A very beautifully maintained rose garden where you can relax in the city. A friend brought me here. When you arrive at the garden, the scent of roses fills the air and you are greeted by an English-style rose garden. After taking my time to calm down and explore, I felt very enriched. Avoid entering flower beds. Some people received strict warnings from the administrators.

Small but mighty. Well maintained with moderate amount of visitors. Some roses are withering maybe the weather is too hot. Also saw a news lady recording some news using it as a background. Peaceful and beautiful. Highly recommended

I enjoy visiting these rose gardens when I am thinking something through. I like to surround myself with beauty as I ponder my options. Well worth a visit regardless of how you feel at the time.

This is such a great spot, that really should be protected and preserved. Even in winter it is a lovely peaceful place to visit. With a bunch of different roses with the most magical colours. Children running around , and other people just chilling and having lunch. There are also tones of quite secluded spots to sit if you need some quite time. I will definitely try visit again soon.

Exquisite spot to watch the sunset. The rose garden, despite its beauty, wasn't for me the highlight: the giant pohutakawa Te Ha ('the breath' in maori) is THE must-see in the park. Easily accessible from the main car park, it is full with character. This 180year-old tree has a sacred and strong past, however it is in danger: some memorial project threatening its life. There are few walking tracks to try more or less steep. Worth the visit!

Nice relaxing place for a picnic and close by busy Auckland city. Edge of the park you can have a bath in the sea and has a nice view.

It's free to visit. Ideal time is in November and December when the roses are in full bloom. Go on a weekend to get free parking. St George's bay road has weekend free parking.

My husband and I went to Dove Meyer Robinson Park yesterday afternoon 25/2/2024. The weather was not so good as it’s raining for the whole morning and afternoon. However, we still managed to enjoy our relaxing walk in the park. There were nobody there when we visited there. Therefore, it was so nice and quiet to avoid the hustle and bustle of the city centre every day! There are plenty of parking slots there so you need not worry about the parking problem. We highly recommend you to visit there as it’s very tranquil and peaceful.

Beautiful roses and other flowers. I especially loved the Nancy Steen Garden. Park boundaries start from corner of Gladstone Road (carpark overlooks mechanics bay) down to Judges Bay. Beautiful cafe - Luxerose. Sign at the front says dogs are supposed to be on leads.

The roses are fabulous! (If you like roses!) They are generally well labeled. If you are lucky enough to find a staff member working there - ask a question! Their knowledge is amazing!! There is an area of native Bush which is fabulous. All the trees are named to help one's perception of the Bush. The Cafe (and coffee) is superb!

Great place for a walk with the family filled with things to do, enjoy the gardens, or sit and relax with views that build memories to last a while.

Dove Myer Robinson Park has the most beautiful rose garden and as we got out of the car we were overwhelmed with the most beautiful smell of roses. Also we walked down to the lake and were lucky to sea an active hot spring, but beware of the horrible smell that comes with the experience

Pretty ambiance to have an aftee tea, they have $13 regular cake and a coffee, which is a very good deal. 💙 I’ve seen from other table that they are having high tea too. Good view of Parnell rose garden

Beautiful rose garden with lots and lots of roses, huge variety! One of the best laid rose gardens I've seen. They use grass paths to separate the beds, some straight, some curved. Very well done and well taken care of!

Good place for a picnic. There are rose gardens of course to see. But there is also plenty of space to picnic. It also has access to a beach with calm water as it’s kinda surrounded by land and looks like a lake. It is elevated and overlooks the port and a big part of the city.

A good place to rest our eyes ten took the power of mother nature for some more energy. Playing as a little girl in a rose garden. Breathe as deep as we need to fight with a piece of bad luck. Thx a lot Summerfest for bringing all of the blossoms.

We visited in January when most of the roses were blooming and they were gorgeous. The park is well looked after and has so many different roses to enjoy. Definitely worth the visit. The cafe on the grounds is also very good.

An amazing gem situated right in Parnell. Definitely a recommend especially in late spring when the roses are blooming. Also a good place for real enthusiastic swimmers as there is also an open gulf with a beautiful beach.

Really cool playground just opposite the road from the rose gardens. It’s secluded and quite, lots of greenery and some tables for sitting on. The equipment here is geared towards smaller children and will keep them occupied for a good while. Parking either on Gladstone roadside or Balfour Road. Would be a perfect hangout place during summer, great for picnics.

Great place to catch up with family and friends. Good food, friendly staff and the rose garden is hard to miss in season!

  • 5/5 Elissa S. 2 years ago on Google
An awesome and really well kept rose garden, great to visit in the summer months when the roses are blooming and thriving. All sorts of different coloured roses to see and look at with name labels, and other plants to go and look at too. There are plenty of shady spots to sit down in for a rest too, and there is a cafe you can go to near the front parking area. There are public toilets, and a water fountain. Easy to get to from the CBD, and a great place to visit on a sunny afternoon.
