Everything from the initial consultation, through to the scheduling of investigations, surgical booking and subsequent hospital stay ran extremely smoothly. Dr Muammar Abu-Serriah completed a complex sialendoscopy for me. I am a chronically unwell and unfortunately rather complicated autoimmune patient. As well as his professional and warm manner and his skilled and experienced surgical abilities resulting in a successful surgery, I was most impressed with his attitude towards my situation. He listened to these, collaborating with me to make sure my surgical plan (extended hospital stay together with longer IV antibiotic treatment after surgery) was completed successfully. I had bilateral a tmj arthroscopy and arthrocentesis surgery with Dr Muammar in april, I had a great experience and felt really well informed about what I was having done. I had a super quick wait time between my first appointment and my surgery which Dr Muammar had mentioned he always aims towards for his patients. This was such a relief for me as I had been in pain for a long time before seeing Dr Muammar. The surgery was a great success which I was not surprised about as I had heard great things about Dr Muammar from other medical professionals. In july I came back to Dr Muammar for the removal of all four wisdom teeth. Again I felt I was in good hands and had full trust in Dr Muammar especially because of my previous experience with him. I really appreciated his sense of humour which put me at ease and made me feel so much more comfortable. I was lucky enough to have Rajan Patel as my surgeon for a hemiglossectomy and neck dissection after being diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma. Rajan has been so supportive and caring throughout my pre & post-op care as well as being highly professional. Last year my 17 year old son underwent a mandibulectomy and reconstruction with fibular flap surgery with Muammar Abu-Serriah, he is currently still in his care as we have a few more surgeries. Muammar has been amazing not only with us as parents but my son also, he has made us feel at ease about every procedure and been caring and approachable. He is extremely knowledgeable and quick to act, we have really appreciated everything he has done for Zach.

I’ve recently had an oral surgery with Dr Muammar and would highly recommend him. I had 4 wisdom teeth and a molar removed under general anesthesia. My wisdom teeth were very deep and close to the nerves and therefore I was little bit nervous about the procedure. Dr Muammar was great to deal with, professional and very friendly. TMJ care is seen as a mystery but need not be with the right expertise. Dr Abu-Serriah is a world class surgeon who happens to live in Aotearoa and is skilled in this area. I had seen two previous oral maxillofacial surgeons, one who dismissed me and said to ‘relax’ and the other performing a discectomy (unfortunately that failed). Dr Muammar completed a revision of the discectomy and placed a fat graft in the joint as well as an arthroscopy of the other joint. My mouth opening prior to surgery was 18mm and now it’s 43mm. A huge difference. I am very grateful to him (as he has positively changed my life) and I recommend anyone with TMJ type issues should see Dr Muammar first for quality and expert advice. The team in surgery were amazing. I won’t lie, the initial recovery was brutal but worth it! I would do it all again in a heartbeat. Nga mihi nui!

My son has had two surgeries with Dr Muammar Abu-Serriah and on both occasions the level of care and expertise has exceeded our expectations. The first surgery was for a blocked saliva gland and Dr Muammar Abu-Serriah managed to perform a very intricate surgery to save our sons saliva gland (when most other doctors would have just taken it out). He went above and beyond both in the surgery but also with his level of care following the surgery. I had a diagnosis of Salivary Gland Carcinoma and was given the upmost expediency for surgery by the brilliant Dr Muammar Abu-Serriah and team. I underwent a right external Maxillectomy with reconstruction of free fibular flap. It was a big procedure. I could not have asked for a more professional caring team of people,I was kept informed always about what was happening and at no time was left with out information or emphatic care. The team and I became like family, including the excellent Nursing and Dietitian support. I was able to make a rapid recovery which I put down to the wonderful care I have received throughout including follow ups. I had the good fortune to be referred to Dr Muammar Abu-Serriah for an issue with my jaw. He was an absolute delight to engage with. I Presented to Muammar with a large squamous cell cancer on my lip, I immediately felt I could trust that he could give me the best outcome.
