Medical clinic

😠 Terrible receptionists - no greeting, unhelpful over the phone, cant seem to handle/fix small clerical mistakes. I have seen 2 doctors who are nice and competent but some of the others seem uncaring and too busy to take your problems seriously... my friend was told by one he was fine and to go home... People often mention doctors, clinic, doctor, appointment, call, experience, patients, worst, booking, wait,

Terrible receptionists - no greeting, unhelpful over the phone, cant seem to handle/fix small clerical mistakes. I have seen 2 doctors who are nice and competent but some of the others seem uncaring and too busy to take your problems seriously... my friend was told by one he was fine and to go home but he ended up in hospital later the same day in relation to the issue he went to see the doctor for. I would personally spend a bit more money and go elsewhere

I have been going to Quay med for a couple of years now and most of my experiences have been positive. The receptionists are friendly and nice and efficient. Dr.Karen and Dr.Vanisha are nice and caring. However, my last 2 recent experiences with doctors at Quay med are not ideal. I went for a health check and my first doctor forgot to give me a prescription. I wasn't contacted for a follow up appointment especially my result did not come up normal. I had to book my second follow up myself, and the new doctor was rude to me and he treated me like I was stupid. It wasn't ideal for a patient to go to a doctor and got treated like that. He told me that there was nothing wrong with my result and I had to point out to him what was wrong with it. He then again said that it was nothing serious and that was why no one contacted me. (This is a infertility check and I was supposed to have a follow up appointment, and I know that because my first doctor told me that, they just forgot to book me in an appointment). The way he treated me was pretty bad. I am very disappointed especially I feel like doctors should be the kind of people that patients feel comfortable with. That day, I also was planning to ask for other health concern but I did not feel comfortable asking him because he would probably just laughed at my face (he actually did that). I understand that they probably have a lot of patients daily and I should not expect much. I would have not mind at all that they did forget to print a prescription, or that they did not call me back (by the way I even called back after that and was told that my GP would call me...that never happened). I am more disappointed at how he treated me like I did not understand English.

I thought going through an accident that caused a spinal cord injury was the worst experience I would go through. I was so wrong; the first appointment at this clinic was by far the worst. This is because when you visit a doctor for a continual life changing issue, where preparation to go to the clinic involves a toturous bowel management followed by trying to settle the rest of the body from discomfort and the associated anxiety, you would think a professional medical staff would alleviate and help with their knowledge and educated advice. This ended after the warm reception from the receptionist who was kind and welcoming. I was greeted quite coldly by the doctor where I was made to feel something I did upset him. This was followed by an interrogation of what seemed like attempt to belittle me and my disability. He had not prepared for my initial appointment as he only started reading what should be years of medical reports from spinal specialists, urologist, gastroenterologist and a variety of other reports and assessments from physios, occupational therapists etc...Not just the endless short notes from my, now retired, previous GP. This was the worst ever medical experience and I question how Doctors like Andrew Tyson exist. I strongly recommend others to reconsider before making an appointment to see this so called doctor. I will be taking further action, especially after the contrasting experience I received from seeing a new doctor at another clinic. This is unacceptable and doctors like Tyson should not be in practice. Doctors are to help the public not to act in an arrogant ignorance. Unbelievably I paid for this waste of time...without receiving my prescriptions, just an insulting situation.

Had a phone consult last Tuesday (8 Feb) and woke up worse on Wednesday. Couldn't book another appointment online due to 'Covid symptoms' even though it was for a phone consultant - left the request for a call back via the website. No call. Sent another request for a callback on Thursday. No call. It's now Monday (14 Feb) and still no call. Completely understand we are currently in a pandemic environment, but surely it cannot take over 3 working days and counting to receive a call back, especially as a registered patient. Ended up having to go to another Doctor's who were absolutely amazing and couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating, from both the reception staff to the consulting doctor.

Good doctors but not if you have kids. Since COVID, this practice has made it impossible to get same day appointments, you have to ring and if you’re lucky to get through after being on hold for 20mins, then you need to beg. The receptionists are mean and talk over you, probably cause they’re overworked, and then the docs don’t do anything for your child (just saying from a glance on a video call, that he/she’ll get better with time). I’m enrolling my child elsewhere! Very disappointed as I’ve been enrolled here myself for 11 years at least!

I am very impressed with the services, doctors and ease of access of this practice. I have moved around the country a little recently and so have been to a few different practices over the country and have never been somewhere that is so affordable, so quick and easy to get appointments yet so thorough with very knowledgeable, kind doctors. Not only have they been thorough but follow up has been great also. It was also incredibly easy to enrol which has been a major issue with other services in the country. Thank you very much!

Terrible! If you want sub-standard assembly-line medical care then by all means come here! Avoid! Just look at the reviews here as that alone should be a direct WARNING for you to go somewhere else for your healthcare! The incompetent and rude receptionists at this clinic are a major part of the problem - the physicians Ok, but the practice in general is badly organised. Parking? The cost for parking at this clinic as astronomical!!! Just avoid, go somewhere else for better quality healthcare!

Most of the staff and doctors are very helpful and friendly. And the fees are also reasonable. Except Dr. Andrew Tyson he was very rude and impatient trading his patient today, that was the worst experience I ever had!

Never authorise this clinic to auto claim on your southern cross because they will then abuse it by charging a full consultation without consulting you. and when you call back and try to understand what happened, guess what no one seem to be interested to apology as long as they got the money $$$

Only Dr. Vanisha Pancha is the good doctor at this place. The other doctors are not caring so much and rushing, and not professional.

This place is not for patients. You have to be sick with prior notice. When ever we called them for an appointment if you are so not well, their options are to have booking after few days or to go to Whitecross. Management never had a solution with no respond for this.

Do not enroll here. It is the most expensive, worst service clinic you will find. It used to be good, now the prices went up and the service worsened.

Doctors and nurses were so lovely and helpful, atmosphere is pleasant but only bad thing is that one of their receptionists was very rude, wouldnt serve me for about 5 minutes when she wasn’t doing anything else and hadn’t told me to wait or that she’d just be a second. The other receptionist was so wonderful and kind though. Definitely recommend coming here. Once you’re enrolled the price is cheap, but if you’re not enrolled it’s very expensive.

We joined this clinic about 8yrs ago, we used to live and work in the city area but now moved to West Auckland. We are happy to stay in this clinic because the staff are friendly and helpful, and the doctors and nurses are professional and caring about their patients. I'm also working in a clinic, so I understand how difficult to book an appointment during the winter season, especially with the COVID pandemic. I want to say they have managed their booking system very well and reasonable.

Worst experience. Highly unprofessional and worst time management by the doctors/nurses. Had to wait for more than an hour even though had appointment booked and at end I had returned without seeing the doctors.

Been enrolled here for 6 years. Dr Tyson is great - very professional and always seems to know what's wrong with me in about 5 minutes! My only issue was during the period when in person appointments weren't allowed, phone calls never got through to me for some reason.

Always had a good experience coming to this medical Centre. The staff are doing a tremendous job during Covid. They managed to book my family and work colleagues in for a Covid vaccine in such short notice. Thank you!

Only have positive things to say about this Doctors, my situation is a complicated one but they made the enrolment, the appointment and the tests very easy and calm for me while I had alot of anxiety! They are a busy hub and they deal with alot of people but for they were very nice and understanding!

Worst doctors I've ever been to waited almost 30mins in the cold and rain due to their covid protocol and being late...they finally let us in 30mins + and I still haven't seen a doctor. Yes I was waiting 1 hour +

I have been going to this clinic for 6 or 7 years and have not have a bad experience having seen several of the doctors and nurses. Once registered as a patient the cost for a 15 minute appointment seems relatively low. I like the online booking system. I've seldom had to wait long at reception, provided I turn up on time myself. Having a pharmacy across the hallway is convenient. Parking is generally OK plus major train and bus lines close by. Covid did seem to make things a bit more difficult for the practice.

This is the most Depressing+ Disappointing Doctors in Auckland Central! The GP consultation fees from19.50$ all the way up to 60$!! And to see nurse is 45$!! So if you need to see GP plus nurse will cost you 105$ every time!!😱 And the standard of the care just not worth the money! Very sad to see the mendical clinic instead of caring for patients now just wanted to make money from the poor+sick patients! Time for me to change to other clinic now!☹️

Had to wait half an hour past my booking for a covid test and someone just rocked up 20 minutes into my wait and got seen ahead of me when their booking was after mine.

My husband and I just had our Covid booster shots and we found the experience very efficient, from booking by phone, short wait and a friendly, professional nurse (Gwen) who was excellent all round at administering the vaccine. Thanks all round.
