Turned me away despite me being suicidal and responding 'probably' to the question 'do you think you'll kill yourself within the next few months?'. Told me that my eating disorder symptoms will go away when I start uni again, and ignored my paranoia and self harm. They trivialised most of my problems. I understand that there may be people worse off than me, but that doesn't mean I don't also deserve and need help. Really let down by this DHB service. (Not to mention the building itself is just kind of grotty to be honest - not a clean, welcoming place).

Cornwall house refused to help me when I was suicidal including discharging me 2 days after an overdose. They also screwed me for meds for over a month which resulted in my destablization and treated me like I was just another bpd symtom. Please for the life of you NEVER use this service.

Terrible experience. I Was told I was 'blocked from the service' for missing too many calls...I missed one call. After calling back almost immediately I was told they would be in touch with me, One week goes by with no contact so I called again and was told that I had been "blocked". When I tried to explain that I had only missed one call I was told "just because you get a referral here doesn't mean you will be accepted". Extremely irresponsible and cold behaviour from people whose job it is to support vulnerable people. Yet again, I feel let down and disrespected by mental health services and completely discouraged from continuing to seek help. These reviews speak for themselves, If your doctor has given you a referral to Cornwall house, I would strongly suggest you ask what your other options are.

Complete waste of time, offered no real help and was super judgmental and backwards in views and advice. Sleeping issues were told to be fixed by 'googling solutions for myself' 'drinking a glass of milk and having a meal right before bed' ??? do not recommend at all, walked out feeling more frustrated and helpless than I did walking in

In the beginning this place was working well for me, I had nightly calls and the team seamed so lovely. As time progressed nothing was changing for me, I felt like I was making no progress and getting no answers, I had to ask to get screenings done. The people here are lovely but the whole mental health system is broken and we are suffering.

love the receptionists to pieces, they're the kindest people ever. certain staff have trouble respecting boundaries, and don't care too much for following up when you're basically begging for help. every person i met seemed to have been let down by the staff a multitude of times on top of that.

An absolute disgrace

Sometimes felt left without help, but may have been this one particular key worker. Everyone else was amazing and seemed to care and to try to help. What made a difference was to bring someone for support, and to advocate for you

They really do their best to make sure you're safe, and provide eveything they can, under a very limiting goverment budget.
