This is where we met our little kittens at an adoption event at Animates Manukau in collaboration with 'Nine Lives' rescue and fell in love with them to bring them home. The event was well organised and paperwork very efficient. The volunteers and helpers were passionate about what they did and made the whole experience very pleasant and memorable.

I just love pet stores because most of them have “Live” animals that I always want to take home. This store today had a few very cute rabbits and cats. They also had the cheekiest turtle that would try to nip your finger though his glass enclosure. They also have a fabulous range of fish and aquariums with some very cute accessories. You can also book into use their DIY dog wash Bay and buy bulk pet litter.

Great service, good product range, definitely worth traveling to even if you're not in the area. I would, however, advise you to confirm if stock is still available before you head over. There is usually some discrepancy between what's shown online and what's actually available in store. But that didn't take away from the whole experience.

I live in Rotorua but was unable to purchase what I required in Rotorua due to the fact that they no longer made this particular type of cat furniture. I must say the manager at the Rotorua store was extremely helpful and put me onto animates in Manukau. They were extremely helpful they returned my phone call they helped me to purchase the cat furniture I was wanting I cannot recommend them highly enough if I lived in Manukau I would be going to animate in Manukau just for the service if nothing else. Having said that I live in Rotorua and I frequent animates here because of the service.

The staff here were exceptional. I had a situation where I had the wrong sort of carrier for my dog on air nz. And I rang these guys. They not only organised the right one but they helped me put it together and took my other one. If it wasn't for them I would have been in a pickle. They were calm and helpful (i on the other hand was having a heart attack!). Amazing service and their managers should give the guy who served me a bonus!

Not sure why this is attached to Animates Manuka, I had posted under Hamilton lake! I have been at this well known spot in Hamilton many times over my life, it is amazing to see how they keep providing the great experience, with something new each time, to add a little mystery to each visit. We enjoyed the fairly new water features which have interactive opportunities for the young and old to try. Loved our latest visit with my Grandchildren and had to finish with the obligatory ice cream as seen in the photos.

I normally shop online or recently one of my cats was diagnosed with kidney failure so at the vet but good to know they don't stock the renal food. Was trying to get a multitude of things from the supa centre while I was there. Staff are super friendly and the store is big and clean 😊

Cool staff here. Nice selection of pet products. Can be a bit pricey but the membership discounts can be awesome!

I have been to this location twice in the past month and in both experiences, I left with a weight lifted off my shoulders. The staff at the Manukau branch are amazing and well informed, with a special shout out to Ashton who helped me in both experiences.

wanted to buy quality Xmas presents for my pets so spent a few mins on 10 Dec browsing the store unsure what to buy. I did purchase items. Discounts on some products and a clean store. But the atmosphere wasn’t that welcoming

Came in wanting to buy something for my fish tank as was told by Facebook team to ask in store as it's not stock online. Had very cold service from what I did buy and wasn't asked for my name or number for loyalty programme I've been in for a decade. Felt like it would be a mission to get what I needed ordered in; they wouldn't tell me cost of it either so brought it from another aquarium store.

Excellent service with a smile and advice to our dog Max and his first time in a place like this. I would recommend the Manukau Animates store to anyone who love their pets

Krshiva needed some pet food, so, he and I popped in there for a bit, that after picking a few items of grocery from Countdown nearby. Great shop, and an extremely pleasure place to visit. I just cannot believe its size, as I have hardly ever thought of a pet shop being so big with all sorts of pet related stuff.

The staff offer to help but have no idea of the stock they have. When asking about sample bags of kitten food I was told they only have them when the supplier decides to give them trial bags or there is a promotion on. WHICH IS A COMPLETE LIE. Called the shop when home as we saw they have them in stock on line. Spoke to another staff member who is the reason I give 3 stars not just 1 (the 1st staff member deserves 0 stars) the staff member over the ph was very helpful and extremely apologetic for the other staff member. Maybe the mangers can teach common sense to the staff. Such as.... if you do not have an answer to the customer's query Ask another staff member with more experience and DO NOT LIE to customers.

Many stores can handle shipping an item when ordered but the real test of customer service is how they handle things when there is an error or problem. In this way Animates Manukau gets high marks. I ordered a replacement cot cover for my dog and was sent the wrong one (the winter version rather than the original). Customer service was quick and responsive to my email notifying them of the mistake. They sent me out a new cover immediately and even let me keep the winter one as a token of good will. They did a great job solving my problem and I wouldn't hesitate ordering from them again, knowing I'll be well taken care of.

I first heard of this Store due wanting to wash my dog. Payed my 10 dollars for 10 minutes and away we went. Was awesome so I went back the following week and Payed 99 dollars for the unlimited wash for a year. Great helpful staff even though the dog wash was out of order and took my boy to Botany Animates. Same great service there. Keep up the awesome work guys and girls.

Took my dog to have a bath on Sunday around 1.20pm, bought tokens and told it was being used but would be free in 10 minutes. My mob number was taken to be phoned when ready. I went walkabout round the carpark but after an hour I went home. Still waiting for the phone call - not happy with this service.

My usual Animates stores are Sylvia Park and Lunn Avenue and both of them have excellent customer service. Went to Animates Manukau today for water testing for my fish tank. The guy there asked me 6 questions and repeated one three times, why do you want to do the water testing. The tone of asking questions was rude and felt like an investigation. I bought the new tank and cycled it without fish for 8 weeks and then added Neon tetra 2 weeks ago after getting water testing done. I told him that one of my fish died. This guy at Manukau told me my amonia levels are high (minimum) so he won't let me buy more fish to add to the tank.Now I have ammonia kit at home and I basically wanted to know ph and nitrates leve at Animates. so I came home and checked my ammonia level and it is zero. What a waste of time . He was super rude, unhelpful.

Absolute delight. Found what I was looking for, quick and easy. Staff were super lovely, helpful and really knowledgeable. Will definitely be going back there for all my pet needs.

I had just adopted a 8week (Lhatese) Lhasa Apso x Maltese and was looking for guidance on what to feed at this early age. I visited the store yesterday and the lovely gentleman there walked me over to the options he recommended and gave me information on changing the food over time, as to not upset her tummy. Overall, just excellent customer service. Thank you for making me feel like a valued customer.

The staff here genuinely care about fur babies and are always very helpful. Especially last time I went to get a 20kg feed and one of the boys there carried a 20kg bag to the counter, and dropped it off to my car, which I really appreciated. Top notch service and a one stop shop for all my pet needs.
