Awesome sunset in city. Be aware the gate closes before that better to walk up than taking your car. If you are lucky you can find a even better moon rise.

This is a very nice summit in the area, on whose name the suburban area is named. It is one of many such summits in the Auckland region. The road to the top is nicely maintained and gentle climbing. A few car parks are available on the summit. There are a couple of art installations on the top which makes the summit interesting. A tidy walkway is also there, from where 360 degrees views of the city are seen. Very good for a couple of hours picnic or walk to the top of summit. It is easily accessible from the western motorway too.

Nothing superb, but nice place with a view towards Manukau Heads, Waitakere Ranges and the city. (Too) many locals eating fast foods after sun sets 🤣

Ice to take the dogs up here for a run around. Or too many people up here at any one time. Great 360 degree views of the city. Pretty windy.

Easy walk, kids friendly. Had minimum signs. Close to public transportation. Slippery when wet.

Very disrespectful removing the cross on the top of the hill that was placed decades ago for our brave fallen soldiers from WW2 because some people that moved to NZ didn't like it and complained.

Went to the kite festival today which is always on around Matariki. Was such a good family activity. Love all the space up the top now that there is no car access

Beautiful park, fantastic views. Can drive most way up and park on standard days. Went for the Matariki Kite day which was awesome, Beautiful kites, great stalls, kids games and live band Koltrain. They also had a free shuttle running for the event as the road/carpark was closed for the event.

Went on a windy day but the views are still worth the stroll up. Quite open so not too much shade if you are planning on hanging around. However, worth a visit for a nice view of Auckland.
