Some of the best falls in Auckland with a short 5 min walk from the beach carpark (parking is very limited) just some helpful notes are that the road to the Falls are very narrow and you will have to stop and allow cars to pass in places. If you are not a confident driver you may find this intimidating in places. Go slow.

Karekare falls main carpark is the best option to park, there is toilet facilities here, also has other walks to beach as well. From carpark walk over the bridge then 50 or so meters up the road on the left will be a sign (LA Trobe track) where you can also see top of waterfall, thats where the walkway starts, it's a very easy walk to base of waterfall IG📷_leon_04

This is a great waterfall to visit. The mostly single lane road to get there is a bit annoying so be careful with that. Stop and park at the Kare Kare Car Park and then walk along further up the road to the Latrobe Track. The waterfall is a short and easy walk from the road.

The height of the falls were quite spectacular. It was a bit weak, because we haven't had a lot of rain, but it was still worth it. The track is a bit hard to find. When you park in the main carpark, then follow the signs. Then you have to cross the little wooden bridge, and keep walking up that massive hill. There are no signs, but just keep going. Be careful, because there is no sidewalk. When you've almost reached the top of the hill, there is a sign foe a walking track off to your left. It doesn't say anything about the falls, but that's where it is. After about 5 steps, you will see the waterfall peeping through the trees on your left. When it's flowing heavily, you can see it from the roadside. It's quite steep, and slippery in places, so don't go with jandals. At the end of the downhill slope is a small waterfall. Off to your left is a comfortable walking track, that takes you to the main falls

Another amazing place to go for families in western Auckland. The waterfalls pours from the hill top to the bottom with an easy access to the pond at the bottom. Kids would definitely love to play around for a couple of hours there

Nice place. Very close from the road. Nice spot for kids and adults. Keep in mind that there are lots of people during summer sunny days and it could be a bit hard to find carpark during peak hours.

You can reach the waterfall now by following the restricted access road to the beach car park. From the car park entrance on foot, turn right and follow the road for 2 minutes until you can see the falls in the distance to the left, then turn onto the pathway on the left that leads you down through a small forested area straight to the falls - five minutes to paradise! This was our waterfall number 121 on our search to see all the waterfalls in the world - youtube channel PackLunchandTravel, to follow our journey.

Amazing place only 5 mn walk for the car park. You feel the beauty of NZ, the strength of the sea and its waves, the darkness of sand that reflect the greenness of the vegetation … And do not hesitate to take a walk to the waterfall that is another 5 mn from the car park. Beautiful.

Single lane small road to reach here. Park at the beach carpark & walk further up till you see a yellow trail sign. Quick 10mins walk to the fall. Recommended.

Walk was nice and short. The falls is beautiful and the track is somewhat maintained. There was a good amount of litter and rubbish left on the track. Would probably be good for council or locals to provide a bin for the lazy people who can't take their rubbish back home.

The main road is closed but you can go in other routes, there is no sign for the waterfall so go up from the car park for 3 minute and look for a small path in the first on your left side, from there it’s literally few minutes walk. The way temperatures is great and I still feel sorry I didn’t get in.

An exquisite location for an immersive telurian experience. A swim in the waterfall following a swim in the nearby beach, it all you need to make a great day. Several spots to chill and appreciate the view.

About a 5 minute walk off the road to the falls. There is a smaller waterfall with pool on the way that you can have a dip in. Park at the main karekare beach car park, go over the bridge and then it's signposted with a yellow sign for the track. Well worth the little walk. (My 63 year old mum did it with no issues)

Very easy and short walk. We enjoyed the small pools as you come in and climbed up to the others. Can get really busy.

Words, (nor the endless amounts of pictures and videos), can describe New Zealand's beauty that's seen everywhere. You have to see the nature with your own eyes, hear the endless calls from the multitude of birds that call these islands home with your own ears, and smell the fresh, crisp air with your own nose, in order to truly and completely enjoy everything New Zealand has to offer.

Beautiful place waterfall is gorgeous. The walk is nice and short and very easy, 5 mins with gravel track. Very picturesque and stunning place. The waterfall is magical and loud and is a big waterfall so you won’t be disappointed. Nice spot for a picnic as well. Totally recommend this spot.

A beautiful waterfall that’s more beautiful in winter or after rain. It’s quite tall & broad, and just a short walk aside the road. The only catch is that it does not have its own car park so park your car at a beach car park & walk uphill a bit before u reach there. There’s a much smaller waterfall on your way down to the main one.
