If I could give this place no stars I would. After 40 odd years at this practice my wife and I are moving to another. Since the Tend takeover of Pakuranga Medical the service has all but disappeared. The phones are now shunted through a call centre. Try getting through and you are told to wait a few minutes which soon becomes 20 and then get fobbed off by the reception person who hasn’t a clue about what you are asking. When finally we did get through my wife was told we had to book another appointment even though this was for a urine test which needed to be repeated 4 days later. With Tend now operating this practice, it’s all about money not looking after the welfare of customers. I would remind the owners this is not My Food Bag! A previous venture of theirs. For other Doctors or practices reading this, DONT follow this Tend model, that is unless you want to reduce patient numbers 🫤

They discriminate and couldn’t care less about their customers Health, only money . I went to make an online booking and they first wouldn’t accept it because I didn’t have a credit card, then when I found one they wouldn’t accept my booking because there was no money on it, as I was wanting to pay cash at the time .What an insult and its just Disgusting behaviour, no more than of corporate greed. This is not even legal especially when you have already been paid by the Government every year for the last 20 years without fail as a retainer paid up front, to look after my family and I when we need it . I’ll be making a formal complaint to the medical board ,and we also now looking for new doctors who care about our health First, before making themselves more money.

Great Online and Reception experience, digital payments via visa made life much easier. Clean, well presented clinic. Negatives: - The app booked me with a doctor who wasn't accepting new patients - The doctor was upset by this, overall unwelcoming experience with GP - If you're a new patient, transferring your files from your previous GP by requesting digitally over the app only fills in your personal info; no relevant medical history was available to my doctor who was upset by this & unhappy with my attempt to summarize briefly. For this reason I'll likely seek another practice; so I don't face the wrath of another Doctor not anticipating my appointment. To Summarise: My GP wasn't happy I had accidentally booked but reluctantly gave me a vaguely-written referral out, no more than a vague diagnosis, one day off work and a distinct lack of a pain management prescription. Basically if you're the unfortunate soul who books with an unavailable doctor, they won't let you forget it and they will do the bare minimum happily. The app itself seems mostly flawless though, thanks.

Since selling this practice has gone downhill. After being there all my life (32 years) I have moved me and my family. It’s lost its family touch that it once had. Also my mum who had a stroke a few months ago got a text from tend saying “please make an appointment to discuss your blood results with a doctor” obviously this panicked her as you don’t do that unless something is wrong especially worded like that - her blood results were normal… in fact better then previous ones!!!! So was it just a money maker to get her to make an appointment? In the past if something was wrong the dr would just call. Her and my dad have also since moved practices after being there over 30 years. Very disappointed, we know multiple other people who have also left. What a shame as Pakuranga Medical has always been a family based clinic but it has now lost every bit of the family aspect for us.

The GP I visit is fantastic, less can be said about the rest of the services they provide.. appointments, prescriptions and customer service leave a lot to be desired. They perform far from what they claim on their website "Our vision is to provide a centre of excellence enhancing the lives of our patients." Sad to say in recent months I have felt my life less than enhanced.

I totally agree with the post I have read on the poor service of the practice. I have experienced shocking service from their staff in terms of prescriptions, appointments and the website. There is very little customer service and no accountability. Now that my GP has retired I will be looking for a new practice I have lost all trust and confidence is dealing with Pakuranga Family Medical.

Drove 40 minutes from the shore to visit because my old GP moved here; well worth the drive! The team are all friendly and it is rare to actually have Doctors who follow up and go above and beyond. 100% would recommend to anyone.

Too bad service i will never ever recommend to anyone . Today I Called them to ask for my wife ‘s blood test result. I just want to know and discuss about test result with doctor . They said i have to pay again to know the results report. That’s not right even i had already paid for test result . Then what the reason behind doing blood test if i can’t know it. why we pay for it.

Has gotten worse since Tend took over. It doesn’t matter what situation you’re in, payment comes first then basic medical care. Not adequate or appropriate care, just basic. The service and use of the app is beyond awful and then having to explain your phonecall to 12 different people is ridiculous. Tend medical isn’t worth driving across Auckland City for anymore. PakMed was a great source in supporting mental health, since moving with Tend. They are the stressor to a patient’s mental health.

My husband had his first online appointment via the app and it was great. Having to see a doctor virtually and get prescriptions and work med certificate all at once is pretty awesome. This is really good for those for are too sick to drive themselves to the clinic. Highly recommend

One of the best and nicest medical centres i’ve been. I am a new patient here and was warmly welcomed by receptionist. I have never met someone so kind and welcoming which made me feel really comfortable. The nurse there was super friendly and kind. She was very understanding and it really made me feel like I was at home. The doctor I saw was also super kind and serious. He explained my injury really well and gave me some medications to help before seeing a specialist. Would definitely recommend this place 👍

The tend app is a joke. I booked an appointment and when i turn up to my appointment the receptionist tells me that my booking was cancelled by “other”. The app is a waste of time and you cant be booked unless u have sufficient funds on your visa card. It looks like its all about money rather than ensuring patients are seen for health reasons. This not only wasted my time but also I was annoyed. I have being a patient at pakuranga medical centre for many years and they had lovely doctors however recently they have new doctors and I personally feel that my concerns are not being heard. I am thinking of looking for another medical centre that provides better healthcare rather than after your money.

My 19 year old son was seen by Dr Richard Mercer today. He got frustrated with us because my son was asking questions and he threw his pen on his desk to show his frustrations which is very unprofessional. We are paying $51 so we get answers to our questions. I wouldn’t recommend him to anyone at all. Very disappointed with his service! We did not even spend more than 10 minutes in his room. $51 for less than 10 minutes and did not meet our expectations at all! If there is less than a 1 star rating here that is what I would pick.

My GP here was good but he was often away so I would see other doctors. You need to push with these doctors because they will fob you off because you’re young and “fit”. I got diagnosed with a permanent medical illness in June - which has changed my whole life as I’ve had to move from Auckland to Christchurch for treatment and thank god I did as the team here are so much better. This illness could have been identified earlier and wouldn’t have progressed to as far as it did if the doctors did their jobs properly first time around and didn’t keep fobbing me off due to my young age and physical appearance being fit. Suggest the doctors here reevaluate why they want to practice medicine in the first place as their decisions no matter big or small can have an impact on someone’s life. Don’t recommend. Find a doctor and practice who has passion for people

My GP Dr Wan is excellent but I totally agree with the post I have read on their poor service of the practice. I have experienced shocking service from their staff on the phone call for my appointment, I feel the stuff don't have patience talk to me and cannot wait to hang up the phone lol😂

Great doctors, but the introduction of the tend app has made booking an appointment unnecessarily difficult. I'm young and simply don't want anymore apps, but for an elderly person it would be near impossible to book an appointment, I'll be moving to a practice with better systems in place.

Amazing service... Especially Dr. JI-Young park... My sister was dealing with mental frustration due to some recent events... But after she met Dr. J Pakr, she completely restarted everything. Dr. Park is not only a General Practitioner but also a phycologist being a friend in need. Can't thank you enough for the support you're giving to the community Highly Recommended 🙏🙏🙏

I re-enrolled with tend as soon as I saw tend was now in pakuranga which is close to where I now live. The 2 original tends in auckl city were amazing for me. However the app now says anything that is visible on camera can be dealt with (my infected eczema) but the doctor has declined a medical certificate and also wants me to go in clinic knowing full well I have the common cold or flu. This is the second time I have been declined a medical cert. The first time I was declined the doctor said he had no time for that. Struggling with my health and now for the past month struggling financially without the help of work and income because I can’t renew my benefit without a medical cert. (Since I obviously can’t go in to work and income for a face2face appointment with this cold or flu!)

The medical center looks quite new and there is parking around the back of Courtney Place. I came for a blood test and the facilities were nice. There was also other medical services in the building. There is an entrance off Ti Rakau Drive.

I have been at Pakuranga Medical Centre since I was a baby. Now that Tend has come onboard it is terrible, service and customer care. They have lost all their personal touch. I tried to call & get an appointment for my sick 9month old baby and they couldn’t even let me speak to a nurse. Very frustrating. Just wanted some guidance.

Much better experience than the first time I went. Recent visit's have been reasonably well. It might take time to find a doctor you like, but be patient - you will find a good one. I still find the overall Tend experience much better than my previous clinic, and seem to have much better access to a GP or NP now. Thank you Tend for helping me stay well.

Dr. Bushra exceeded my expectations. I feel my issues were suitably addressed. Clean and tidy, new, friendly receptionists. It would be a bonus if visitors were encouraged to wear a face mask.

I have been with them for about 10 years, the experience had always been amazing. Doctors and staff were always so nice and friendly. Yes, I said it WAS awesome. Until recently TEND took over, I am soo disappointed. It makes me feel like I am just a number to them. My child's appointment got cancelled 3 times and then finally this time it is rescheduled but to a online consultation. Anyway...sad to see the great clinic gone, and I am very disappointed.

Great family practice! Clean, modern and like that everything is in the one place (blood tests, scans, pharmacy etc) Lovely Doctors and Nurses. Dr Vimmi, Dr Wan are very good Doctors have lots of time for you and great with children.

The doctors are great but the app and Tend overall is just awful. I have tried setting up the app numerous times but it doesn't work - the code doesn't come through. My other family members have really found the whole process unpleasant and unnecessary and have had similar problems with every aspects. I now need to see a GP and thought it couldn't be that bad but is it. Tend is about making money, and not providing care. The practice previously had great online services that are now gone and replaced by the self serving nonsense that is tend. Tend is a backwards step from what the practice had previously. I look forward to finding out where the doctors leave and go to elsewhere and I will follow them.

My wife visited today with our sick 4 year old son and our sick 2 year old daughter. The doctor in question quickly looked at my son and then refused to look at my daughter, apparently the doctor was too busy to see to a sick infant, we were shocked. 😲

Very poor management. my kid is registered in this clinic, he was very sick when called they said you have to take appointment which 3 days away. There are no walkins allowed even registered patients. Waste of time..

By far the best doctors I’ve ever had in my 26 years of living. Extremely lovely, supportive and understanding staff. Would 10/10 recommend anyone wanting a change of docs or moving to Auckland. I myself moved 30-60 minutes away and still kept them as my doctors, just would do phone appts. Haven’t really dealt with many of the doctors except Dr Booth and she’s INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!! Have also had the nurse and once again, absolutely awesome!!! Pakuranga Medical Centre is by far my favourite medical centre and if I could give 10 out of 5 stars, I would. Huge thumbs up to you guys!! And golden stars all round! 👍⭐️🌟✨

When you pay $56 a visit not including prescriptions and have more than 1 issue but get told by your G.P you've known for years that you can only deal with 1 of the issue's due to time or business you wonder why your still going there also when you pay that much why you have to wait up to 2 weeks for an available spot its now come to a decision to look for another practice care has now fallen below the average just saying.
