Great park to walk around Just be a bit careful during non-peak hours as there are some dodgy people around. And in the past some cars windows have been broken into. But overall such a nice park with an OK beach. The road going down is a bit narrow though so be extra careful.

Road to beach not very good to much holes and bush walk r short but goodEntrance can be a bit intimidating driving down, but the park and beaches are wonderful. Plenty of parking, 2x public toilets available, poo bags are provided for people walking their dogs and plenty of rubbish bins around. There's a playground for the kids, and a bqq area at the top. A great place to walk your dog, lots of tree cover for a sunny day picnic. Easy - Medium 30 -40min semi "bush" walk around the park with access to the beach, and one track leads to a vertical of stairs (medium-difficult, but well worth the view at the top).

Beautiful views and history of the beach and forest canopy. Can be quite a walk down, sometimes steep on the steps but wooden seats to sit on for a rest.... wonderful bird life to see and listen too.

Waikowhai Park is the jewel in a network of parks on the northern banks of the Manukau Harbour. This park is a significant ecological area. The large block of regenerating forest is home to lots of wildlife. It acts as both a linkage and a buffer between the coast and adjacent residential areas. A good network of navigable paths link the playground, lookout and dog walking area

Down the end of the road from the playground is a pretty perfect spot to recharge the batteries.

Good short walk for the mild fit. Well maintained track. Very quiet and the rocks with green moss was beautiful

Great with the kids, 2 small playgrounds with a giant slide joining them. The walk to the lookout is an hour long so didn't attempt that with the wee ones. But if you turn left there's a fun 30min (return) hike back up to the roadside through the forest. 2, and 6 year old approve.

It's like a hidden gem. A beautiful place to park your car and watch the sea. Also nice for walking and cycling. Toilets and table for eating are available.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PARK :) BEEN COMING HERE ONLY FOR 5 YEARS, WHEN THE OLD PARK WAS STILL THERE, BEEN UPGRADED SINCE THEN AND OUR EXTRA WIDE SLIDE STILL A FEATURE. GREAT LOOKOUT POINT, AND FACILITIES AVAILABLE e.g BBQ, TOILETS, TABLES, COASTAL WALKS AND BEACH ACCESS.

Good picnic spot for a small group, has only about 20 car parks. Amazing views towards Manukau harbour and walking trails.

Blessed to have been introduced to this park...lovely walks, stunning views, and convenient location. Perfect place to enjoy a family picnic without having to go too far or plan too much.

Road down to Faulkner Bay is closed due to a large slip right across the road. Bush track above Wesley Bay (Captains Bush) is closed due to multiple impassible slips. Track from Cape Horn Road to Wattle Bay is closed. Track from Canberra Ave to Wattle Bay is closed.

Hidden gem, big playground area for the kids, nice lookout and a place to hang, have tracks to walk the dog, if only the owners can pick up after their dogs business....nice views
