It’s a decent place if you prefer to talk in Chinese, however, I hope they could be more considered for the patients. I was there last week because they asked me to book an appointment to follow up review after a scan. After half an hour wait, my doctor told me that I have been referred to a specialist. He then asked me to book another appointment to review. That was a complete waste of the doctors and my time. It was a 1 minute conversation which could have been done through a quick phone call. In fact, most practice would have delivered the information through a phone call. But they made me physically go there and waiting 45 mins so they can actually charge me for another consultation fee (luckily I was covered by my insurance company but what if it’s a person without any insurance? ). I understand it’s not legally wrong, and all business is money derived , but I’ve been to other GPs and in this scenario, they just call me and tell me that they have referred me to the specialist directly if I want to, instead of wasting my time and charge for another consultation session. IT IS NOT Right TO only treat your patient as a part of business.

I would like to file a complaint about the service I received today from my general practitioner (GP- Dr Gary Wu) at The Doctors in Green Lane, Auckland. To facilitate the consultation, I prepared a list of health issues I have been experiencing. The nurse kindly took note of all my concerns. However, when I spoke with the GP, I was told to only discuss one item from the list. I chose to mention my polycystic ovary problem, which causes severe abdominal pain, migraines, and breast tenderness, often waking me up at night. Unfortunately, the doctor seemed disinterested and only checked an old examination I had previously undergone. He requested a new test and abruptly stated that he couldn't help me further, immediately printing the test orders and referring me to the nurse for a urine test. I left the room feeling utterly perplexed, not understanding what had just happened. I still had other health issues to discuss, such as body allergies, sinusitis, hair loss, intense headaches, and frequent dryness of the lips. The GP's lack of care made me feel like I was merely a product there to pay for a consultation and be rushed out in 15 minutes. If I wanted to address other health concerns, it seemed I would have to schedule another appointment. I want to highlight that this is the first time since I arrived in New Zealand that I have experienced such treatment. Never before has a GP treated me like a commodity. Every other doctor I have seen has treated me with great kindness and done their best to help me feel better. It is important to note that every time I visit a GP, I have to request time off work and pay a $59NZ consultation fee. I had to wait outside the GP's office just to obtain prescriptions for the issues I wanted to discuss, and even that was denied. I spoke to the receptionist, explaining that I didn't come there to address just one problem and that the doctor didn't even let me finish explaining what else I needed to discuss. It was a lack of respect and humanity. This type of treatment is unacceptable. I sincerely hope that appropriate measures will be taken to ensure that no other patient goes through such a frustrating and disrespectful experience. It is crucial for all healthcare professionals to treat their patients with care, empathy, and respect, regardless of the available consultation time.

This place is a total scam!!! Making an appointment with Dr Gary Wu means nothing. You will still end waiting for 40min to 1hr past your scheduled time. No communication or updates will be given during the wait and if you chase him up, his assistant will say he’s either doing admin tasks or dealing some “urgent calls” - i.e. talking to members of government. After complaints and wait time, they will only offer a $6 discount (10%) to compensate. What a joke! Dr Gary, if you have appointments booked, please prioritise your patients! Additional background: I waited for over 35 mins past scheduled time to see him a couple months ago because he was doing admins and kept me waiting with no information given ahead. I had scheduled 2 hours annual leave off work to see him and ended up having to spend the entire morning off work. He offered a $10 discount at the end because I had to knock his door to chase him up and found out he was not even seeing a patient but helping his assistant do some admin work. Today (we decided to give him another chance), my partner waited for around 1 hour because he was “on the call with some government people”! No updates were communicated during the waiting time and he was still requested to pay at the end (10% discount). Gary wouldn’t even come out to explain after my partner complained. Instead, he asked the receptionist to bring my partner back to the room. After re-explaining the 1hr wait time, and 10 mins consultation time, Gary said “what can I do to make you happy?” My partner said he’s not happy to pay and only after Gary knows that he was recommended by a mutual friend, he then waived the consultation fee. Seriously, what is going on with this GP practice??? You might sitting in a nice area and has quite good set up but the GP there prioritise their personal/business relationships and work before patient. Plus, if you want to charge $60 for registered patient, better to improve the work ethic and quality to justify the price! And most importantly, if you don’t have capacity, don’t say you are available.

I booked an appointment, I’ve arrive 10 min prior, notified the receptionist about my appointment, then waited for a while. After 40 min and receptionist said I have to wait for little longer, after further 20 min I found out that my appointment has been completely forgotten. A week later I made another appointment, same story, I’ve notified the receptionist multiple times but somehow my appointment was forgotten. During over an hour of wait I watched multiple walk-in’s getting their consultations. Honestly if you don’t speak Mandarin it’s nearly impossible to see a doctor here. This place used to be a great practice prior to Covid… it’s a shame.

Having similar experiences to recent reviews. Waiting an hour after scheduled booking time to see the doctor, no one gives any communication to why and how long the wait time is supposed to be. A waste of time, do not come here!

My mum went to see Dr Joanne Gao there today. When we walked in she said she couldn't speak Chinese and asked if we needed a translator. It turns out she speaks Cantonese but not "Chinese". The whole consultation was awkward because she pretends to be someone who she is not, telling us she is New Zealand born but clearly English is her second language. She can't shake off her Chinese accent when she speaks English. It's awful. People like her with a false character should never be allowed to practise Be proud of your heritage Dr Gao, and Cantonese is Chinese. 为医不可为伪!

We made a covid-19 vaccine appointment here via the book my vaccine website. We sat in about 40 minutes of traffic and arrived 20 minutes early before our appointment. When we arrived they told us they ran out of vaccine over an hour ago (they implied that they used it up on people without prior bookings) and didn't bother to communicate with anyone who had bookings. They should be contacting people with vaccine appointments if they run out of vaccine. Don't waste your time by booking here.

We were there for the swab test and it was fast and easy. You can do it all in your car - just scan QR code and fill in the form and the doctor/nurse will meet you at your car. Doctors and nurses here are very friendly and supportive. Thank you for making our first swab experience a little less scary :)

I transferred my care over to The Doctors Greenlane recently and couldn't be happier with the service. From the moment I made contact with the reception team, they actioned everything promptly and efficiently whilst communicating with me every step of the way. I am cared for by Dr. Gary Wu and I have found him to be a warm, kind and compassionate doctor who practices evidenced-based medicine. I would highly recommend The Doctors Greenlane.

I recently chose to transfer my healthcare to Doctors Greenlane cus I had previously received my COVID-19 vaccine here two years ago and had a good experience. The other reason is the convenience of their dedicated app for booking appointments and reviewing results and descriptions greatly appealed to me. After two visits to this clinic, I am convinced that it was an excellent decision. Dr. Hillary has demonstrated exceptional thoughtfulness and expertise during my health check-ups, making me feel confident in her care. Would recommend to others seeking quality care. Thanks!

I was late for nearly half an hour for my PCR pre departure test due to traffic and roadwork! I thought they wouldn't be willing to wait as I was the last appointment on a Saturday, but they did after I explained my situation! Just want to say thank you again girls for your patience and good service!

They are closed on the weekend, and there is no actual walk in appointments. You walk in and book an appointment 3 or 4 hours later. The clinic is not helpful for people who works Monday to Friday and have urgent medical condition.

I have been seen by 3 female doctors here, 2 of them seemed like they were rushing my appointment every time I saw them. I feel like they're extremely money-driven and I didn't feel like they actually care about me as a patient. We are humans and we expect to be treated as such.

Garbage place!!, My wife get pregnant, GP give the blood test script. They told us if everything is fine then they wont call us. After few days, we thought things went great, until my wife request for the blood test result. We find out the Labtest didn't test Hcg in the blood sample, and the Clinic Nurse or the GP(Joanne Gao) isn't check the blood test result is actually missing the Hcg of the list!!!

It’s hard to set an appointment and when you do you will still have to wait even if you already have an appointment and sometimes doctor cancels it and no other doctor is available for that day. A waste of time to go there.

Literally walked away crying. The receptionist at the beginning didn’t tell me how much it was going to be for an appointment only until afterwards for a casual fee. I knew I had strep throat as my partner went to the doctors and it was confirmed. I was only seen for by a doctor for 5 minutes and she talked me into only doing treatment for 5 days instead of the normal 10 as she didn’t think it was that bad. Walked away with antibiotics for 5 days and some ibuprofen and paracetamol. When I went back to the counter to pay she told me it was $89.10 which had me very visibly stunned and I asked if I could sign up as a patient instead to get a cheaper fee but that they only accepted passports or birth certificates and that even if I came back to sign up, I’d have to pay that fee and wait for a refund of the difference. The price chart is not easily visible and she only showed it to me after the appointment. While on the phone trying to find a copy of my birth certificate or passport photo to show, the ladies at the reception were mocking me, giggling and it made me cry. I decided to give the form back and not sign up as I felt taken advantage of and humiliated. I paid the fee and got out of their asap and asked for an invoice to be emailed over. On the invoice, for the 5 MINUTES I spent in there after telling her I had strep throat and confirmed it, it was $89.10. The doctors fee is the only fee on the invoice. I’m outraged and will never be coming back or recommending this medical centre to anyone.
