A must for every foodie traveller who just landed in Auckland! I planned this on our first full day here and it was such a treat. Not only did we get to taste some of the best of Auckland's local food scene, but also Liz incorporated a bit of history into the tour! She was a wonderful guide, teaching us some of the native language and showing us how to live like the locals. Aucky Walky is the way to go!

My husband I and got of the plane from the States in the morning for our honeymoon and couldn’t check in to our accommodation until the afternoon, so we booked this tour. We thought the walking tour would keep us in our feet, fight off the jet lag, and teach us what the locals love about Auckland. We were correct! The tour was amazing and was everything we wanted and more. Walking a city is the best way to get to know what it’s around. Liz and Jo happened to both be directing the tour and not only did their love for Auckland show through but they were very knowledgeable about any questions we asked. Jo is a natural story teller with charisma and energy to spare. Start any holiday in Auckland with Aucky Walky Tours.

Simply wonderful! We have done food tours all over the globe as we travel. Liz's walking tour was by far the best EVER! I would recommend booking this on your first day as you will get a good "layoff the land" and the food scene in Auckland. Come hungry - Liz does to shy away from ordering plenty for the group to share. The printed piece of information is a great compliment to the tour....you could plan all of your trip to Auckland with this info alone. So BOOK THIS FOODIE ADVENTURE!!!! You will not be disappointed.

Liz is PHENOMENAL! She is an Auckland native and really showed us things we would have never noticed about the city, that even locals don’t know about. She was personable, knowledgeable, and really set us up for a phenomenal trip! Her recommendations will fill all of our time here. Her knowledge around the history of Auckland and how the community operates now was an invaluable insight! She also took us to enjoy some treats, taught us some Maori, and welcomed us to NZ! 10/10! So grateful we did this!

Last week I met Liz and experienced the Hello Auckland walking tour. Liz was incredibly passionate and bubbly. She gave a Māori welcome and began by describing what Auckland looked like in the early years. She spoke a lot about culture and history, but also the best places to drink, eat, party and relax. I was guided around new and old parts of town and was explained sculptures and new & upcoming developments. I learnt so much about Auckland and hit up some of her food recommendations over the following days and they were all divine. I gained a lot of local insights and would definitely recommend to first-time visitors or those looking to learn more about Auckland🕺🏼

Before you do anything in Auckland - do this guided walk first!! Liz was a fantastic guide and showed all all the places the locals go, away from the hustle and bustle of the main streets. We learned so much about the history of New Zealand and some of its traditions and culture too which was an unexpected bonus. I highly recommend this walk because you get to see the best of the city and get the inside track of where to shop, eat, visit and chill. Thank you Liz!!

We thoroughly enjoyed Liz and her 3 hour Aucky Walky Food Tour. Liz was fun and engaging and provided us with an authentic intro to the Auckland food scene. We very likely would not have experienced the restaurant, pub and local food shops she selected for our tour. She was also very generous in sharing her knowledge on everything Auckland & New Zealand. We also appreciated Liz’ commitment to keeping her tours small making it an intimate experience (our group of 4 plus 3 other travellers). Highly recommend!!

The Aucky-Walky tour was the *perfect* way to get a fast intro to the city center while eating great food! Tour guide Liz is a 5th-generation Aucklander, so was able to bring a deep knowledge that you'd be hard pressed to find elsewhere. My advice: make this tour one of the first things you do in Auckland: then you will feel some familiarity as you continue stay. Not to mention you'll also come away with great pointers of the restaurants and other places to visit while you're here.

Want to know delicious spots to eat? Want to know more about the wonderful city of Auckland? Then take this tour! Had the pleasure of taking this tour, and it helped my family and I get more appreciation and knowledge of the history and food culture of Auckland. Highly recommended for anyone’s first time!

OMG if I could leave 6 stars it wouldn't be enough!! If you want to really get the inside "scoop" (and have a great time) on everything Auckland than Awky Walky Walking Tour is a MUST. Liz and Jo are both native Aucklanders and really know the city inside and out. They do a wonderful job of interweaving the culture, history, and personal insights into this really "neat" city tour. They also provide a list of restaurants and specific parts of Auckland that is worth the price of the tour by itself....wonderful guide to the city long after the tour is completed. A big shout out to both these great hosts for making our visit to Auckland one we will never forget. Awky Walky Tours should be at the top of your list when visiting Auckland.

We booked a private tour with Liz for 10 people for our Christmas work function this year, as we wanted to do something different and at the same time supporting local small businesses. We were all blown away by Liz's professionalism and knowledge. As Aucklanders ourselves we did not expect to be surprised by the number of exceptional eateries hidden in the city. Thank you, Liz for taking us. As the saying goes "you learn something new everyday" - well we certainly did! What a great way to finish our year at Auckland IQP.

History with Coffee and Chocolate What a fun, informative, and insider experience with Jo. As a 5th generation Aucky, Jo knows this city and it shows that she loves it. Our little group not only got to see some “must-see” sites but also got an insider's understanding of how history shaped beautiful Auckland. Put on your walking shoes and prepare for a meandering introduction to the city. Fear not, you will take a bus to the high point of Queen Street and learn how the growth of the city changed neighborhoods. Jo was very knowledgeable and interesting. Who would have guessed she spoke Maori too? This Aucky Walky tour of 3 hours zipped by. A must-do for visitors. Thanks Jo!

We highly recommend this experience if you are in Auckland. Liz is an excellent guide, warm, friendly and knowledgeable as well as being very professional. We saw and learnt so much that we would have missed walking on our own. The refreshments and tasty lunch were an added bonus. Thanks Liz!

A very informative tour, great orientation of the city to new arrivals - Liz has a wealth of knowledge of Auckland including many lesser know, interesting facts. Although a fair bit of walking it was not onerous for us 60 year olds. Highly recommended.

We had an amazing tour with Liz, we highly recommend doing an Aucky Walky Tour if your in Auckland. It was a great way to see many parts of Auckland that we would have never found ourselves. Our tour start time had to be shifted from morning to the afternoon due to the rain, and Liz kindly sent over rainy day activities to do in the morning. She also sent us some recommended restaurants across the North Island after the tour which was above and beyond what we expected, but so appreciated!

We had a great time with Liz on our walking tour around Auckland. Liz is local and is very knowledgeable about her home town, sharing some history and quirky facts. The next day we easily navigated our way around streets and laneways. Thanks Liz for all the recommendations given. We found them extremely valuable and used them in Auckland and on our travels of the North Island. This is a great way to get to know Auckland.

We had a very nice and interesting tour with Liz who was a fantastic guide. The tour is a great start when you just arrived in Auckland as Liz is giving loads of recommendations (handout included) on where to go in the coming days or just hours. The tour gives a good overview on the history of Auckland, how it developed in the post and how it’s going to develop further in the coming years. Last, Liz shares a lot of information which only a local knows. Overall, money very well spend!

This is a must do tour for an authentic and memorable introduction to Auckland! Liz is an exceptional guide providing a local's insider tips and some wonderful story telling through an entertaining and well paced tour. You'll leave with an information sheet and map providing a list of recommendations to make your stay in Auckland a fantastic one. Highly, highly recommend this experience!

Highly recommend doing this tour on your first or second day as you get an amazing overview of some cool parts of the city! Absolutely cannot give enough love to this tour. The owner/guide Liz was extremely warm, knowledgeable, and gave personalized tips and advice to make the rest of our trip amazing. We had two groups of four in our tour. We entered as strangers but left hugging as friends! Shout-out to Ruth and family! Oh yeah, and the food was extremely good too. Well worth the money!

We just had a fantastic afternoon with Liz! She is a superb tour guide- very welcoming, knowledgeable, fun, and accommodating. She took time to get to get to know us and tailored what she shared with us to our interests. The food was wonderful and bountiful. I have a whole list of other recommendations to try too. I’m very happy with my choice of Aucky Walky! Come hungry and do the tour early in your trip so you have time to go back to all the spots.

We really enjoyed our tour of Auckland with Liz. Her love of Auckland, knowledge of the city and friendly sense of humor made the tour informative and enjoyable. We learned so much about the city and NZ in general and made the most of our short time in this wonderful city. Highly recommended! Thank you so much Liz!

This is a fantastic tour, with a great insight to Auckland's hidden spots and history. Liz is so lovely and welcoming. It was like walking with an old friend. She has fantastic knowledge mixed with great personal stories and experiences of the areas. We found parks, alley ways and restaurants that we would have never found without someone pointing them out. I cannot recommend this tour strongly enough. Do it on your first day, so you can go back and explore some of these places further!

Local Liz, from Aucky Walky tours, provided back to back walking tours for my birthday celebration weekend. I absolutely love Auckland and wanted to share my love of the city with a mixture of family & friends from Auckland and out of town. The autumn weather was perfect and all learnt something new about Auckland. Liz was wonderfully informative, friendly and accommodating. We all enjoyed ourselves immensely.

Great way to experience Auckland through the eyes of a local. Liz was a fantastic guide that took our small group to the best places to eat. Highly recommended!

Liz is an excellent guide: knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and very attentive. She conveys great pride in her home city and extends a very warm welcome to visitors. In addition to the informative tour, she provides a handout that we’ve used to choose restaurants, plan day trips, and prioritize food choices to maximize exposure to local delicacies. I recommend doing this A+ tour early in your trip so that you can benefit from her wise advice when exploring on your own.
