Phenomenal. All gluten free or low gluten (oats) - but that's not the point. Great plant based dishes with carefully balanced flavors. I really enjoyed the Moroccan lentil soup. While it was possibly a little spicy, the spicing was authentically African. Somebody with me had their bowl which was a seasonal mix off everything from quinoa to mushrooms to pumpkin all delicately cooked. There was a large display off gluten-free and mostly if not all vegan treats on the dessert stand but I didn't get there as portions were pretty generous.

Came here for some me time. Food is so fresh and the desserts are phenomenal. Had the oat milk matcha latte, kimchi pancakes and coffee caramel tart - AMAZING. Every. Last. Bite. Will definitely be back again soon. Top 10 best restaurant in Auckland.

This has become one of my favourite restaurants. The food is so delicious that you almost forget you're eating vegan. Their desserts are so awesome, especially their pumpkin pie. They make the amazing soups. The other day I had a Thai style beetroot soup and it was the best soup I've ever had! 100% recommend. Not giving 5 stars only because they are quite pricey!

First time trying a vegan place although not being vegan myself. We ordered the vietnamese crepe and the kimchi pancake. The crepe itself was made quite nicely, the sesame flavour was nice. The salad sauce was tangy and goes well with salad. However the whole thing in the end was salad and have no meat, so didn't feel quite worth to pay $25 for it. The kimchi pancake was similar and I felt not justify to pay close to $30 for it. I can definitely make it at home after trying it once. The cold coffee was not bad. Overall probably wont be back due to not worth the bucks, although the ambiance looks nice, the tables are too close to each other and tables are small and felt cramped in. This had lower the ambiance score, as its just not that comfy with people sitting close to each other. Good to come if you are a vegan though.

first time here after searching top rated brunch places in Ponsonby, service is very friendly and amazing, love the set out of the place, great atmosphere etc, the food menu is very simple, there’s not a lot to choose from and the food itself tasted average, with such high reviews, I excepted wow amazing food… there’s a lot of drinks selection and I really like the smoothie.

I recently had a great experience at Little Bird Kitchen in Ponsonby, a plant-based cafe. I had the kimchi pancakes, which were delicious. The portion size was also generous, which was a nice surprise. But what really made my experience stand out was the great service I received from the staff. They were friendly and attentive, making sure my experience was top-notch. As a plant-based cafe, Little Bird Kitchen offers a wide range of vegan and vegetarian options, which is always appreciated. It's great to have a place like this where you can find tasty and affordable plant-based meals. Overall, I would highly recommend Little Bird Kitchen. Whether you're a fan of kimchi pancakes or just looking for a tasty and affordable plant-based meal, this is a great place to visit. The staff are friendly, the prices are reasonable, and the food is delicious - what more could you ask for?

Our favourite place for plant based, vegan food in Auckland. It’s all delicious, creative and looks fantastic. I would quite happily eat here every day and I’m only sad we didn’t have time to try everything on the menu. Go there, you won’t be disappointed!

Excellent menu and lovely staff in a cosy little spot tucked away in Ponsonby. Coffee and smoothies are awesome, especially the "Magic Mushroom Mug" with a shot of coffee. ☕ 🍄

I've visited this cafe maybe four times over the years and I can say that the quality has not dropped. The service, food, and staff have always been great. Excellent coffee and beverage selections. Highly recommended

Little bird seriously does the best vegan cheesecakes and healthy treats in Auckland! Although the coffee always seems to be lukewarm and watery. For a vegan eatery it would be nice to have a wider range of alternative milks, particularly coconut. Wouldn’t recommend for hot drinks but fantastic for meals & snacks.

Don't be afraid to go raw - For years I was afraid of trying raw food restaurants. Until I discovered this little and amazingly delicious place. Their desserts are not only pleasurable on the eyes, but can compete with any backed ones, only they are raw, and can be lactose intolerant and gluten free. So not just vegetarians or vegans, but for everyone who loves good desserts! The only thing that cost them one star is the lack of sitting...

Huge disappointment. Used enjoy their brunches before but not anymore. Had Kumar hotcakes(there wasn't any orange). Got burned hotcakes that spoiled tastes... Very cool customer services. Felt up noses from their services. Good on them but not when you services to customers.

I was a little bit hesitant trying this place at first, but I'm so glad that I agreed to be dragged in by my friends! Their coffee was superb, and the food - so tasty and flavourful for plant based food (which is not something I usually go for). I would definitely come back again.

Wow! Delicious goodies, lovely staff. My partner and I went to have a look and they were near closing. Everything we tried, was delicious. The highlight for myself was the chocolate lamington. And, they have a store in Takapuna! (Terrible photo, I know. But they were all exquisite.)

Beautiful, peaceful and well-decorated cafe. The woman serving me was friendly and lovely. The dahl and dosa was great! The raita and fermented chutney were very flavourful. I found the veg filling of the Vietnamese pancake a little oily and some of the herbs in there looked out of date, otherwise the crepe itself was a great texture. The pumpkin cheesecake and chai were amazing.

It's a great place for a plant based option . I enjoyed my food very much. The cafe environment was lovely and the staff were friendly. They also have a lot of salads ready to go with nice options of sweets from the cabinet as well. The smoothie was lovely. We enjoyed it very much. I would recommend this place. Just try it you'll love it.

Beautiful cafe with some incredible menu options it was hard to choose! Every plate of food that came out of the kitchen was very well presented with loads of fresh salad ingredients. Friendly staff, highly recommend a visit if your in Ponsonby. Will absolutely not disappoint

Little Bird Kitchen is a beautiful cafe with a wide selection of high-quality food and friendly staff. The food is inventive and tastes fantastic. The audio architecture is excellent, so it is effortless to talk. There is also a tiny shop with panty items, including vegan cheeses.

The best raspberry cheese cake I’ve ever had. My partner & I had 3 plates between us, bird bowl, the Vietnamese crepe & sprouted toast. The bird bowl was incredible - & the sprouted toast too. But the Vietnamese crepe was not what we expected. The crepe itself was yummy with the sauce but the filling was just salad with 3 cashews. Very disappointing. And the staff not so friendly. Very trendy cafe

By far exceeds any other cafe's. It is top-notch on the quality of food, taste and presentation. What I call exquisite, pure food. As a first-timer, the choice is overwhelming. It is going to be my new favorite. Can't wait to go back!

This is such a warm, snuggly cafe on a cold day. Love the food, it is so unique and delish, there is nothing like it in Auckland. The Kimchi Pancake stands out for me. The servers are super friendly and calming, but do not come here if you want a quick bite. It takes a long time to get seated, get a menu, get served and it is russian roulette as to when your food will come out. Settle in and enjoy the ambience!

Absolutely, veganically, fantastically, magically delicious! Each dish we had over multiple meals had EXPLOSIONS of unexpected flavors and textures that should be added to the dictionary definition of "foodgasm". Normally, I can write ridiculously long reviews about each dish and what went wrong or right, but Little Bird makes that difficult as each dish has the same wow factor. From an avocado toastie that didn't taste like basic white girl overpriced bread to a vegan omlet that looked a little rabbit foodie at first but turned out to be one of the best dishes we've had in months, Little Bird gets it. Staff are crazy friendly and the vibe is so calm and laid back. This is a MUST go for any vegan in Auckland and we'll be coming back from the land of Disney and gators specifically to eat here!

I have been wanting to try this cafe for years. In the past couple of months since moving to Auckland from Dunedin I have been numerous times and it never disappoints. I haven’t tried the meals or smoothies yet, only the goodies from the cabinet and the grocery products I have tried in the past. The cabinet slices are all made from whole foods which I love, they aren’t over powering sweet and don’t cause an upset stomach from too much sweetener or dates. And they are vegan! I love my weekly visits to little bird and the staff are also super friendly, kind and welcoming. The cafe has a nice atmosphere to it and is always buzzing, I am yet to dine in though. I also love the deliver easy option for when I am working. The only improvement for me would be having the doughnuts, mint cheesecake bar and tiramisu bar & cake on deliver easy, and having the mini cheesecakes and doughnuts more frequently 😋 I can’t wait to try the meals and smoothies one day and have been recommending this cafe and the raw treats to everyone. Happy to be living in Auckland now so I can slowly try all the treats 😅

Every time we come here it’s so beautiful. While it is a bit pricey, the food is prepared with love - the service is always frequently and everything is delicious. It’s a must stop for us every time we come to Auckland. We had the Vietnamese crepe. So, so good.

Great find. Lunch for two. All other seats taken - popular. All vegan and GF food. Heaven! Premises and staff good. Food well prepared. Other food able to be purchased off the shelf. Thoroughly recommended.

The staff is very welcoming! I bought the passionfruit cheesecake and the hazelnut coldbrew...both were delicious! Definitely the best vegan dessert I have ever eaten!

A smaller store than their main Ponsonby store, but still with a great range of food. Allergies / intolerances are certainly well catered for here. Bought a really filling wrap for the reasonable price of $7 and enjoyed it by the ferry building.

So in love with Little Bird <3 Living out of the city I hardly ever get the chance to pop in and today I went to the Downtown Bakery and brought dinner (and dessert.....and snacks) I was amazed by the food, especially the macadamia caramel cookie which was mind blowing. The customer service was exceptional and I felt that the staff were attentive and friendly, and I really felt valued which is so rare in customer service nowadays, so shutout to the staff at Customs Street!! Thank you so much for all my goodies :D

Really neat little cafe. Food is slightly more expensive than at most other cafes, but the far superior quality ingredients makes it well worth it. Really enjoyed the hazelnut tart especially, and will be back.

If you’re a matcha lover don’t even bother trying their matcha tart. It costed $11 for a tiny slice and tasted nothing like matcha, more like sweet tofu. Texture was off, taste was off. We also had the magic mushroom mug with homemade almond milk. It tasted like thick bitter water. I’ve tried few mushroom lattes around Nz and this is definitely by far the worst. There were huge lumps at the bottom, it got really undrinkable towards the end. I shared these two with another person and for some reason it made us feel really bloated after.
