These
guys
are
not
“watch
people”.
They
are,
as
a
couple
of
other
reviews
have
said,
glorified
pawnbrokers.
Since
I
am
leaving
a
bad
review,
it's
incumbent
upon
me
to
explain:
there
is
an
air
of
arrogance
about
the
staff.
If
you
go
alone,
and
are
faced
with
two
staff
members,
one
staff
member
will
speak
to
the
other
as
if
you
don’t
exist
and
misquote
the
price
of
your
watch
after
having
a
cursory
glance
online,
as
if
you
don’t
know
and
came
down
the
last
shower.
To
be
clear,
I
am
not
bitter
that
they
undervalued
my
watch.
Watch
reselling
is
a
tough
hustle,
and
I
get
that.
What
irked
me
was
their
insistence
on
not
moving
from
their
own
valuation
of
a
watch
that
is
clearly
not
worth
what
they
claim.
The
watch
I
am
referring
to
was
from
2015
and
not
rare
by
any
means
and
can
be
had
on
Chrono24
for
far
FAR
less,
even
when
shipping
and
duties
are
taken
into
account.
If
you
know
your
watches,
speak
to
a
certain
establishment
in
Wellington.
They
will
speak
to
you
like
you’re
a
real
person
who
understands
and
has
a
connection
to
the
watches
they
own.
They
won’t
cut
you
off
mid-sentence.
I
was
perfectly
willing
to
pull
the
trigger
on
a
watch
above
my
budget,
and
wanted
to
try
it
on,
only
to
be
told
it
would
be
“too
big
for
me”.
Ultimately
this
is
what
happens
when
you
have
very
few
options.
They
have
no
competition
in
Auckland.
What
they
forget
is
the
person
who
wears
a
$2k
watch
today
is
two
years
and
a
good
investment
away
from
a
Rolex.
But
hey,
maybe
there
are
enough
suckers
out
there
to
sustain
their
business
without
them
having
to
change
their
ways.
