Great venue for live music. Acoustics are good. Has a massive organ. Pic seats carefully as for some you can't see the whole stage. Update: lost a star, the bar wouldn't let me buy a drink for a friend, clearly not intoxicated, quite strange policy.

We went to watch Steve Hackett live, was really good. An amazing show! Town Hall is well maintained, the seats were comfortable, staff polite, the bar was open with a few options for drinks. Toilets clean and tidy. It a great experience.

Really disappointed with the show I went to watch tonight, the show was fantastic but the staff / stewart's ruined it completely! There was someone sat x6 spaces away from me, not in my group, who was filming small sections of the show - I was sat near an isle and on two occasions, for several minutes, I had different stewards frantically asking me to tell a stranger (sat meters away) to stop recording? Sadly I won't come see another show here because I can't bear to spend so much money and have my night spoilt.

Good show today. It's the 1st time the boys watched show in the town hall. They were impressive by the artistic design in the building.

Oh, I absolutely loved how the musicians' shoes were the highlight of the evening. It's not like we could see anything else from that sky-high platform, right?

Beautiful architecture and perfect for all manner of events. HOWEVER, was the air conditioning not working on the night of Rupi Kaur's poetry evening? Rupi certainly commented on the heat and I had to walk out a third of the way through because I thought I was going to faint. The person that accompanied me also commented on the heat, as did others around me. I think this is something that should be looked at.

The Auckland Town Hall organ is an awe inspiring machine if you get to hear it. For orchestral music the hall has the best acoustics you could ask for. The general interior has been kept well since the revamp a decade or so ago. Over all ambience is great. Pick up and dropoffs for elderly is now a challenge since Queen St has been narrowed. Boooo. Otherwise I always enjoy going to our 1911 Town Hall.

So annoying being herded like sheep walking in a zig zag for a mile to get a non-alcoholic drink! Might be OK for younger folk, but there needs to be a 50+ queue that's shorter!

Nice looking from the outside. The architecture and design details are also worth one's time.

It's an old building, but it's well maintained and shows are often held here. Living historical artifacts.

One of New Zealand's most important heritage buildings, Auckland Town Hall is a stunning backdrop for any event. Attractive stained-glass windows, ornate plasterwork and spectacular chandeliers combine to make this a beautiful venue.

Still a majestic venue, especially great for musical performances like Handel's Messiah.

Great concert venue. We love it there especially for ASO concerts. The Christmas one was so lovely with space for a full choir and the massive organ behind

A beautiful historic building that hosts small to medium shows, plays and live music and seminars. Building is very old and has the British architecture feeling with Maori. Totally loved it. It is owned and maintained by Auckland Council
