👍👍 Te Uru is a wonderful contemporary art gallery. Highest recommendation. This is the place to come to in order to experience exciting new art. The building is a brilliant example of Judy Stout and David Mitchell's architecture. Here's some close up photos of the architecture's careful detailing. Wond... I am in love! This gallery is spacious, 5 leveled and filled with stunning, engaging art. There is even a rooftop terrace to take beautiful, scenic photos and take a moment to admire the nature around you.

If you like minimalism you will love Te Uru. Vast spaces with minimal art. Less is not more. A shame, it's a beautiful building that should be buzzing with the works of Aucklands best artists on display. What is the curator thinking? I go every year there are often more staff than visitors.

Architecturally this is a fascinating building with all sorts of interesting angles and shapes of walls and rooms. The ambience of the environment was warm and light. The display rooms were inviting and enhanced the artworks they were displaying. The gallery shop held beautiful items, many of which I would purchase if I had the money. I would encourage people to go and soak up the positive energy.

Although it’s a small art gallery, it offers a variety of art pieces on display. The art building itself has interesting history.

Te Uru Waitākere Contemporary Gallery is an absolute gem! This is the place to come to if you want to experience new and contemporary art. They change their exhibits and installations often, to make every visit fresh and interesting. Your personal taste will inform the visit. Some contemporary installation are brilliantly inspired and inspiring, and showcases local New Zealand history and artists. Although I could appreciate the passion and effort that went into creating those works of art, I just didn't "get" some of the pieces. The building itself is an architectural marvel. It also offers beautiful outside views, displaying the wooded areas and the harbour as art itself. Well worth a visit!

This is a world class facility. The building is worth visiting irrespective of what is on display. They don't have a permanent collection so it changes constantly but they do have some really fabulous offerings.

Really enjoyed seeing the Rita Angus exhibition. There was a good range of her paintings on display. There was free public parking on the road right outside the door

Great gallery and interesting collection. Not that many visitors early afternoon so I had plenty of time to look around. Lovely staff.

Superb building showing both local and national artists. Elizabeth Thompson's exquisite moths and Tia Ranginui's photographs are stand outs! Plus there's a cafe next door where you can sit by the window with a beer and watch the world go by.

What a superb building- a gem in the bush. I’ve not been to Titirangi Village before and I was more than impressed with this Art Gallery. Something to be proud of and a real find. Pieces for sale in the gallery shop were impressive and something to consider if you are looking for that special gift. We’ll worth the visit.

What a great exhibition space! Highly recommend just going in to look out the windows at the view. But the exhibitions are high quality too. Plenty of parking on the street

I loved this place so much. It’s got so many surprises to discover on the 4 levels. An amazing insight into our NZ history in one gallery too. It was such a breathtaking experience. My fave piece was this teapot & the explanation of its creation
