Walked to the waterfall with my mum squad and the minis - was a great little walk and they had so much fun in the mud. Fantastic little adventure for any skill level.

An incredible adventure for any age and group of people with lots of parking available and the spots for camping and tents. The waterfall isn’t much worth seeing overall the top might be pretty good since we went on the bad weather so here some pics. Might visit again on the sunny day.

Really I enjoyed a couple of hours in this lovely regional park while staying in the area. Take the time to explore the various beaches and short walking tracks

Good day to be out & about - sun is shining, bright, windy, pleasant and long weekend! Shakespeare Regional Park is a perfect spot for a day hike + swim + water sports & picnic 🧺 It’s under 2.5 hours drive from Auckland 👍 This is my 2nd time here- great for sunsets 🌅 Recommend it! 👍

Awesome place for spend your weekend with the family.. Been here with my husband just for walk (it's a first time) and we didn't expect that the place is not just beautiful with landscape but also there are many kind of birds.. Some track is a bit longer, but you can always turn around and back if you think could not make it to all the tracks. It was so amazing view.. Also the path/track is well maintained, so that's make easier to do the walk.

This sanctuary is located in the northern region of Auckland on the Whangaparoa peninsula. You are treated to sandy white beaches with clear water, plenty of shade under the decades and sometimes centuries old pohutukawa trees. Shared spaces and facilities and if you're going to have a BBQ and forget your grill, you'll find one there for you to use. Walking trails take you to the top with a great view of the coast and as far as you can see. Make sure to leave any of your pets at home especially dogs, no matter the size. It is a strictly no dog sanctuary, not even in cars. Also keep in mind to BRING A TRASH BAG so you can haul your trash out with you. So make sure you pack what you need and reusable containers to mitigate your use of single use items. Have fun and enjoy.

There are a number of walking trails in the park, ranging from short and easy walks to more challenging hikes. Some of the popular trails include the Heritage Trail, which takes you past a waterfall and Maori rock art, and the Lookout Trail, which offers stunning views of the Hauraki Gulf.

"Shakespear Regional Park is an absolute gem nestled near Auckland, New Zealand. From the moment I entered the park, I was surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. The coastal views are simply stunning, and the diverse range of walking trails offers something for every adventurer. Whether you're seeking a leisurely stroll or a more challenging hike, this park has it all. The birdlife here is phenomenal, and I was lucky enough to spot some rare and beautiful species. The lush greenery and pristine beaches make this park a haven for nature enthusiasts and photographers alike. The facilities are top-notch, with clean restrooms and well-maintained picnic areas perfect for enjoying a relaxing day out. The visitor center provides valuable information about the park and its ecosystem, adding educational value to the experience. One of the highlights for me was the camping area. Waking up to the sound of the waves and the fresh, salty breeze was a truly rejuvenating experience. The camping facilities are well-maintained, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend visiting Shakespear Regional Park to anyone looking for a day of outdoor adventure, a peaceful retreat, or a memorable camping experience. It's a place that truly showcases the natural wonders of New Zealand and leaves a lasting impression on all who visit. I can't wait to return to explore more of this beautiful coastal haven and create more wonderful memories."

An expansive reserve with beaches, lovely bush walk through a kiwi sanctuary and a climb to a lookout with views over East Coast Bays and across the Waitemata Harbour to Auckland City.

Great tracks, native bush, farmland, and almost 360 views of the gulf. Campgrounds are always well kept

It has a wider lawn field and many trees than any other beach, so you can enjoy the lots shade of trees. The sea is calm, so it's safe for children to play

Most amazing views. We did the Lookout track and it’s a steep walk up/down to the Lookout point but so worth it. Hike is about 4kms. Highly recommend, especially on a clear day.

Visited after a raining day. There were lots of puddles along the entrance road, carpark area & grass reserve. But still dry walking if you chose the right walk from park to beach No dogs further into the reserve but allowed at the beaches on each side of the no dogs entrance

Great place to camp, toilet facilities with shower, water and bbq area with ample picnic tables. Very affordable site with many hiking/bicycle path options. could hear Kiwis in the brush close to camp all night and a clearr view of the night sky for star gazing and checking constellations.Caught a friendly scout troup there the next morning and saw a few shooting stars. Absolutely would recommend for a stopover camp site. all secure and locked within a massive campsite area by coded padlocked gate🤙😎 AAA+ Rating

What a slice of paradise! Beautiful white sands beach, huge park/grounds right beside the beach, clean toilets, water taps. Short and long hikes, the lookout is a 5 min walk uphill. I rate this place highly, one of my favorites, go there 🥰

I usually go there for the walk and some barbecue. I love the loop that takes you from the park to all around the valley. Not at all tough. Quite beautiful view when you go all around the park. I have been there many times and enjoyed it throughly :)

Such a lovely park! I love that there's lots to do there. Huge public picnic areas with bbqs and benches, walks, cycle trails, historic buildings and of course the beach. We stayed at the campground and enjoyed the beach and walking up the lookout. All the trails are well groomed and signposted. The beach was perfect for the stroller too!

Shakespear Regional Park is huge, and has so much to offer! 💕 It has a campsite, and caravan park (hard pass for me on both), with picnic 🧺 benches dotted throughout, and under some of the most beautiful Pōhutukawa trees 🌲 It is amazing! I wasn't there long enough, but couldn't see a restaurant or cafe. That would have just been the cherry on the cake 🍰 There is a beach to go to, meadows to explore, light walking and more difficult hiking trails 🥾 and some of the best indigenous fauna and flora. There is apparently a waterfall as well, but by then I was a bit gatvol (had enough) of all the sun and heat 🌞 so I turned around 🚶‍♀️ I was held hostage by a peahen 🦚 She got in front of my car when I tried to leave LOL Bring the family for a picnic and a dip in the ocean 🏖

Absolutely gorgeous walk with beautiful views all around without hardly any effort! Higly recommend if you in the area, it can't get any easier. Make sure u drop to the WWII bunker - Pillbox! And if you are lucky, might spot a kiwi bird as the sightings are regular here.

Gorgeous views and the terrain changes from bush to fields to coastline then to beach. So there’s plenty to keep you interested. Great trail run and walk, would highly recommend as it’s not difficult and the path is well laid out.

Has a good stretch of beautiful sandy beach, a few short walks through bush and paddock, lots of park benches and barbecues. There are decent toilets + changing room, seems like a great place to go camping. Lots of interesting birds to see.

Leafy walking track. There is a little waterfall as well. Very good maintenance road and not very challenging walking track. It is great for families activities.

More than an hour drive from east Auckland. There are several beautiful spots that you can choose. There's an area where you can fish then there's the area good for picnic and swimming. We came early so plenty of space and good spots to choose from under the trees, but area gets crowded towards the afternoon. BTW, if you get lucky you get to be swimming with some black/grey swans as well.

Beautiful place. Had a great swim at sunset. Good signage, good grounds. Had to walk back to the beach from army bay after 7pm and had been a little worried we wouldn't be able to get through the gates on foot, but it was very easy to navigate and a pleasant moonlit walk!

😐 staff are great! friendly and supportive. I wouldn't pay for an unlimited pass again though. The only ride worth paying unlimited for would be the luge. quick turn around time and loads of fun. Nice track for kids and adults. The tire slide is tiny and no fun for adults, good ride for under 5s. The...

👍 If you enjoy being outdoors on the beach it's a good place for an early morning workout or if that's a little too much starting here and walking towards the southern end and back might be more relaxing. If you have children it's a good escape from them or it's a good escape for them
