What a hidden gem! Gardens are well maintained with easy walk trails. Heaps of seating/resting spaces along the trail. Plenty of outdoor space for a picnic too. Bonus butterfly sanctuary also. Beautiful garden and indoor space where you can hold functions at a decent cost. Entry is currently $3 pp if you are just browsing.

Its a beautiful garden with pathways and trees, shrubs, flowers and peace. Which includes a wood. It only costs $5???? I was amazed by that. The butterfly house was my favourite part. I stood in awe watching Monarchs flying, feeding, mating . They danced around my head and hands. The colours of them and flowering shrubs was wondering. I will be going again when I next go to Auckland

$3 entry and a good couple of parking soaces if you wish to hire the venue. The garden itself was nice. Lots of benches and seating if you wish to rest or have some time of reflection? There is a native tree loop track, and other tracks with different trees and plants from different countries. Loved the flowers here. As for the butterflies, none spotted when I was there.

So lovely and quiet here. Boys had a blast. We had a picnic, bought packs of seeds for 50c and caught up with friends

A quaint little garden hidden in the a residential area. Needs a little more development but has potential to be a lovely secret spot to take the kids. There's a small butterfly enclosure with a few Monarchs.

We were able to visit this place due to school trip from my daughter’s school. It must have been a good place but our timing was not perfect because it was a rainy day. If I am not mistaken, there was a fee but very minimal. You can roam the garden in 1 hour. I love that it has a walk trail you can follow. Signs are everywhere so you won’t get lost. In addition, there are toilets in the area. For the butterfly garden area, it was an enclosed area to keep the butterflies safe. There are quite a number of them and kids will love seeing them fly.

I'm so happyyyyy! This place is beautiful. I was there a few months ago, and there weren't any butterflies, but today there were dozens! It's so peaceful to just relax in the butterfly house and explore the beautiful vast gardens

It is a great space with wandering paths through gardens filled with a variety of trees and flowers. You can also wander through the butterfly house and visit the monarch butterflies. Such a quiet and peaceful place for a wander or a sit down.

Pretty little place in middle of the hustle and bustle. Fantastic butterfly house, full of life. Loved it hear, for just $5 was great. Definitely a place to revisit, next time I'll bring a pic nic. Beautiful gardens, so many birds. Hidden gem.

What a beautiful place and such friendly staff! I booked the community room at West Lynn Gardens for my birthday party last weekend and it was the perfect space. Really reasonable price too! Thanks so much, I had a lovely party :)

Lush and a riot of color, despite the poor weather, the gardens are clearly a labor of love. Developed and maintained by volunteers, it's a great way to spend a lazy afternoon. The entrance fee is just $5, so it's not really a drain on your resources. There are toilets, a couple of picnic tables, and a butterfly house. We didn't see any butterflies because it was too cold for them. However, the lady at the entrance didn't tell us this until after we had paid the entrance fee. That said, it was a lovely break from the urban jungle just to sit down and take in the lovely bromeliads, orchids, and other plants.

It's small but pretty and well sectioned. Perfect for wedding photos. Also, for a fee, you can place a memorial plaque for your loved ones. Has a nice room for hire. And when the butterflies are out in full force, wonderful.

Beautiful little garden, we didnt see any butterfly but one, according to the brochure they will be around from December. I hope they feed the fish :)

A wonderful natural retreat right in the Auckland suburbs, easily accessible by public transport. Despite not having any butterflies in winter, the ambience and tranquility of the garden is absolutely breathtaking. From the various greens and links of the plants to the chirping of birds, the butterfly house is a perfect place for relaxing in beautiful Mother Nature. Better still, the area is well maintained by the cheerful and friendly staff who are absolutely delightful ti chat with. It won't be an exaggeration to say that this garden is like a slice of NZ nature at its best. Definitely worth the $5 entrance fee! .

Awesome place to walk around with little ones! And as an adult! So many paths you could take and beautiful areas, with plenty of signage for you to read and learn about the plants!

Used this venue for a remembrance service - second time using the venue. Spacious, clean, well setup, and reasonable fees. Has good parking - not a lot - and a wonderful chance for visitors to look around the butterfly house and the extensive gardens. Usually $5 but free for attendees at an event. And you can volunteer there too.

Went when it was a bit wet. Expected a better butterfly warm house, not an outdoor butterfly house with butterflies learning how to swim. The gardens were a bit unkempt also. The botanical gardens in south Auckland are so much better and they're free. We had to pay $5 each for those gardens so was very disappointed

Very nice garden walks and well maintained all by Volunteers. Well done them. To view the butterflies at their best Best advice is spring into summer time. Lots of shaded areas to picnic too and dont forget to look up in the trees too. Great customer service

What a wee treasure to find....the gardens were beautiful with lots of seats for ua oldies to sit on while exploring. The butterfly house was lovely with lots of monarch butterflies. At $5 for entry it was defi itely well worth the visit. Credit to all involved in its upkeep😀

Everything there for event. Staff members were great. A little small if covering an event for more than 60 people but everything there. Too bad the weather was bad so could not use the gardens.

This place is absolutely beautiful. It's cared for by so many lovely people too. It is smaller than expected though so we always go during quieter hours. Can't wait to go during butterfly season :)
