I have never been more disappointed in food especially from slate! 20 chicken wings for $51!!! Not only did the price jump up (which was not in any of their menus) the chicken is completely different no more marinade just dry tasteless fried chicken. The baffalo sauce on the crispy chicken was what made it what it was. I feel soo ripped off I could cry couldn’t even eat them. slate went from being my favourite place to buy chicken to sadly the worst. The people are nice most of the time but I’m sad to say I won’t be back

We had booking for 12.45pm and upon arrival found out we had to be out by 2pm for a private function. We asked for ''Fluffys'' for the little ones and she didn't have a clue what they were. She said she'd find out for us and ages later got some milk froth in a paper cup. We ordered meals and had to explain in depth what the order was. One of us ordered a beer and it took about 20mins for that to come. Finally at 1.40pm our meals came. My Chicken Bowl was coleslaw from a bag with baby lettuce, from a bag, and a few slices of chicken slices. My husband's Fish Burger was overcooked crumbed fish and lettuce, no tartar sauce, red onion, tomato that we usually find. I couldn't eat my food and hubby left half of his. Daughter had to speak to manager so we could stay a bit after 2pm. The waitress was so unhelpful and unfriendly, the food was mostly inedible and the decor was tired and broken. Save yourself and just don't go there, there are plenty of other choices in the area.

We have previously enjoyed many visits to Slate for casual games of pool, a few beers and snacks and on occasion a meal. Service was awesome, staff were friendly, atmosphere was great. On our latest visit which I will acknowledge looked a little busy I politely asked if there were any spare tables as I could see one that was ready, only to receive a very rude short sharp reply "you need to book online, we're busy" then casually walked away. Hope this is a one off because we really enjoy the venue.

Four of us dined there for lunch. Service was great from start to finish. There is a huge variety of drinks to choose from and the cocktail we had, was well made and nicely presented. We had the buffalo wings, prawn and feta pizza, soft shell tacos (best of the lot), fish and chips and calamari. The food came out quickly, was generous in portions and tasty. We over ordered and over ate. The added bonus was the pool table but be warned you have to pay to play and there is a time limit.

Love the little touches and the flavours. Usually order via uber eats but the delivery time doesn't do the food justice. Awesome in-house sauces compliment the dishes. Should have taken photos but I was too busy enjoying it.

Went tonight for the first time! Mondays are buy one meal and get the second for free, was definitely worth it our meal sizes were massive! My fish and chips was yummy with salad and chips sooo bloody good! My daughter had chicken burger the size of that was just impressive and she said it was so tasty. The beef burger was good real meat not the cardboard type stuff. Really good meals we be seeing you next Monday as well. Well done Northwest Slate so tasty.😋

Great environment, it's super chill with great oldies tunes. Came on a Sunday where children's menus become free. Not busy during lunch so it's great the children won't bother other customers. Spacious flooring with up to six pool tables to hire. Wide variety of food options and great cocktails.

Food was Delicious & Yummio ( Thank you Chef ) Ladies behind the counter Welcoming with Beautiful Smiles. Thank yous, it was our first time & defs wont be our last. We Loved it 100% Musiik was just what you want to eat, sing & play pool too 😊 AAAA++

I was not expecting much when I first visit the place. Thought it's just another pub restaurant. Yes the place doesn't look that upmarket and I would probably say the dining space requires a little touch up and R&M. However, it's a pub and bar restaurant so not an issue for me. Most importantly, the food is amazing good and tasty. Hearty and servings portion is very reasonable with the price. The service was attentive and welcoming. BTW, their pull pork loaded fries are amazing. The pull pork is full with flavour and tender.

Good range of comfort foods where you probably can’t go wrong with your choice. The size of the fish cracked me up (but I ain’t complaining!). All of it real yum. We didn’t try our hand at pool but it’s a nice interactive part of the place to have on offer. Something different and no complaints from me :)

The food was really good. We had the loaded fries and buttermilk chicken. For mains the beef burger which was just as good! Kennedy and Chase were so friendly, gave great recommendations on cocktails and great service. We will definitely be back.

There's a reason why this place was empty when we went. We had a first table booking and we know there are some conditions we've dined using first table many times. But this was the first time we weren't allowed take away containers. We didn't over order, one diner has had gastric surgery and literally can't eat a full meal and one item came late after the first item had mostly been eaten. Our waitress was lovely, just towing the line, but after speaking to the manager/owner, our experienced soured. What an absolute piece of work. Safe to say we won't be back. I've added a picture of the food they'd rather waste (not including the wings in the background).

We had a really welcoming & bubbly waiter Kennedy serve us & cater to us today! Food was delicious and cooked to perfection especially the Ribs! Flavoursome like nothing I've tasted before! Kid friendly too

Have been a repeat customer in the past but this was the last time we will be visiting sadly. Firstly we ordered 20 wings and fish & chips, a fish burger and a beef burger. We were then told they were out of wings completely and had been for a few weeks so we switched the wings out for a pizza. We were also told there was no fish left only enough for the burger. So we cancelled the fish and chips and went along with the burger. We were about to cancel the entire order but was told they had already started cooking. To food arrived and it was ok. Not for the price we paid though. Hardly any sauce like literally NONE had to ask for more which seamed like watered down tartare sauce. The burgers were dry too. It’s sad because we are normally quite happy here but this was really disappointing. And to walk out spending what we did without any compensation or apology for the missing items on the menu was quite annoying. I hope the best for the company in these tougher times.

Great place to take teenagers who like to play pool. Food was delicious. I had Buttermilk chicken salad bowl. Nice big serving, I couldn't eat it all.

Arrived just after 11pm on Saturday, group of 4 for a friend's birthday. Quite a few people in there but told the bar is closed, and it was all cleaned down. Asked about the hours saying 12am and that's why we drove all the way there. Was rudely told "that's what Google says, and we want to go home" Wow we were shocked. Poor owner having staff with that attitude. Unfortunately not the first time we have had this experience. But food is good and it's a fun place. So I change my rating for now.

Very friendly staff and has high quality pool tables while you wait for your food which I really enjoyed the wings with the sauces, best to come with more people to try more food

Beautiful and Service, we 3 went as First Table Customer, WHAT A BARGAIN, I ordered the Calamari Bowl and my 2 friends order Ribs and Buffalo Chicken Wings for Mains, we all had Waffle, Berry compote and Ice Cream for Dessert (my lunch was 50% of $32) Was saved plenty of Calamari in my bowl amazing

Looked great and with many good reviews but my experience was anything but good... the 1st point of contact was distant and grumpy looking and was scared to ask for help... when asked about the steak and what sauce comes with the steak answer...we don't do sauce 🤷‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🙈 no sauce on steak like really....??? Never ever have I brought a steak with no sauce... anyway I ordered a medium steak 2 cheese pizza (which when came out had ants on the serving dish) kids burger thing and vege burger and chicken wings.... the place was empty only a few people playing pool ...but the wait time before the kids food came out was close to an hour!!!! Kids got theirs then another 10 Mims later ours came out . ( no exaggeration) Kudos for the chicken wings 👏🏻 and the fries and aioli sauce was nice.... but the steak was dry over cooked to a well done and wasn't sirloin steak tasted like blade steak.... on top of this with no sauce it was unedible ... I complained and was asked if I wanted another one but by then we were just about done eating so asked if they could at least make a sauce to help eat the dry over cooked steak... I couldn't eat it with the yuck red wine sauce thrown together it actually made it worse.... she then offered a discount for the steak of 3 fricken dollars...what a joke 🤦🏼‍♂️👎 the 2 kids that had pizza have now woken up with diarrhea so fabulous .... not!!! Definately won't be back

Popped in today for lunch with a client and a few games of pool. First the lunch was good, very healthy options, i ordered the Buttermilk Chicken Bowl. The chicken was cooked perfect. Great pool tables, not cheap budget ones like at most bars. All Rasson brand, nice and level and well maintained, no need to hit hard to stop the ball from rolling off-line. Will definitely visit again
