Excellent service, excellent food. Food was delicious and ice chocolate was amazing. Loved how you pour the chocolate and milk into your glass. Definitely will be visiting again. Steady stream of customers.value for money. Atmosphere was cosy. Will have to tried sitting out the back as I heard several people ask about it. I have been here quite a few times. Food and service are always excellent 👍

*Updated 5/3/23: We thought we'd revisit Twisted Tomato after Cam left and new owners took over. Unfortunately it's a shadow of it's former self. Mediterranean Kofte was off the menu and my usual poached eggs and bacon on ciabatta was down a slice, and as for the "Salad Burger" with chicken, meagre. Cabinet food is also considerably smaller portions. Savouries by the till is very unhygienic considering the amount of people who stand over it while ordering and paying. The photos are a good comparison and speak for themselves. Not a good way to retain existing customers, and probably won't come back. *Updated 5/8/22: Great atmosphere and vibe. Coffee is very good and food is good, very good. Another one of my top 10 favourite cafés.

Stumbled upon this cafe one day and we’ve become regulars ever since. The food is amazing and their eggs Benedict is the best we’ve ever had. I’m a huge fan of big breakfasts and theirs is definitely satisfies my cravings. The portions are great and the staff are always friendly.

Got 2 baps - roast beef and standard BLT. The BLT was nice, happy with $8 for each Bap. Iced coffee was nice but on a hot day wish the peach smoothie was a bit more cold. Also offered deconstructed iced coffee/mocha - might need to try next time. Dog friendly. Service was good. Thanks for the lunch!

I have been here many times and I think this is one of the finest cafes in Auckland Food is always great, it always has a bit of flair. It is a very varied menu so there is a lot to choose from. Dog and child friendly. Out door seating Serves wine. The owners run the business and keep it working like a clock. You won't be disappointed.

Another great brunch at Twisted Tomato 🍅 The owner Cam, has an excellent team working for him, providing good food, good coffee, good service and a friendly, relaxed environment. I took my daughter and her boyfriend there today and as always it was super enjoyable! I has my usual eggs on toast, my daughter had eggs Benedict with halloumi and her boyfriend had, as he always does, the spicy chicken waffles. Go check it out sometime peeps 🔥

What a horrible experience. First time here.. ordered chicken salad what a joke, barely any chicken or actual salad. Icecream choc... what a rip off for $8.50, the glass was so small . It was like a milky milo drink. French toast.. portion size so small, 2 pieces of dried up bread..with no taste. Will NOT be going, back to this cafe again.

The food was lovely including a tasty vegan meal for me. My non-vegan companions were also well pleased. The staff were particularly kind and attentive. No wonder this place is busy!

Delicious food and great service and decently affordable. Better option then the breakfast club down the road if you’re looking for affordable delicious food and plenty of space

My Mum and I absolutely love Twisted Tomato. You can tell that the food is cooked with love, and the coffee is great too.

Enjoyed our meal here. Excellent selection of food. One concern is that the pricing on the board didn't match the physical menus and unfortunately we didn't grab the receipt to check.

One of my new favourite cafes for eating at outdoor (but covered) seating. I've enjoyed all my meals on the three occasions I have visited since discovering Twisted Tomatoes, as have my friends. The Calamari, Mr Benny and Creamy Mushrooms meals were all delicious.

We had eggs on toast and the pea and halloumi fritters. The food was divine! The highlight was the peach and coconut smoothie - that was 10/10!!!

Such a great little cafe! The food was delicious and well-priced with good portions -not too much or too little. The staff are lovely and make you feel welcome. We will be back.

This is such a friendly place to come and eat and enjoy being pampered. The food is lovely and the service is too. Always so respectful. Not all cafes are like that, especially when you have dogs. We used to eat closer to the beach but we had to be "waited to be seated" and had to eat outside and the same order was $2 dearer 🥺 It's lovely here and deserves the 5 stars for everything 😊

Really nice place to go with a group. We sat in the courtyard out the back which was really nice, we had immune compromised people in our group so we're always looking for good outdoor dining options. Kitchen was accommodating of our dietary requirements. I will say they could have more vegan options but what they did have was tasty. It took a bit of a while for our food to come out, but we did have a big group so it was probably just a big job to get it all ready :)

I'm pretty certain that this place has changed hands of ownership since the last time I visited. Came here for lunch today and was extremely disappointed by both the service and quality of food and drink. Upon entering, the cafe wasn't too busy but we were ignored and left to sit at the table unattended for about 10 mins before we gave up and headed to the counter to order directly. We had to step over (presumably) the owner's small child who was playing with sugar packets, serviettes, and cutlery on the cafe floor. I completely understand that it's the new year and people may not have child care available, but to have him playing in the middle of the cafe floor with utensils on the floor was pretty shocking as I'm sure those utensils will be offered to customers after. They brought my hot chocolate out first with my partner's food order, and he had to wait until we had both finished eating for his drink to arrive, which turned out to be the wrong drink. When they did bring the correct drink, my partner (who isn't a fussy eater at all) said it was terrible. I ordered my usual chicken salad and I was shocked at how the portion sizes had decreased and how it tasted and looked entirely different. There were two bite sized pieces of stale haloumi, huge chunks of chicken and no aioli or oranges on top. The water glasses were also dirty and stained. Overall, a very very disappointing visit as this used to be one of my favourite local cafes :(

So much wrong here for so much potential. First of all the food took forever. They didn't bring out the coffee and cake but left it sitting on the counter while they served others and waited for the other dish so the coffee was not hot and fresh. I had to retrieve it myself after a long long wait. The carrot cake was hard. Not moist. After another long time my filo came out when I was ready to chase it up. I had to go ask staff again for my juice. I had to ask twice to 2 staff. They both said yes then did other things. I had to get it myself. I asked for a t/a and got it on a plate and asked for bacon but got salmon! Useless! Waitress did not listen or put my order in right hence wasting the chefs and my time plus very expensive! Not good!no service 1 out of 5! I HAVE EDITED and edits not showing up. Service terrible .the eggs ben did not even have that trademark sauce and no muffin. It was simply bacon and eggs. . Not what I ordered. !

It should be named Rotten Tomato! The service and food deteriorated hugely since the new owners took over. Had a bad experience/shock once since then but decided to give them another chance today. Big mistake! Waited for over an hour for our breakfast which was eventually served just as we got up ready to walk out. It was 12.30pm by the time we got our food. My french toast was OK but still nothing like the food we got in the past. My partner's big breakfast was ridiculous, tiny bits and pieces of sausages couple of thin slices of bacon, a hashbrown and a sad looking piece of toast. A smoothie, milkshake and freshly squeezed juice were nice though and we got a free brownie with cream as an apology for the wait. Still not impressed as this place just became another average food joint with an overpriced menu and it used to be so so good! Will never come back, unfortunately.

Twisted Tomato is a chic cafe with a great drink selection. The Wild Creamy Mushrooms on toast, smashed avocado, coffees, and juice were delicious. The staff and ambience were amazing. 5 stars! 🌟

Twisted Tomato is an absolute gem of a cafe! Its chic and cozy atmosphere immediately sets the mood for a delightful dining experience. The menu boasts an impressive array of drinks and dishes, and we couldn't resist trying the Wild Creamy Mushrooms on toast and the delectable smashed avocado. The flavors were incredible! The staff members were friendly and attentive, adding to the overall warmth of the place. We left feeling fully satisfied, grateful for the amazing food, excellent service, and inviting ambience. A definite 5-star cafe! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Amazing food, great service, cute cafe at point Chev. Ordered the spicy chicken waffle. It’s got bite! Not for the faint of heart but not too spicy, either. Coffee was average, bit on the acidic side but could have been their choice of beans (I didn’t ask). Still good and would definitely pop in again! They have a large courtyard so if you want fresh air and if the tables out the front are already taken, go to the back.

What an absolute gem! I opted for the big breakfast (aka Mr. Big) and it ticked all the boxes. Perfect eggs, perfect bacon, timely service with a smile…these guys are going places. Thanks team, love your work! Hamish Dorrington Kakapo Business Sales

Visited this cafe for the first time today and really fell in love with everything. It reminds me of my grandma’s little wood house, very cozy. Staff is friendly and the food is delicious. We ordered the bacon & banana waffles and it just exceeded our expectations.

Excellent!!!! Cannot recommend this place enough. The staff were awesome, the seating is comfy with more outside seating that is Cody and private. The food was superb in portion size and taste. I will definitely make a point of returning when in Auckland again.

Came after my morning meditations and prayers Beautiful food Great service This time round I had yet another eggs Benny and coffee ‘Egg’squisite! Flavourful and not overbearing, spinach blanched but still crunchy, beetroot tasting runout was on point, small rostis under perfect runny free range eggs, salmon … I didn’t feel alone anymore :-) I can see myself coming back again I rocked up 7am and they were ready for anything! If you want an escape go to this cafe, and you will become an escapee in our busy city, 100m away it’s bumper to bumper traffic, but here at this time of the day, bliss. Well played

My mum recommended this place to me and my partner after coming here a few year's ago so we came and it still lives up to her hype. Absolutely phenomenal tasting food, amazing presentation, the deli cabinet and place in general looks amazing and cozy, staff are super friendly and accommodating, we had the sticky pork burger and the big breakfast, was so delicious, we definitely have a new favorite cafe, 10/10 would recommend to everyone!

We had heard great things about Twisted Tomato and boy did this cafe deliver. My vegan girlfriend was impressed with a dedicated vegan menu, she when for the open freedom sandwich and really enjoyed. I opted for the traditional eggs benne with bacon and was pleasantly surprised when it came out on a bed of potato croquettes. Great coffee and friendly staff, highly recommend to all. James Ashwin
