SHAKSHUKA with the Lamb sausage - Recommended dish here. Very pleasant atmosphere, with heaps of items around the shop for sale which keeps the eyes busy as we awaited the food. Unfortunately the coffee machine was broken so didn't get to try out the coffee. Nice warm sunlight shone in and during the weekday it was actually not too busy. Will be back again to check out the seasonal changes of the menu!

Decent CBD cafe ☕️ Good coffee; excellent barista and roast. Lots of eats to choose from on menu and in cabinet display. Welcoming decor and nice (though tiny) bathrooms. The place is packed with organic/farm-to-table/sustainable/hipster products - the service is relaxed and slower than I’m used to but they are good people. The wait person was really busy (understaffed!) but took the time to notice the little things to make me comfortable… so why give only ⭐️⭐️⭐️? Well, I didn’t like my breakfast. The vegan overnight oats were $16 worth of snot textured gloop, I should have known it was coming with vegan chia - but still. The seating was cramped, they were understaffed (therefor slow), they don’t have free-flowing wifi (handing out codes instead for 25 minute long sessions) and the bread and several pastries were just sitting out on countertops and I saw a fly land on an expensive strudel.

Excellent at non welcoming stare. Kudos to the whole team, at first we thought may be it’s a busy day and people are tiered. Outdone yourself In your service, if it wasn’t for artisan products from hawks bay would never want to visit. Fellow cafe hoppers- please visit to experience. I still like to think it may have been one off discriminating experience. Luckily I didn’t pay Monopoly money here.

My partner, my friend, and I were here today. The staff are super sweet and friendly. The atmosphere was very chill, warm, and cosy. The dessert, tea, and hot chocolate were so yummy. We will definitely come back again!!! Thank you 🤗

Cozy place ;) the food was so good. I got the breast chicken and roasted potatoes. It was pretty noisy but I guess that's because this spot is very popular. I would come here again!

Fancy restaurant with high end charge but for poor customer service. Food is standard same as coffee. But for the price it is. Sorry not up to my standard. Did ppl nowadays just think sell organic n vegan so can charge 3- max time price is rip off customer or just aim for a noonish rich. Thx but no thx. Yes I order takeaway but staff seem not happy I order takeaway coffee n deliver with cup n not happy to change. Sorry it’s not like I make mistake from my side. U don’t need to apologize as it’s my fault to order takeaway coffee. If u rich n know nothing about food n coffee yes give good review But u don’t give review based on price as that is joke. Why bother giving review if u know nothing about customer service n food. Thx. I gave two stars as shop decorations is great with relax vibe but customer service is firing me up lol. Also just realized that I pay for the takeaway cup for 50cent. Omg.

We arrived at 4:30pm on a weekend so they were close to shutting up. I needed caffeine stat, but they had stopped the espresso machine. They helped me out with some black tea and then found some filter coffee too. Both the tea and the coffee were really good and the service was super despite the challenge of our timing. They did an excellent hot chocolate too.

Delicious breakfast and amazing service. The vibe just puts you in a good mood. They took longer then expected to make my coffee and let me chose anything I wanted from the counter on the house. You will not leave disappointed, very caring staff.

Good coffee, great treats! Beautiful ambience, very cozy and intimate. Feels like a little farmers market combined with a small coffee shop in a communal small town library. Love the cosmic blue spirulina latte!

Such a popular place! It was really crowded when we went there on Sunday for lunch. They have a really nice vibe and food. Service was really kind and professional, too.

Very cozy atmosphere! Aside from the fact that the seats were placed really close to each other, the cafe presented good environment for having meals and enjoying chats. Soup of the day was amazing and the bread was toasted really well. Almond milk foam on top of the coffee made my day. The

Awesome decor, awesome food and some of the friendliest staff I've met in my life. Highly recommend checking this place out if you're just exploring the CBD or on your way to the library or gallery. Now see why I was recommended to go here for so long, can't wait to come back!

Took my mate here for an afternoon coffee catch up although he paid hee hee. I've been before but it was years ago. I went for the (sweet) chai latte and I did like how I was asked whether I wanted it spicy or sweet. Good to see that this café is still going strong and I'll need to come back to try the food and check out the goods on sale. It would be a good place to check out for secret Santa gifts or any gift giving occasion really. I'll most likely come back for lunch when I'm working from the office. Good location and outdoor seating is available. Potential spot to start at before your shopping spree in town or to get some sustenance post-shopping spree.

Scarecrow is a culinary gem. Their Turkish egg and chorizo omelette is a flavor-packed delight, offering a unique twist on a classic breakfast dish. The staff is incredibly friendly, making for a warm and inviting atmosphere. The cafe itself is charming, and their coffee is simply outstanding. If you're in Auckland and looking for a cozy spot with delectable food and excellent coffee, Scarecrow is a must-visit.

Very nice cafe near Albert park and art gallery. A lot of local products available at this cafe as well. Good customer service and good vibe with mix of local and tourist guests around. Try their big breafast and egg on toast both very delicious.

Stopped in for a breakfast before our flight out. Ambiance is nice. Relaxing and bustling at the same time. A great place to come by yourself or with others. I had the greens with poached eggs and lemon oil and ricotta. Vegetables cooked perfectly tender without mushiness. Just enough cheese to enhance. The service was excellent. Very friendly. Lots of great items around the cafe to purchase as well should you need a gift to take home. Most items were made in NZ.

Lovely hostess. Counter staff friendly but told us kitchen was closed at 2.05. We'd been there about 20 mins chatting and looking at the menu. The hostess took our order and the food was very good. I had a lamb pot pie and my friend had a spinach and feta omlette. It's a lovely, lively place, full of character and charm.

I had the Good Morning Brioche and it was just super delicious! I really enjoyed the soft, chewy brioche with sweet berry compote and chantilly cream. Also love how there is a grocery section with a great selection of local artisanal products from NZ! Would recommend coming down early as it gets crowded later in the morning!

Had a nice breakfast at Scarecrow recently. It’s a really lovely grocer/bakery/restaurant tucked in the middle of downtown Auckland. The staff are lovely but it’s very disorganized. It was packed when I was there, with many people waiting around for a table. It wasn’t clear which staff members were responsible for showing you to a table- you never had the same server and were left to fend for yourself if you wanted to order food. I had to clear a spot for myself at a larger group table. Also, I ordered the big breakfast but it was very meat heavy, so I didn’t eat much of it- some fresh fruit or more toast would have been more enjoyable. Would try it again but they would benefit greatly from developing a more organized way of dealing with their heavy crowds!

Delicious brunch place in Auckland. Staff is very nice and friendly, the menu is amazing, went there twice during the 3-4 days I was in Auckland. Very cozy for a winter morning brunch. Highly recommend the halloumi mushroom bagel, earth harvest breakfast, shakshuka and french brioche toast.

This is a very conveniently placed cafe in Auckland's city. The staff are always friendly and eager to help. Scarecrow has a range of menu and cabinet items, catering to different dietary needs. Yum coffee and lovely atmosphere. The tables are slightly close together, but the bright space doesn't make it feel cramped. Happy to say I enjoy visiting here!

Awesome service. Very pleasant front of house. Fantastic chef. Best coffee. Eager to cater to my needs. Thank you for providing the best breakfast dining of our stay in Auckland.

Agree with others about coffee and ambiance. But visited a month ago and only got half the order. Had to go up and remind them after long wait and trying to attract attention. Tried the place again. Ignored by staff. I see someone else commented similarly. Don’t expect fawning servitude but maybe it is just regulars who get reasonable service?

Beautiful cafe!!! Easily the best coffee in CBD. Organic ingredients, lot's of vegetarian/vegan options. Plusss they have a grocer section for organic goodies!! Everything from my pantry is from here. Also amazingly friendly staff and services, makes you feel like home, love it when staff give you big smile, and remembers your coffee order. I literally come here everyday and i wouldn't know what to do if they close one day!!!

An overall disappointing experience. Tea infuser was too short for the teapot and didn’t steep efficiently. First order of poached eggs for both of us was over cooked and and the chef knew they were but served them anyway. The second (replacement) order was under cooked. We paid for our drinks and went to eat elsewhere. To be fair, the coffee my friend got was great.

On my trip from Canada, I stopped by Scarecrow and boy, it was amazing. You've got to try their pot pie - it's the best one I've ever had. The owner was super sweet and friendly, and we had a great chat. She even gave me a small pastry as a farewell gift since I was flying out that day. I can't wait to go back there again
