Beautiful lake which is a volcano, about 150,000 years old. Apparently It is an explosion crater which has formed a basin. The crater has been filled with fresh water When volcanic activity ceased, the crater filled with fresh water, forming a 107-hectare lake. Lake has also got a wooden bridge and a pump house near by. White & Black swans around make it a natures beauty at its best.

Peaceful lake, pleasant day. Good place for having a small picnic or breakfast at lake, nice lake view and greenery around the area with parking nearby. No alcohol in this area at all times. Boating club is also within the area.

An amazing place with lake view. No entry tickets. Good for children to relax & play. Most of the people come here with their kayaks on weekends to have fun because of the serenity of this place. You will find Tarapukas everywhere along with Black Geese. Pls make sure not to feed them as it's a restricted place in terms of feeding birds. Must must visit incase you are first timers. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€

the locals here are quite odd, if you try to get near them they swim away from you, they stick their heads in the water and they quack at you

Lovely and quiet place to send a time with your loved ones. Beautiful view. One of those few lake in Auckland which is not connected to sea. It has very important significance in geological science. I totally loved. Good place to take your date for a walk.

Calm and serene. Walkable distance from the main road. Good to see the lake during day time only as the evenings during June end is very cold as compared to other suburbs of Auckland.

Beautiful calm lake. Small enough to easily circumnavigate via kayak within an hour. Lots of wildlife in the Fiona around the edges. Plenty of natural sights around the edges, despite being right in the middle of Takapuna, along with many well maintained lakeside properties.

I got to visit this beautiful park and lake when I attended the Yoga in the Park that Meditation New Zealand hosted. It was such a beautiful experience. The park is absolutely big, dogs are welcome. Parking inside is limited but decently-sized, I think. The day I visited it was full. There is a clean public toilet. There are tables fronting the park and the lake. You can also opt to bring your own picnic mat and lay out on the grass. Such a beautiful place to hang out with friends and family <3
