Lieutenant Coffee Bar & Eatery

Cafe

👍👍 Good flat whites & Matcha latte. Always looks to be busy hence tried the place out. The hot drinks were delicious. The atmosphere is nice with an open area and a great spot to people watch whilst drinking. Plenty of seats. Service was friendly and everything was well explained. I will be happily... People often mention coffee, great, good, service, cafe, nice, staff, scone,

This cafe always grabs a lot of traffic since people walk pass it as they enter the mall. Finally checked it out and as expected - it’s 7/10. Coffee was not bad but Anzac cookie was a disappointment. Looked amazing but it was soggyyy as (potentially an old cookie). Matcha latte was nice if you like sweet drinks.

I ordered avocado toast with halloumi and iced coffee. Avocado, cherry tomatoes and veges were fresh. I did not like antichoke as it was too sour for me. I really liked iced coffee! I will visit this place and try the other menus.

Very impressed with the service and food at Lieutenant. I came on a busy Saturday and luckily got a table without any issues. Service was attentive, coffee was perfect and the food was delicious. The breakfast burger had slabs of pork belly, crackling and pork floss. Paired with a fried egg on a toast milk bun, this was a heavenly brunch!

We were going to another cafe for breakfast but have to take cover from the torrential rain. So we stumbled upon Lieutenant. Probably the most interesting and beautiful omelette I ever had and it did taste good with all the interesting vegetables bits. I had it with the Bacon Soldiers (Just a cute name because the cafe is called Lieutenant I guess?) My partner loved his burger and fries. He loves his coffee so much and ordered a second cup which he seldom do. But the coffee didn’t quite hit the spot for me. The young staff could be a bit friendlier and more attentive although they were running off their feet and looked really stressed.

visiting a city and not sure where to go, we found this wee place, upstairs and weren't disappointed at all! Coffee was great and our shared cheese scone was the best I've had in a long time.. we enjoyed the open atmosphere and could watch the 'happenings' and enjoy gpod conversation at the same time. Definately my place to go to when downtown.

First of all, I'd like to apologize to the manager that spoke to me and helped me out after the fire alarm today. I had a small back and forth about wanting to stay just to finish off my food. But I was completely wrong in that, and made her difficult task of getting everyone out that bit harder. She was extremely helpful in placing my food in a takeaway box and was professional throughout. The food was absolutely excellent, one of the best omelette plates I've had. A* coffee as well. I'll be back if and when in Auckland again.

Got the benedict brigade and a side of pork belly (per the pics). prie was reasonable for the portion, and the taste was good. Leaving a 4* as would likely return.

I had a seasonal salad and a flat white, and they were absolutely delicious. I'm curious about the dressing they used for the salad. It's so good that I can't stop thinking about it. The date, walnut, and maple scone is the best scone I've ever tasted.

The coffee and food here is yummy. The sandwich on Turkish bread are very tasty toasted, and the ginger crush and savoury scone with lots of butter. The staff are always friendly and nice, A ++ service food, highly recommend to all. Best cafe in commercial bay.

👍: -The coffee was good. 👎: -The cakes and pastry was so so only. -The sandwich bun came almost burnt on some sides and the bun was too dry and hard.

This cafe is located within the mall, but don’t let that fool you. The coffee was solid and the food was AMAZING! Highly recommend getting their “first watch” and “free ranger” dishes.

We discovered this lovely cafe to refuel ourselves after the LAB concert the night before & while waiting for the Waiheke Ferry. The cafe is styled in a modern & contemporary way, the cabinet food was just right for our needs & the large flat white came out good. The staff a very polite & accommodating. A fellow diner had gluten issues & they were so helpful with offering alternative options without making it a hassle for him. Really peaceful & pleasant vibe.

Good coffee and good pastries. Did not try the full cooked breakfast options, but they all looked very good. Nice area to sit and relax. Very nice staff. Tried on two occasions while in downtown Auckland and both times were positive experiences.

The food is really nice, I had scramble eggs with bacons on toast, it was really nice and the portion was perfect, I ordered Vietnamese coffee it was okay, not that great. One of the staff was a little rude to me, but the manager and the lady who served me were amazing the manager apologize to me so much I really felt bad for her. Anyways I recommend this place if you want a quick bite.

Really great eggs Bene’. Beautifully plated. Quite surprised as just thought it was a cabinet food place or grab a coffee at first but they offered table service and was well worth the stop.

Early Saturday morning when the rest of Commercial Bay is closed, this is a great little cage to pop into. Staff are friendly, the service is SUPER QUICK. Coffee and food were good for the money.

Commercial bay has hit the jackpot with Ruby and her team! Amazing service and all the food is heavenly - I'd recommend the grilled chicken pretzel roll if you're there for lunch. You can tell Ruby is the kind of owner who wants to make everyone feel welcome and special <3 My go-to lower queen street easy lunch spot

This place is amazing! They have scones worth to die for! Dates, walnuts and maple syrup freshly baked huge sized wholemeal scones! The young lady who served me offered to warm the scone up, which was so nice! The service is also great here! I recommend this place, when you drop by in the Commercial Bay.

Portion size was rather small for the price, but that’s CBD dining in general it seems. The food was good, the staff was great, the hot chocolate was a bit small for its price as well.

Sumptuous flavours and ingredients combined beautifully. The usual cafe fare elevated with the finesse of either a passionate chef or a great bunch of designed recipes. The eggs bene and bacon on jalapeño cornbread is a must.
