I call this the farm in the city. I love coming here to watch cows and sheep graze. They are released on pasture, fenced off. You don't have to worry about them passing their poop, or they blocking your passage. Sometimes I see some peacocks, chickens and even ducks come here. Halfway up the hill there is a cafe with a good view. There is a BBQ area, it's near the main parking lot of the park. Especially in winter there is a very beautiful magnolia garden and a cherry blossom path around October.

Cornwall Park is a gigantic public park for everyone. It has a cafe and a dedicated exercise area with few equipment. Endless beautiful walk trails with both open and dense lush green spaces. Ample parking and clean toilets. The best part is no matter how busy it gets, you will still find a space for you to do something interesting.

An absolutely stunning park that possesses rugged hillside, tranquil orchids, active farmland, manicured gardens and a wonderful 360 degree view of the city. Lovely to visit all year round but particularly during spring and autumn. Needs multiple visits to be properly explored in full! A great place to go with the dog, but just be aware that some areas are off limits to dogs during certain times of years.

Visited Cornwall Park during the spring season last year. Completely forgot to add the review then. As the spring is approaching, I remembered the visit to the park. It was an awesome experience. The cherry blossoms were blooming. It was really beautiful. I clicked many pictures. Even during COVID times, there were many people there. Pretty easy walk through the park.

A very tranquil park that winds in amongst sheep and cattle paddocks, including the ability to enter the sheep paddock and get close to them. Very green. Paved sidewalks and road for easy walking access. Nice for an afternoon stroll.

This is one of the best spots in Auckland!!! I’m a photographer, so every corner presents a new photo opportunity🙌 I love this spot for photo shoots, catching up with friends and dog friendly! So many flowering trees. The cafe is an absolute MUST as well! Family friendly and a cute kids playground too.

Love this place. So peaceful and calming. Always a lots of cars there but the park is so big you don't feel it is busy at all. The fact that you can walk amongst the cows and sheep puts a smile on my face every time. Love it

A clean fresh and safe park for morning walk, amongst sheep and vows, but on city fringe. Access to One Tree Hill top opened for walkers. Cafe inside the park is super nice, bean bags are available for having breakfast on grass

It’s a Beautiful park in Auckland, it’s huge and has plenty of space to have picnic with family.. there lots of old and huge trees it’s a very relaxing place. We use to come here and we usually bring our bikes and you can bike around the park. You can also climb up to One tree a hill area it is overlooking and has amazing ambiance. During Autumn this park doesn’t miss to surprise you.. and during spring there are groups of cherry blossoms.. there is also a nice coffee shop inside that offers lots of yummy food so if you have no time to prepare a food for lunch then don’t worry as they serve lunch as well.. 😊check this park and you will surely love it!!

What a large area full of huge trees, beautiful flowers, and shady spots with cafes and toilets, and water fountains...this was my first time at Cornwall park and must return someday soon to soak it all on as a day isn't enough. Great maintenance...well done to the team behind this beautifully kept park for all to enjoy!

What a beautiful place! Livestock, an amazing park, a nice visitors center and all the amazing trees you can take in. Don't skimp on the walk up to the monument, the view is incredible, but make sure to hold on to your hats and glasses, it gets powerfully windy up there!

An extremely elegent park where you can enjoy the spring under cherry blossom. You can find different species of trees over there. In fact, more than 100 years old trees. This park is a peaceful vast area where you can enjoy, jogging 🏃‍♂️, spending time with your friends and family and even alone in the heart of the busy Auckland city.

One of the most amazing parks I have ever been too in the whole world!! Lots of parking, drinking water, toilets, wild life and you can spend hours there! Definitely recommend walking around the whole park and up the hill to see the view! Total km 6.6 if you walk around the whole past and go up to the memorial hill!

This is such a great park just on the outskirts of the city. There is plenty of grassy areas to walk and run around in. There is also a kids playground by the observatory. You have to walk up to the summit but there is parking close to it. There are also a lot of other things to see around the park such as the rotunda or the myriad of trees lining the paths. There is also a cafe if you were getting pecking or want an indoor rest. There isn't a way to drive from the main entrance on Greenlane West to the playground area so you'd have to get out of the park and get in the other entrance. It is a nice place to spend a few hours or so just being outside.

Over the last few months I have been conducting an anthropology project in Cornwall park through observation. This has shed new light on the park and opened up the immensity of its structure and function for the public. Getting to know the park over the last few months, I have observed many different elements to the park and it is a place that surprises on every visit !

cornwall park in the spring is such a treat - little lambs everywhere, daffodils and trees regrowing their leaves. v v good spot to walk around as it starts to warm up

  • 5/5 Donna M. 7 months ago on Google
Cornwall Park is so close to the city but feels more like a visit to the countryside. Currently the Spring lambs are calling to their mothers and baby calfs are such a delight to see. I recently visited Cornwall Park and walked around the perimeter which took two hours. There are several carparks located within the park as well as cafes and restaurants. The toilet facilities were adequate and cleaner than I expected. It was the first time that I had walked around the whole perimeter at once. Now I must challenge myself to do this more regularly.

Love love love this gorgeous park! Very well kept with many walking trails and plenty of space for picnics or gatherings. Clean public restrooms. I especially love the many birds chirping throughout the park, and very much enjoyed seeing the beautiful cattle, sheep and roosters! The hike up to One Tree Hill was beautiful as well!

A really special place something so peaceful about it when you drive into Cornwall Park from greenlane you can feel the history what an amazing guy John Logan Campbell he created this park for generations to enjoy I was born just up the road and national women's and across the road at the showgrounds they would have the Easter show and Cornwall park is always been so special to me

Nice park with very good 360 views around the city. The car access is limited for the top part of the park, but there's sufficient parking by that time to accommodate the visitors. On sunny days, the park is full of people relaxing on the grass and having picnics. On rainy days, pay attention that there're very few shelters to hide from rain it gets pretty window up the hill. The park also has public toilets, but they're not that close together and may need a good walk till reaching one. Finally, it's easy to get to the park using public transport from various parts of the city and if one needs some groceries for the picnic, there's a Pak'n'Save nearby and several food courts.

Absolute gem of a park. Spacious, green, well-maintained. The walk to the summit is just arduous enough to get a little sweat on, but the view makes up for it. A 360 degree view encompassing the Hauraki Gulf on one side and the Waitematā Harbour on the other, stunning. Have a walk around the imposing cenotaph once you’re at the summit.

More than one tree... This park definitely has been around for many years and the fact that every corners of the park are amazingly well kept, it deserves a 5 stars rating. The ambiance in this park produces peace and tranquility, and while it drizzles, and waiting for my wife, I fell asleep. Definitely a 5 star rating park!

Cornwall Park is an expansive parkland in Epsom near the heart of Auckland, New Zealand, surrounding the park containing Maungakiekie pa or the hill of One Tree Hill. The two independent parks form one large park of 670 acres (270 hectares). Cornwall Park is an Oasis in Auckland City. The Park has centuries-old heritage sites, wide-open spaces, tree lined avenues and walks, places of peace and tranquility in a large city, sports grounds including tennis and bowls and a working farm for the education of city children. John Logan Campbell, Auckland resident since 1840 and, at the time of this gift, mayor, gave the park's 230 acres to a private trust on 10 June 1901. The adjoining Park Maungakiekie had been purchased by the national government in 1845. Campbell chose to present the deeds the following day to the visiting heir to the throne, the Duke of Cornwall and York later George V asking his consent for it to be named Cornwall Park in honour of the Duke. A few weeks later the adjoining Alexandra Park was named in honour of the Duke's mother.

Cornwall Park has something for everyone, right through the year..Plenty of parking, two Cafe, including the new one near Greenlane end, my favorite part of Cornwall Park are the free wood BBQS..There's about 6 in front of the circular carpark, and the park ranger supplies all the wood mostly prepared for making a fire 🔥 ..and cooking sausages. The kids love this unique Urban experience. Particularly good after a family walk in the park and nearby One Tree Hill Domain. I love the big trees too,.and farm animals and daffodils and tulips 🌷 in early spring..A truly beautiful place..Make a picnic and take your friends..One of the biggest green areas in central Auckland, its truly memorable all year round for walking and family fun, or individually.
