Have been a member for about 3 weeks now, and it is a very nice facility no complaints about that. Just wanted to highlight some inappropriate comments that were made by a staff member to myself and a group of females who were taking a tour of the gym. During our tour given by a male employee, the second floor (cardio) area was described to us as the place where most of the women work out, and the third floor (weight training) was described as where most of the men work out. After that, another friend of ours asked if the gym was hiring as she had experience working at a gym. The staff member responded by asking if she was "just a receptionist." I believe it was the same staff member. Just hope he learns from this review that that is entirely inappropriate and sexist behaviour, especially when working at a co-ed gym. Women can lift, men can do cardio, and women can be more than receptionists :)

The place it's really spacious and has a lot of implements to train. The only negative point are the bathrooms, the guys pee a lot outside in the floor and when you go to the shower and when you go back to the lockers you have to pass thru. Some of the showers are a bit broken and the soap sometimes it's broken too. But in general it's really good!

Probably the best 24/7 gym (compared to others in the vicinity) in Auckland CBD/Queen Street with great support staff and trainers. World class equipments/facilities with reasonable membership fee.

One of the best City Fitness gyms! A+

For lack of a better word, gloomy and dangerous. There are no windows upstairs so no natural light. The walls are painted black and the lights are all fluorescent and there are so many it kills your eyes. If people who train there don't know any different then they'll be fine. The dangerous part is if there is a fire or an earthquake, first thing to go are the lights. So having walls painted mat black isn't very smart. People always panic and in there it will be a nightmare. Frankly I have no idea who signed off on the color scheme, it makes no sense.

I have been training with PT Joey for a while now. My friends originally introduced me to him and indeed they also still train with him and we have not looked back. I know that I would never have achieved the level of fitness and wellness I have, if not for the personal attention given in my training sessions. Joey is always very encouraging and has amassed a vast knowledge of his profession. I would definitely recommend Joey, having also trained with a couple of the other trainers in LesMills, Jetts, etc. I aim to achieve my fitness goals and maintain a good level of fitness with Joey's help for a long time to come.

Gym is very filthy!! They often run out of wipes which is a concern given theres a lot of sickness going around. Their reason is they've ran out, a better stock management would solve this issue. I also have to always tell them when the bathroom needs a good clean. I thought after i first raise the issue, the regional manager will monitor this but obviously need to be told multiple times. Maybe i should manage the gym hygiene. Kinda disappointing since they have good space and equipment.

Have always come in the mornings before work. Gym doesn’t seem too crowded, I’ve never had to wait around for equipment to be free. Showers and locker space are also ample.

The Gym is huge multilevel fitness center with good equipments and machine's. but don't join if your serious about fitness as you wont get to use any equipments. Before posting this i came across multiple occasions of same behavior where the person was occupying the machine for quite a long but the problem was that he was using the machine less and using his phone 🀳 and talking with his mate in between sets longer than normal.(this time almost 20-30 minutes) And i find this very disrespectful as everyone pays to use the gym.I know its one of the cheapest gym $6.99(but some do pay $13.99 myself one of thoseπŸ˜†) and find it waste of time and money . Gym is all about discipline, gone the days where people actually came for fitness and healthy body and mind. Management wont be bother with this review but thought maybe this will help others.

Spacious gym, friendly staff and a big shout out to trainer Joey. I signed up with him, as I found it impossible to make faster progress, through cookie cutter training programs. Having someone who can tailor my workouts, to what my goals are, has been invaluable. Given the amount of time and effort by my trainer and considering the fact they do daily check-ins makes it well worth the cost and great for accountability And honestly, for the first time ever, I am actually enjoying working out. I’m already seeing great improvement in my flexibility and strength! I’m excited to continue and would definitely recommend trainer Joey as he goes above & beyond, exceeds all expectations. He is incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, attentive, professional, courteous, committed and quite the cheerleader, which is what I need.

Clean, huge gym with tons of cardio equipments (treadmill, stepper, row), assisted weight machines and free weights. They have drinking water, antibacterial wipes for equipments, hand sanitizers and lockers. A good investment for health conscious people.

A decent gym at the reasonable price. The staffs are friendly. The equipments/weights are well-sanitised. In the peak hours, there are high chances that not everyone gets to use their desired equipments/weights. It is still a public space, so everyone should know the basic manners or etiquette in the building (Do not be a Gym Douche).

Not sure if this the first city fitness gym in Auckland but it needs a lot of attention. Male toilets urinals, you need a gas mask to walk pass it, it's a plumbing issue you can see it's constantly leaking goes into the drywall and vinyl, showers get cleaned daily but the black mold in the corners top of the tiles is too much. Also little spots of mold all over the ceiling showers. Rubbish all over the lockers and gym space , broken equipment in the gym , ripped leather on most the machines. This gym needs an urgent renovation

It is a very good gym, spacious with a wide variety of machines, it has the necessary hygiene items, showers and a hair dryer. The staff is very friendly, regardless of the fact that English is not your first language.

I hate going there because it's the closest to my university and one of the most affordable gyms. The biggest issue is the hygiene in the men's bathroom, which is absolutely horrible; you can always smell the stench, and I've never experienced it being clean no matter when I go. When you walk past three or four staircases, there's a disgusting smell coming from them, and I have to hold my breath. Sometimes the machines are taken, but that’s fine because it’s normal for City Fitness. However, what I really don’t like is that some machines, such as the standing calf raise and leg extension, have hard cushions that hurt my bones, making it difficult to lift. I have no problems with working out, but I hate going there because of the poor hygiene and not being able to do leg day due to the hard cushions on certain machines

Excellent facilities and lots of equipment. Being 24 hours is a huge bonus as well as price. Les Mills is about $30 a week with limited times. City fitness $17 a week. My only issue is equipment not being put away. But that's more members than facility.

It's a great gym, ive been here for a few years, SOME of the staff are great people and some of the people you neet are good too. But if you want a real vibe and a good time while your losing weight, South Auckland is where it's at, I don't care what anyone says, SA is unbeatable!.

Good gym and convenient for after work sessions, staff always friendly and approachable. Have let me in a few time with my phone number when I've forgotten my tag which other City fitness branches get annoyed at.

Really like this gym, it’s spacious and has so many equipments. The staff are friendly. People are minding their own business. It’s pretty cool. If you are looking for a PT, I strongly recommend Joey. He’s such a professional trainer. He plays around with tempos, supersets, and just gives very effective exercises. He’s the BEST periodtttt. He respects and encourages you along the way. I enjoy working out and being trained by him :D

Enough facilities and spacious place both down and up stairs but a few times went there ( not after hours) the staff hide somewhere or back office . We rang the bell waited no one came out which is annoying to be honest.

Used to go to CityFitness years ago (old location), changed gym to try something else but came back ASAP! Massive gym, always clean, lots of equipment, good price, great classes and teachers. (If I can suggest something - could we please have more classes on the weekend ☺️)

Good gym but no one's at the counter they need to employ less cleaners and more staff. Very big, clean & plenty of machines; problem is it's all incredibly generic and lacks and character. From the second you walk in you know it's a chain with a suit & tie who's never set foot in a gym running each region. Albany is the last survivor if you can call it that.

  • 5/5 Craig 1 year ago on Google
Good sized gym. Lots of equipment and clean and well presented. Equipment vary rarely out of service. Good mix of cardio machines and free weights available.

  • 5/5 John L. 1 year ago on Google
Located amongst the shopping plaza, it's a multi-level Compaq site. So if you're needing kore equipment and weights, ride up the escalator for more. Showers, toilets and locker room for the men and women. Music to keep you motivated plays or bring your own headset and listen to your Playlist. Wifi is available free to all members in case you need the data hook up, just look for your membership # on the back of your tag.

Preferred city fitness out of all the ones in auckland I've been too. Heaps of equipment not too crowded plenty of room to work out

Very large gym with plenty of equipment and nearly no natural lighting. The multi level layout makes it kind of interesting though.

  • 1/5 A A R. 1 year ago on Google β€’ 1 review
No natural light, Poor ventilation upstairs. Air conditioner cooling isn't high enough, not to mention the Asian trainers that keep switching off the fans upstairs every damn time. Instead of having a million treadmills & cycles, it would be nice if you have more adjustable pulleys and other strength training equipments, as it's hard to find an empty one during peak hours because let's face it, the treadmills never get all that full even during peak hours.
