Long walk, terrible parking, no bins or toilets, loses sun really early in the afternoon, steep track hard work going up, no good for bad knees. Smelly fishing rubbish and mudflats at low tide. 😜

It's a historical place. Where British and Maori make contact with them. Treaty of waiteengi was singed here.

Nice quiet & private beach. Small. No toilet facilities. Makes you wonder if everyone goes in the water :( Long steep walk back up to the carpark. Don't bring too much gear if you don't want to carry it back up. A few more trees for shade on a really hot day would be nice.

Really lovely low key beach, was an absolute beautiful day we went and wasn't to busy/overcrowded the parking situation is a bit sketchy though as it's very narrow and hard to find a decent spot so just go slow and be extra careful for people walking up and down.

We went here during the holidays we couldnt find parking and so we left. We went there again during the week in the evening and find that most of the residents nearby park their cars where it's supposed to park for the beach. There was only a few pple there so very private. Very steep so be very careful going down and a bit of a hike going up. The water was very dirty from leaves and branches on the beach so was very disappointed. No toilets as well.

Worst place ever, rolled my ankle on a pothole. Heaps of rubbish everywhere, and no car parking, would not recommend anyone going here EVER! 🪬

Stunning place. Worth a visit however be warned... it's a walk down a spiral path and steep climb afterwards!

Not the easiest to access but nice and secluded bay with historical significance.

It takes me about 20 minutes to run from my place to Karaka Bay. I went for my first swim of the year yesterday. It’s the most secluded paradise with very few people which is great. Very private and the water is clean and beautiful to swim in. The views are stunning when you catch your breath from the steep climb back to the road. St Heliers is a lovely beach but it’s too crowed. I am so lucky to be able to run/walk to Karaka Bay. From an adoring Karaka Bay Beach fan, Angie Wilkin, Glendowie, Auckland :)

👍👍 Grab a coffee and walk down to the beach (St Heliers Home Cookery is great, cakes are superb but it gets busy in the morning). Plenty others. Walk on the boardwalk and chill. Not too busy as many visitors stop at Mission. Moretons is good for a beer and you can sit outside and look over the sea. Sup...
