It's a pretty small park that has a rowdy group of ducks there. At low tide there is an expansive beach that can be walked around. There are many shells here so you should wear shoes. The beach has a lot of mud and rocks. Some rocks have a special shape as a special symbol. There is a dairy store across from the park. Parking space for 4 cars. This place is suitable for couples to chatting and watching the sunset. Don't forget pay attention to your actions opposite the park is the house and the main road. If you like water sports it is also quite suitable during high tide.

What an adorable little beach. It's a sun trap and it really shines on a lovely day. Local, pleasant, near a playground and a wee shop. Probably not somewhere to stop and spend a day at, but a nice spot to launch a boat, eat an ice cream or fish n chips.

Quaint little beach, mainly flat mud /sand. Not good for fishing or diving. Can only boat launch at full tide. Has picnic tables and some grass area. Right next to main road, shop and takeaway.

Nothing good about it. Better off going huia. Or Cornwallis. Also this tree is about to fall and could hurt someone.

It's okay. Not much there but it is close to a takeaway shop and a dairy. I wouldn't recommend swimming here. The beach itself is quite small.

👍👍 This huge, wide, and beautiful black sand beach is famous because it has been the filming site for many movies and TV shows. It is most famous as the beach where a scene was filmed for the Oscar winning movie, The Piano, where the piano was left behind. It is popular and can get busy on weekends or...

👍👍 Lovelly place for a family picnic, a good walk or paddleboard when the tide is up. Easy access from West Auckland. Good facilities - bathroom, shower, water fountain and two carparks - but be aware the carparka can fill in quite kickly on a sunny day.

👍👍 It's a lovely little beach with a big grassy area for picnics and a playground for kids. When it's low tide, you can walk quite far, but it is a bit muddy in places, so do be careful. There are good, clean toilets

👍👍 Words, (nor the endless amounts of pictures and videos), can describe New Zealand's beauty that's seen everywhere. You have to see the nature with your own eyes, hear the endless calls from the multitude of birds that call these islands home with your own ears, and smell the fresh, crisp air with yo...
