Went for a stroll through the dog friendly Waiatarua Reserve this morning and had a great time, so many happy four legged friends around for my dog Ziggy to meet and greet, there are some great tracks to walk around and we even found this playground which had a basketball hoop and skate ramp! Will be back here for sure. James Ashwin Kakapo Business Sales

Great off-leash Park for walking your dog. My dog just loves this park and starts crying with excitement about half a kilometre before we get there because she loves it THAT much! Also lovely to see the variety of birds - ducks, black swans and herons at ground level and tūī, kākāriki and fantails flying in and out of trees!

It's a great place to take a dog for a walk of leash. The loop is a nice walk and there are a few side tracks as well. In wet times there are lots of mud puddles, so if you don't want a dirty dog after your walk, maybe pass on this wetland. There is a pond setup for dog swimming as well as part or the loop.

A massive walking/running:cycling nature reserve and plenty of space for dog walking too. Love that there’s a swimming hole under the bridge that our dog loves! There is a stick library there and a forest walk that will make your doggy walk interesting too. A great place for dogs to be social as well. There is also a hose in the very nice car park where you can give your furby a drink or wash him down if they get dirty. Lots to see here and very uplifting - fresh air and nature, a duck pond and lots of areas for your dog to run and play. It’s our boys most favourite place since he was a puppy. One thing that stands out is how friendly other dog owners are too.

Great place to take your dog for a walk. For a change it is a good for jogging as well. One entire loop take 60 minutes for walk and 20 minutes or less for jog depending on your speed.

Delightful large urban reserve. Great walking loop around the outside of the wetlands with some open grassed areas too. It can be rather wet / muddy after rains though. Be prepared to wash your dog if they get into the many muddy pools along the way after rain. Dogs are not allowed into the wetland areas, but there is a largish pool that seems to be OK for dogs.

This is a fantastic please to take your dog off lead. A small walking loop that is flat. Warning: You may need gumboots after a heavy rain or just cut your walk short.

Great for dog walks/walks in general. Definitely need boots on wet conditions as some of the path has been sloshed in mud.

One of my favourite dog walking parks this side of the city. Can get very muddy and wet, especially in winter. Easy loop track wide enough for people dogs and cyclists to share. Lots of new plants planted the last few weeks which will make it an even greater outdoor space.

Amazing massive place for off leash dogs. Variety of natural landscapes, so specially great for puppies to experience lots of things in one trip. Water and hose to wash your dog’s paws before leaving. Free poop bags. Good parking. It would be great if there was more trash bins on the paths.

👍 Nice Mini Golf right at the shore line, easy to get to by Bus from the CBD, good facilities and good prices. Certainly makes fun to go mini golfing there, also you have two different scenarios to choose from. Nicely build course overall.
