming the lights, until it was very dark, but nothing out of the ordinary. Very good, will come back often as I already do!

Second time here and both the breakfast and dinner menus have produced food that did not disappoint. I had the prosciutto with eggs. They went a little heavy on the garlic but I enjoyed it still.

Cousin is fine for this price tags. The variety of menu - reasonable good. Entry variety is limited. The waiting time for main ( pasta +) was extremely long (30 minutes or more). Pasta was tasty and served well. The desert reasonable good.

This is our first time to visit Amano. We ordered "Smoked warehou pate, green olive & sourdough" and "Chargrilled lamb, carrot, preserved lemon & goat’s cheese". The meal are very delicious and tasty. Staffs are helpful and friendly even though they are very busy.

Great ambience and service. Would highly recommend the chargrilled lamb, carrot, preserved lemon & goat’s cheese. The lamb was cooked to perfection and had a crisp skin. All the dishes were served at the same time, nice work. The pacific oysters and stracciatella also were really good as well.

Quality service and ambience. The food turnabout was reasonable during an obviously busy time. Would highly recommend their Spiced Pumpkin cocktail! Ordered their squid dish - was a little disappointed to discover that it was the same size as an entrée dish (for the same price as other listed mains), and would cost $10 extra to upgrade to a main sized dish. Even when upgrading, the portion size seemed quite small and left something to be desired after finishing the squid dish. In saying so, the squid was very well seasoned, super flavourful and delicious. Amano is definitely a restaurant/bar/bakery that is not easy on wallet, smaller sized meals, but tasty nonetheless!

The valhorna hot chocolate is the best! I had an avocado toast that was very tarty but the ommelete was nothing special. Coffe is ok. The building is very nice and the toilets are remarkable clean and well presented.

When dining in, the service is attentive and friendly, the food is delicious and fresh, and atmosphere is great. Worth the wait if you don't manage to secure a reservation (they only book 50% of tables in advance)

We had exceptional service, delightful food with an upmarket yet welcoming, friendly ambience. At the mere mention of a birthday, we recieved a nice surprise, Happy Birthday written on the dessert with a candle! It is difficult to surpass this experience.

The restaurant itself is mind-blowing. Such an amazing ambience. The food i expected to be as great but it was disappointing personally for me. It looks awesome but everything I tried was so average. Calamari was literally raw and tasted like a seaweed. Ricotta with mushrooms bruchetta lacking flavor. Ravioli was also so weird with that punkin and carrot chunks on the plate. I will not come back because there are way better Italian restaurants in Auckland that has much better menu variety and mind-blowing Italian dishes

Beautiful food and friendly staff. It's very large but filled with people on a rainy Monday evening. There's a nice buzzing sound with good music, but never too loud for an intimate conversation between guests. Can't fault anything. Highly recommended. Will definitely be back.

We have visited Amano a few times and it never disappoints. The Service is outstanding and the food delicious. The Oysters were excellent and the Pate absolutely delicious. Three of us had the Pan fried Flounder and one of our party had the Chargrilled squid, all very good. Sides were also very nice.

I had heard lots of great reviews about Amano and I can confirm expectations were met. Our group were passing and decided to try a coffee and a dessert. The trifle was spectacular as was the delicious coffee brought to us by a delightful server. I will be back but next time for more than just dessert.

Had a lovely team lunch at Amano this week. The food was lovely, the service was great. Really enjoyed the starters, selection of pasta dishes and the desserts were fantastic.

A beautiful large restaurant downtown with wonderful decorative dried flower ceiling hangings. Exquisite food and impeccable service. Great music at a nice volume so it doesn't drown the conversation. It only lost a star because of the many stairs to the toilets! There is a disabled toilet on the ground floor though.

Adored my visit. Not only do the staff have a secret vegan menu they will also tell you which wines are vegan (they have a couple by the glass available). A true delight.

Wow! This has to be one of the best food experiences in Auckland. The flavors are devine, the portions generous and the styling of the food is very appealing. Well with a visit.

Pretty place, great vibes and service from the staff. We were lucky to get a table within 15 minutes during dinner time even thou we had no reservations. Food, however was good. Buratta came with corn 🌽; not sure if I reallly enjoyed my cheese with corn but was different. Crudo was really good and refreshing. Chicken was good but slightly undercooked and was pink inside. The waiting time was long but expected given dinner service.

Nice place: Beautiful interior design & a good atmosphere. Friendly waiters that refill your water every few minutes. Food is beautifully served and tastes good. However the prices are too high for the portions: $40 for 6 Raviolis is way too expensive!
