The red haired girl is obnoxious and too loud. We don’t need to as customers know about how broke she went on her trip to Europe for past two months. She’s quite an odd employee in comparison to other more normal staff. Perhaps the owner should make changes as we are made to feel uncomfortable by her pity broke stories during her trip to Europe. Super annoying to visit here recently and a lot of us in the viaduct precinct would be delighted if she simply didn’t work at Rush Worth.

Ordered an iced flat white and got an iced latte. Thought that was no big deal and went back to order an iced Americano instead. I was served half a litre of a highly acidic, light brown liquid in a pint glass that didn't taste anything like coffee. Hard pass

Operates like a Starbucks now despite being a loyal supporter I was disappointed to have the idea of a pre-paid coffee card shoved down my throat by Ryan this morning which I didn’t appreciate and met this concept with significant indifference. I don’t frequent as often as I use to as standards have clearly dropped from excellent to sub-par. They hardly have a full house at 6.30am but struggle to bring coffee to your table which used to make this reference point of difference make them stand out. I guess the exhaustion levels are beginning to show by staff hence the customer service being so negligent of late. If you had a nice loyal customer such as me why endeavour to drive me away through force selling me some product I don’t need? Last time I checked Rush Worth wasn’t McDonalds! Plenty of other cafes in the area whom I’m sure will be glad to have my business in these economical times. They recently got a frequent visitors card but they call it the “black card” which can come across as quite derogatory and no doubt may have its fair share of implicit racism. A simple this is our frequent visitors card would be more than sufficient! It was nice to have met some of you & I wish you all the very best. Respectfully, Aneez.

My go to coffee place when working in town. They do great coffee. $5 for flat white or pay $40 for a prepaid card and get 2 free. Nice views of the water if you are eating in too

Quick and consistent service. Good coffee. The food was overpriced though and the menu, limited. The meals we ordered were too simple for my taste ie could be made at home at a cheaper cost.

Good for ice creams...staff friendly, parking limited...best get there by train as it's at the Viaduct. Bit pricey

Great views, nice staff. Have to order at the till which meant we had to get out of the way every time a meal or coffee went out, but that’s the only negative thing. Great toastie with generous amounts of cheese. Fresh avo on the smashed avo on toast not the terrible packet stuff. Salmon bagel was perfectly toasted and not skimpy with the cream cheese. Good coffee too!

I moved to Auckland from a small town a few years ago and quickly found a home at Rushworth. I worked here for just over a year (a few years ago now) and here are some things that have stuck with me: James is the owner. He would welcome me every morning with genuine interest in how life was going. He would work alongside us when it was busy and was never too important to take out the trash. James has a huge heart and it was emphasised in many situations. A young family came into the shop one day and were clearly tired, their young child was upset that there were no sausage rolls on the menu, James quietly passed me $10 from the till and asked me to run across the road and get one for the young boy and take it to their table. That is the kind of person he is. It is tough to describe Salama with words. I was in awe of her work ethic from the day that I met her. She was always the first there and last to leave. Salama is sunshine in human form and has an unmatched vibrancy regardless of how tired she must be. She also had a genuine interest in how I was doing. Salama was full of positive feedback and was always so uplifting. She had a constant curiosity about how to make things better. She remembered each of our birthdays and would bring a gift. It was such a pleasure to work alongside her. I think what stood out to me the most, is that I left abruptly and somewhat unexpectedly due to my own personal circumstances. A few months later my Mum passed away, without any contact, Rushworth graciously contributed to the givealittle page for her funeral experiences and I received messages from both James and Salama checking in with me. So, yeah, maybe other places in Auckland offer better food or better coffee, but I can guarantee to you that you will not find better, more genuine people with bigger hearts. That is what makes Rushworth so special and the experience unparalleled.

This place is nice, right on the water front but manages to maintain the community cafe vibe. Good coffee and the food looks tasty.

Sat outside on a glorious morning, watching the UK America's Cup crew prep their boat for a sail. We had coffees, scrambled eggs and salmon and the bircher muesli. There was a whole heap more muesli than the last time I visited, which was a good thing. The food arrived quickly and was very nice.

The excellent! People super-friendly and helpful. The not-so excellent! Coffee left a LOT to be desired. Many office-workers nearby, who might not care so much about good coffee so things tend to optimise for the crowd… Lovely location. Single-shot standard so that gives you a clue about priorities.
