We called them earlier this week to ask if my partner could get a letter confirming her pregnancy and EDD and the nurse on the phone said that she can only give an ultrasound report and to go see the doctor if it’s not accepted. We went to the doctors on Thursday. My partner said she saw the doctor which only took less than five minutes and she came out not getting the letter for her pregnancy. And no one told her she had to pay anything, so she left and we received an invoice that night asking for payment. The appointment before that, she was asked to pay $30 upfront at the reception and then when she went in to see the doctor, he told her she shouldn’t pay anything since it’s for her pregnancy. She said she was embarrassed to go and ask the receptionist for a refund so she just left. The point of this is, there needs to be communication and better services. A nurse should know that an ultrasound report is not needed for the paid parental leave application. And if you’re supposed to pay before or after, make it consistent. And for not getting the letter she needed when she was told she could and paying for it, it just doesn’t seem necessary. We wouldn’t mind paying for the letter but it’s just why pay for something you didn’t get.

Doesn’t deserve a single star, I went to see doctor for my infant and gave details to the receptionist and told her that my son is not well and crying so I prefer to wait outside for 45 minutes until I get my turn but when I went back again then she said I’ll put you in queue now… I was shocked that how come she didn’t put me in queue..and what it mean if I said my son is not well and I want to wait outside then I’ll come back in the given time frame. She said did I ask her to put me in queue… do patients need to tell them to put them in the queue. worst experience ever with that lady. Hopefully the management will take some action.

Phoned a week earlier to book a phone consultation. I left my new phone number, reiterating that the old number was no longer in service. The appointed time arrived and no phone call. I phoned the clinic, and was advised that the Dr will be notified. I waited and waited. Frustrated, I phoned again thirty minutes before their closing time, just to find out that they rang the old number!! This Clinic is messed up! What happened to the excellent receptionists that used to be there? The Dr.s' are good, but the front desk is letting the Dr.s' and the clinic down.

Came in for urgent care on a public holiday. After waiting for several hours for our baby to be seen we asked if there were any facilities where we could warm up his bottle to feed him and we were told a straight up "No". Quite disappointing as there were heaps of babies waiting to be seen. Are our babies just meant to starve with your lack of doctors available? Husband then drove to westfield mall to heat up baby's bottle. Don't recommend.

Great team that do an amazing job under what must be very challenging circumstances a lot of the time. I have been coming here for years, yes at times there can be a long wait but I have complete faith that if I needed to be seen urgently I would be. All of the Drs and nurses I have seen here have done a great job and I always find the receptionists welcoming even though they are all obviously very busy. Thank you!

Definitely never going back there again. Took my 8 year old there on a Saturday afternoon as he was having a lot of pain in one if his ears. Receptionist abruptly interrupted me and said we have to go through the covid centre as i said my son had mild fever. I told her this was due to ear infection as he has had these in the past. She told me shes not a nurse and sent me through the covid centre. There we were placed in a room of a lot of very sick and coughing and sneezing people which i don't mind but definitely wasn’t necessary. It wasnt too full and i saw online that they werent too busy yet we were seen after almost 2 hours and the doctor saw my son for maybe 1 minute and confirmed it was an ear infection and said he will send through the prescription to chemist warehouse manukau. I went Chemist warehouse and they had not received anything, was told to wait and maybe it will arrive late. Waited for 30 mins almost and they were about to close, still nothing so i just bought some over the counter pain relief for my son as he was in pain. Next day i called the pharmacy again to check and nothing received still. I tried calling the nurse from the practise and kept getting disconnected so called reception and was told that no prescription was given. Was told i will get a call and havent heard from them so took my son to another doctor as he was still in pain. Really bad service and rude staff and once they realised it was a mistake still no urgency in getting in touch and getting the prescription through leaving my child to suffer in pain.

Went for repeat script waited for 2 hours when the receptionist said she forgot to put me in the queue. Asked another receptionist how long will it take from thereon, she said it will be a long wait. Couldn't wait longer so I left. 5 minutes later someone rang while I was driving, left a message to call them without leaving their name. I called the nurse few times and evertime the phone would disconnect. Hour later I rang the receptionist (different one this time) told her what happened. She was so unprofessional and with attitude. She wasn't helpful whatsoever and asked me to come to the clinic again the next day. Her tone was toxic. The management should be ashamed of themselves for having such frontline staff the patients have deal with. My family had endured this sub-standard service in the past as well. Reading at the other negative reviews makes me feel this is an ongoing issue at this clinic. Patients are required to register at one of the clinics in order to receive the subsidised treatment and this what the staff and management are taking advantage of, thinking patients have no choice but to put up with their abhorrent behavior. I will be moving to another clinic and ask others to do the same. Zero stars from me.

There could be someone dying and the doctors are taking their sweet time. We waited in the waiting area for almost 3.5 hours. I would not recommend it to anyone at all. Go to another healthcare provider to save yourself from pain. This is totally unacceptable. If there was a no star option, I would give them a zero.

Sharing feedback on behalf of my Dad. My 69yr old Dad works as a driver and has to schedule a doctor appointment around his work. We booked an appointment for him a week ahead. My Dad turned up to appointment 20mins earlier to ensure he doesnt miss the appointment. He sat waiting past his appointment time and was then told his Doctor is way behind schedule. Other clients were still waiting over 2hrs for the same doc. He's lost almost 3hrs of paid work for this incompetence. This place is so unprofessional. Lack of management and efficiency. On top of that, communications from reception is so bad it needs a whole new sweep of workers there.

One of the worst medical centres in Auckland. Rude receptionists and doctors. Recently took dad there for injury. First doctor who saw him was so rude and unprofessional. She asked me to take his bandages off while he had a injured foot. Like she was disgusted to even assess him. Horrible woman! Also been charged $60 for casual prescription. Receptionist kept on arguing with us about how we saw the doctor for prescription! While the doctor didn’t even check his medical conditions or consult him. It was literally taken his prescription from a previous doctor and sending prescription approval to a pharmacist. It says on their website casual prescriptions with GP approval is $30! No where on there price list that says $60 for casual patients prescription. Feels like these receptionists are making up numbers out of thin air! Taking advantage of persons need for urgent medication. Giving it a 1 star for the some kind nurses who helped us and did a fantastic job of dressing his wounds without discrimination. Apart from nurses horrible receptionists & doctors. Places like this should be investigated for the unethical and ridiculous amounts for overcharging elderly patients. Try to avoid going to this place unfortunately this is the only place that’s open til 8pm for emergencies in Manukau area.

We have been with Bakefield medical center for a number of years, we found the receptionists and nurses are always helpful. We normally see doctor William Angus and he is excellent. But today’s experience with doctor Cynthia was terrible, we found her abrupt, no patience/manner, rude, a bit of understanding and sympathy to explain certainly would help to ease the pain my husband was suffering

My experience while waiting to see a Doctor as a walk in patient Thursday 3rd August, 2023. Equally, my time I spent waiting in the patient seating area, plus my time spent with the Doctor then following through to the Chemist to collect my much needed prescription medicines. I walked in just a little before 10am, and after waiting for a wee while, I was seen by a very thorough Doctor a little after 1:30pm. I know I once got frustrated for having to wait so long almost 2yrs ago, but I, 100% want to acknowledge the commitment and hard work being provided by our receptionists, the training nurses and our Doctor's who are all employed by Bakerfield Medical & Urgent Care Clinic. Being a little more mature now, I wish to say that as a walk in, I absolutely accept that if someone has come into the Clinic whose needs are more urgent than mine e.g. little baby quite sick or a child grizzling who is upset because he/she is so unwell, or even one of our elderly folk whose urgent care needs are more urgent than my viral plus chest infection needs, I have learned a very good lesson today. I imagined myself in each of our most vulnerables shoes and I see just how much more understanding, and definitely more accepting I was able to be today. I am able to accept going to this Clinic and just waiting patiently to be seen now. I take away with me today from this Clinic, the chance to grow the art of being patient. One other thing I'd like to add is: It would be nice to see more power plug in sockets in the patient waiting areas so patients can charge their phones which may just help all patients to wait patiently to be seen. My sincere overdue apologies go to the Indian and Cook Island receptionists (who still man the receptionist's station) for my grumpiness and lack of patience to you ladies. (This is a long overdue apology to you both, which I should've apologized for my bad mood almost 2yrs ago). These 2 ladies were still working at reception today: The Indian and the Cook Island receptionists. No one goes to work to meet grumpy customers or patients, so thank you ladies for being willing to remain customer and patient focused. To all the Doctor's who were at work Thursday 3rd Aug, thank you for taking up this profession because us as patience absolutely need your experience and service. Thursday was not an easy day for all of the reception staff, nor the doctors, the little children, parents, our elderly and the rest of us patience. Just a huge thank you to you all for being at work on Thursday and every other day, because I have learned a lot today mainly to be grateful for your willingness to serve the public. Kindest regards Lydia

I want to thank the staff (admin, nurses and the doctor) that took excellent care of me today. Each and everyone of you were so gentle, kind and empathetic even though it was obvious how busy you all were - your standard of care to your patients stayed at a highly professional level and executed with humbleness. I left feeling valued, heard and respected.

Went to take my infant for a check up. I was told it will take approximately 2hours for walk in customers. I had waited for over 3hours just to see a doctor!!!! Like seriously. They need to increase the number of doctors for walk in customers instead of just 1 lousy doctor! (Or inform walk in customers immediately of the number of doctors for walk ins for people?) Aannnddd maybe a pediatrician to separate children from adults?

If there will be option to give stars less than 1 start i will give to these people. First of all the receptinist have no idea about how to talk. I feel like she was bit racist and does not know how to talk. I did ring them about international covid test, they said yes, we will do that and you will get result in 24 hours I drive all the way from Hamilton to Auckland. Then they said i need to come back tommorow again to drop off my sample in lab, which make me bit angry, bcz they should told me over the phone and they told me after charge $250 fee. Then i had no option test done by nurse and they both were looks (Fiji Indian) and they were so nice, they helped me and told me go to lab today and request them to take sample today. So, i do not need to come back for just drop off sample. I just follow nurses advice and luckily they got my sample and give result after 1 hours. It was negative, then i was waiting for my report to upload on Ministry of health India. Ring to labtest and they said that, we sent your report to Dr. and Dr. didnt answered my call 55 min. after that they said i need 2 hours wait because the people sitting here are more important bcz they are here from 8 am. So, do the mahi and people do not need to sit 6 hours to see Dr. Finally got report and upload in the system everything good to go now. But health system in NZ 😢😢🙄🙄. I will try not to go back over this place. Big thanks for Alisha and her work mate.

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction and frustration regarding my recent visit to your medical practice on 29th September 2023. The experience I had was undoubtedly the worst encounter I have ever had with healthcare professionals, and I feel compelled to bring these concerns to your attention. Upon arriving at your facility for a scheduled appointment, my family and I were appalled by the excessive wait times. We waited for nearly three hours, which is absurd, especially considering the appointment had been made in advance. I understand that unforeseen circumstances may cause delays, but such an extensive wait for a simple X-ray is inexcusable and demonstrates a lack of organizational efficiency. To add insult to injury, when it was finally our turn to see the doctor, my family's situation was overlooked and confused with that of another patient who had been waiting for a significantly shorter time. Despite my efforts to clarify the mix-up to your staff, their failure to comprehend my concern was both disheartening and unprofessional. I explicitly stated that it was our turn to see the doctor, and even the name on the paperwork matched mine, yet they proceeded to prioritize the wrong patient. It was only after this blatant negligence that they acknowledged their mistake, an acknowledgment that did nothing to alleviate our frustration. Moreover, during our prolonged stay, we observed numerous patients entering and exiting the premises within a much shorter timeframe. This blatant disregard for the order in which patients arrived only intensified our annoyance. As a Father with a six-month-old son and a six-year-old autistic daughter in tow, navigating the doctor's waiting room under these circumstances was an additional burden that I should not have had to endure. I must emphasize that the doctors' conduct, in this case, was utterly unprofessional and unacceptable. The length of time we were made to wait for a mere ten-minute consultation is entirely unreasonable. Your establishment's failure to implement an effective system to manage these excessive wait times displays a lack of consideration for your patients' time and well-being. It is essential to recognize that patient satisfaction and efficient healthcare should go hand in hand, and this experience fell far short of meeting those standards. I strongly urge you to address these issues promptly and implement measures to ensure that patients are seen in the order of their arrival, or based on the urgency of their medical condition when appropriate. Patients should not have to endure prolonged waits that severely impact their well-being and personal commitments. If you are unable to rectify these concerns and provide a satisfactory resolution, I regretfully inform you that I will be seeking healthcare services from alternative, more reliable providers. Trust in one's healthcare professionals is of the utmost importance, and the experience I endured at your practice has greatly diminished that trust. Please acknowledge receipt of this complaint promptly and communicate the steps you intend to take to prevent such occurrences in the future. I eagerly await your response and hope that you will take appropriate action to rectify these issues. Yours sincerely,

Have chosen Bakerfield due to their opening hours and ability to see a Doctor the same day if you arrive before 6:30pm-7pm however wait times are long and you need to be prepared to wait. Dr Tane is an asset to Bakerfield, is really thorough and listens, Dr William Angus is another preferred Doctor.

Absolutely disgusting customer service. My father called to make a booking, but his usual doctor is going on holiday so can't see him before he goes as he is fully booked. So the nurses advised to just walk in and see a doctor. So he walks into the clinic and they tell him to take a seat and 2 hours later he goes to the counter and asks the receptionist how many more patients before he is seen and she laughs and says "not sure about 15 more". What kind of rubbish customer service is this? You can't expect someone to just spend their whole day in the waiting room especially after you advised them that they can just do a walk in and whats with the condescending response? Just disgusting. Next time at least advise your patients it may take the entire day before you are seen so the patient can decide weather its worth going to the clinic or managing with OTC medication which can be dispensed in under 5 mins and lose the attitude.

This review is for Dr. TANE TAYLOR. I went to see a doctor for my son today and randomly was seen by him. I was not very well myself as my right eye was swollen shut. He made sure he asked me about my symptoms and that kind of explained why my son got the same thing. He was generous enough in prescribing correct medication for myself and giving me life saving advice as my problem was very serious. Wish we have more gp's like him :) He is an asset for bakerfield clinic. All the best doctor. Regards Rosh

Saw the reviews beforehand but needed my toddler to see a Dr asap so bit my teeth and came here. Was actually surprised that I was able to sign up and then get my toddler seen all within half an hr. The guy receptionist was helpful, the nurse was friendly and the Dr got a second opinion for my toddler for reassurance. The only thing was the pharmacy took quite a while to receive the prescription from the Dr's reception and then took a while to fulfill the script also

Tried Bakersfield Medical and my experience was the nurses were ok, only one Doctor on who didn't know they were supposed to be working. Clinic opened at 8am, Doctor arrived at 9.20am. Spent over 3 hours there and it appeared that their registered patients were given priority. Prescribed antibiotics and the amount was wrong and had to go back to have it corrected. Wouldn't go back again.

Real bad servive. I walk in with my kid (on Tuesday 6th September) for her second COVID vaccination. Then we have to wait for one and a half an hour without any response from them. We have asked for several times to get my girl have vaccinated, the receptionistseems like doesn't happy to reserve. Probably vaccinations is FREE SERVIVE so that what we had, thought. One and a half an hour to wait just to have vacation with the bad servive. 👎

The doctors here are amazing. Especially Dr William Angus and Dr Sahar. They are both very kind, empathetic, wise and genuinely concerned for you. The nurses are kind and friendly. However, the receptionist are horrid. They couldn’t care less for you and your wait times. (The male receptionist is lovely, but not the female receptionist. She is rude and cold) All in all, I wouldn’t recommend here if you’re on an urgent need to see a doctor without an appointment as the wait times are really really long and the receptionist is cranky when you go and ask when will it be your turn. If you’re not in a rush, then I highly recommend booking an appointment with Dr William Angus or Dr Sahar. (Tips: You can call the clinic and request for a callback so you won’t be waiting on the phone for someone to pick up the call. They usually call back after 2 hours. Or you can book your appointment online on Vensa if you’re registered with this clinic.) They are really understanding and in my opinion, the best GPs in Auckland so far. (Coming from a perspective of a patient with numerous health conditions that requires long time care and maintenance) Parking can be an issue when it’s busy, just remember not to park in front of Salvation Army as your car will get towed away. Free wifi is available so if you’re waiting in the waiting room, you can go to the wall and there’s a poster there with the wifi password for you to use. There’s some snacks and beverages available in the chemist next door for those who are wanting something light to snack on. Hope this review helps you guys. Lastly, stay safe, stay healthy and rock on! ❤️🙏🏻

This place doesn't even deserve to be called as urgent medical care. We waited there for over 3 hours. Receptionist don't even know what is emergency and sending anyone. She kept telling us you are next in line for 3 hours. End up leaving because doctors don't want to look paitents they spend more time sitting empty rather then seeing paitents. Better to avoid and go to local doctors

To be honest I really don't understand the waiting times for walk ins. I've seen just a handful of people sitting in the waiting room, a lot of doctors available for urgent care, yet the wait times are 4 hours? How does that make sense? In my past experience I've had to wait with my daughter who had a fever for over 3 hours to be seen, and from my perspective the doctors seemed to be taking their time and when it came to our turn finally the doctor just couldn't even give us 5 minutes and started shoving us out the door it felt like. It really doesn't make sense if every patient is given 15 minutes with a doctor then 4 patients should be seen in an hour but it really felt like in a whole hour the doctor would just come out once which is weird. Also, they are now becoming late for appointments as well. What's the point of an appointment if you're sitting there for nearly an hour over time? Very disappointing.

I used to be registered with Bakerfield when it was quality care of quality. I recently visited the A&E centre and while I was waiting in one of the cubicles a senior nurse made a comment directed at me to a doctor who was coming in to assess me “Dr, oh never mind she’s a complicated patient” and walked off. The doctors that saw me apologised on her behalf. I do understand that there is a high demand with NZ health system with shortage on staff but the quality of care from this practise has declined significantly which is really sad.

Was told (Last Friday) that they'll send my prescription to the pharmacy next to where I live and I can go in anytime to pick up. Went in today (Monday) to pickup the meds only to be told there's nothing on the pharmacy system. Called Bakerfield clinic and was told they haven't sent the prescription yet... And they'll send it on Thursday. I just wasted 50mins waiting for nothing. You fukwits need to be more specific on when you're going to fkn send prescriptions to the pharmacy!!!!

First time here, I called told there was no charge but when I got there I had to pay casual rate. Besides this the service was exceptional, Dr Tane was positive and informative, and even rebooked an appointment for following week while I was getting a strap put on my foot. The receptionist sitting on the left when you walk in very efficient and helpful and so were the nurses. Very quick service, this also included x-rays.

Reception Staff - 4 staffs were just standing laughing/ talking and i was waiting in queue in front of them. . They saw me waiting but didn’t approach . Seriously ridiculous service , No politeness at all . That Fiji Indian lady with glasses doesn’t know how to treat people being holding that receptionist position . Get some good staff or train them well .

The reception staff is very bad, they dont know how to talk they are very rude always. they say at 7pm that they are not taking any patients does not matter how serious a person is and they ask to go to hospital, even when they know even in hospital the sick patient has to wait for a very long time without doctor referral. Few Nurses dont even reply if you ask them anything looks like they promote racism.

I took my brother, who was having a severe gastric episode, there at 7.30 pm yesterday, looking for a prescription for anti-emetics, as recommended by the pharmacist at Manukau City Chemist Warehouse, only to be told by the doctor that he need an IV drip and we should go to Middlemore A&E thereby resulting in a 6.5 hour wait for an IV anti-emetic injection but no drip. My brother got the impression the doctor just wanted to go home. The doctor didn't even take the time to formally refer us, which could have speeded things up a little.

I used to be enrolled at Bakersfield as a child right through to becoming a mother. I would say i learned a lot in regards to nurturing babies and sick children from this practice. I left Auckland and then New Zealand and almost 20 years later i have returned with health issues that have been on going since not long after i left and am truly grateful Bakersfield is still here and how much it felt like home from the moment i walked in. The direct and ethical standards of the doctors are outstanding. There is minimal tangata whenua and/or tauiwi culture but ALL patients are treated the same which is what you would expect from Health Care. The atmosphere and the environment is exactly how i remember it, from the reception to the nurses, through to the doctors and over to the pharmacist. Other than the new layout, I would say the only thing that has changed is Dr Cliff's hair colour. THANK YOU Bakersfield Manukau for still being here and doing what you do.

I went to Bakersfield today , for and overdue test of pap test , nurse mona attended me , I did this test before but the experience with her was like a free test and free advice. She explained the whole process and reason, also advice safety tips which, hardly anyone will explained till asked . She was also gentle and kind . Thanks mona

Thanks for the wonderful treatment we received at this clinic. Both my husband and I cannot fault the service right from start to finish. We did not have to wait long and within 1 hour were signed in, seen the Dr and received medication from the pharmacy at the clinic. Your kindness and compassion is exactly what we needed and I thank you for your hard work and diligence.

Been here today. Waiting for 4 hours and lots of people came after me be called ahead. Staffs should show an empathy attitude and feel for sick patients waiting that long especially for unprofessional receptionists. The board said waiting time 2h30mins but they did not tell patient and ended up waiting that long. It was used to a good GP but now turned up to the worst Gp ever. Not deserve 1 star.

Lack of communication from reception and horrible attitudes from the Indian lady. We walk in and paid $150/person as visitor to NZ. Receptionist told us to wait and there was an Indian lady called us in, asked us what we are here for today. I said my aunt has 3 DIFFERENT TYPES OF DESEASES and she needs to see a doctor and get medicines URGENT. But the Indian lady told us to book for a comeback next week??? We said we have paid and receptionist said we are okay for walk in and they do have walk in service, besides what’s the whole points of these. People needs their medicines because they can’t buy until the doctor’s advice and you said comeback next week so if people die during that week you just gonna be “meh, what a shame”?? What kind of work ethic that suppose to save people’s live is that? To the Indian nurse, know that you will never get a promotion from your attitude and don’t even blame it on patients like us. I’ve read a lot of reviews on Google that talked about your attitude. You make the whole medical thing look like some kind of hair salon’s appointment, nail’s appointment. Half of the year already and you’re not changing at all.

😠 Arrived at 4pm, was advised by receptionist we have long wait times between 3-4 hours. It's now 9:30pm and for the past hour I have been told I am 4th in the line to see a doctor. Management of this clinic needs to do something about their policy and procedures. If walk in patient service can not be...

👍👍 We took my 2yrs 10 month old son to Dr Preet after he was diagnosed with lung infection and pneumonia. My son was also dependent on inhalers in winter as he would have breathing problems each time he contracted a viral/bacterial infection. We noticed so much improvement in my son after visiting Dr P...
