🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Hands down the best cafe experience in New Zealand 🇳🇿 The amazing chef goes above and beyond, engages personally with the customers & curates unforgettable & memorable ‘food, cake, pastry & coffee’ experiences for his customers. One of our fave Cafes in Auckland! And of course the best cinnamon buns and scones in town. Highly recommend this place!

Best cheese scone I ever had! Best part was that it was fresh out the oven!! The cinnamon buns were also fresh out the oven and super delicious! Everything I ordered was super yum! Will definitely go back! Coffee was top notch too as well as the service! Thanks for the amazing food and service 😊

Hill House Café (set inside the Nathan Homestead) is quite lovely 😍 It's not very big, but gives a cosy feel. The cutlery and crockery is so ornate, it makes you feel spoiled. The menu is sufficient, but their ready made cabinet food look (and taste) amazing! 🍰🥞🥮 It's nicely decorated, and makes you want to visit and stay for a while. There are benches right outside, for those wanting to enjoy nature with their cuppa ☕😋 The gentleman behind the counter was super friendly and attentive

This has got to be the best cafe in South Auckland. The staff are super friendly, courteous, and polite, and the coffee is undoubtedly the best around. Cannot recommend highly enough AAA+++

Great food, well presented and portioned, menu is so good, hard to choose what to eat! Had the DIY brekkie & cinnamon bun frenchie, all meals were delicious. Have had their cinnamon buns + almond croissants a few times now and they are the best I’ve come across. A HUGE thank you to Mike & his team who made our second visit one to remember and for making my sons birthday breakfast special. Appreciate it, will definitely be back to try more items on the menu. :-)

Are you bored of the same boring cabinet food everywhere? Usually tastes stale and won't surprise? Dry brioches? Well, not the case in Hill House cafe. Every piece in their cabinet is different and you can feel the love! I didnt know what to pick, I wanted it all. Had to try the famous cinnamon roll and it was the best. Super soft and moist (hate me word the word), perfect level of sweet! The staff was amazing and welcoming. Coffee is really well made and the whole place has just so much character. Love it here! This isnt just your "another kiwi cafe"

From first contact, to arriving, having our meal, and leaving - I was impressed by the friendly and excellent service of the staff at Hill House. There is a lovely ambience about this cafe with its delightful decor and intimate seating indoors, as well as tables out on the verandah. The food was well presented and delicious, generously portioned and a fair price. I will be back. Highly recommend.

Can you give more than five stars? Our experience was amazing. We had visitors from Australia who are over familiar and spoilt with cafes over there. But the hill house cafe took them by surprise. The use of scones in their dishes that would usually have the usual bread was a breath of fresh air for all of us. Each dish had a lot of effort into it instead of the usual "slap on" the ingredients on a plate. Very hearty each bite and we literally had no left overs, except for the takeaway Cinnabuns we had which we savoured for the rest of the day. The owners should be very proud of their establishment. The workers served the customers well regardless of the volume, there was enough staff to cater to everyone with great quality. We will definitely be back!

This little gem is tucked away behind Nathan Homestead on Hill Road in Manurewa. They claim their cinnamon buns are world famous in New Zealand, and they are not wrong. Best I've ever had. The almond croissants are also delish. A friend of mine had their pesto and parmesan pastry it looked incredible, I'll be back for that. Be warned they may be a wait on the weekend, but it is every bit worth it. 😉

I think i found my new favourite cafe! For a start I love that such a beautiful and heritage building has been transformed into something that is accessible to the public. Second, the moment we walked in (10am on Saturday) it was PACKED but the staff were super attentative and sat us down immediately. The waiters were also really smiley and friendly. Lastly, holy heck the food here is top-notch! They have the most impressive cabinet food - of course not to mention the must try cinnamon roll. 10/10 must try and return!

Saw the great reviews of this place and tried with a friend this morning. The staff were so friendly, the coffee was fantastic and it was so hard to decide what to eat because everything on the menu looked so well-crafted. Both my friend and I noticed that the sourdough was perfect in our different meals, since some cafés can over-toast it, but both our meals were 10/10. I ordered a pack of cinnamon buns to take home and upon hearing about my nut allergy, they sorted me a fresh batch without the nut mixture on top. Will definitely be back!

Friendly service! Very yummy food and good coffee. The eggs benny on a cheese scone is a delightful surprize, and of course the eggs were perfectly pouched. We came for the cinnamon buns, and indeed it was superb. I can't resist to take the box of 6! Despite the toilet need some TLC, I still gonna come back for the other cabinet treats.

This is my local and my absolutely favourite cafe. The food is tasty and always a winner whether it’s from the cabinet or kitchen. This is the place I recommend to work colleagues and friends and family. The staff are lovely, know everyone’s names and remember orders and are so kind and friendly. The jewel in Nathan Homesteads crown and the best coffee, cheese scone’s, brekky and cinnabuns

A cute little homestead style cafe, they were super busy when we came in but the staff were still so friendly and welcoming. We needed a table for 4 and had a pram with us and a waitress named Sam went above and beyond for us. She ensured we had a table that could accommodate the capsule and put the pram away somewhere safe. She went above and beyond for our group and did it all with a smile. She knew what we needed intuitively. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was still nice despite how busy it was.

This Cafe was too good. Staff were friendly, and the food was really nice even though it was a busy Saterday lunch. Unfortunately they had ran out of some ingredients due to the demand, however the staff were really accommodating and gave compensation for ingredients, plus one free coffee and dessert. They were almost too nice and I wouldn't expect most cafes to go so far out of their way to make up for us. We definitly would be returning thanks. 😊

I've tried MANY places in Auckland and I have to say this is THE best breakfast/brunch place not only in Auckland but New Zealand. Every baked treat my family and I tried was sooo delicious and the menu food has so much flavour. Staff is always very friendly and loving. It really is a blessing that we have a cafe like this in South Auckland - city centre cafes can hide themselves. haha And those cinnamon rolls OMG don't even get me started on those... 6 out of 5!!!

Back again yesterday for a Cinnabun 😋👌🏻 the best. While they had a sign up saying short staffed, I would never have thought so, the way they work as a team is amazing, always polite, friendly etc. I had the best tea, made with tea leaves, a cool teapot that pours without spilling 😊 next time I head back it’ll be to have brunch. A great place, especially after a walk through The Gardens which are up the road further.

They make the best almond croissants in Auckland, hands down. Their pastries are just top notch, the pesto scroll is also 10/10. Haven’t dined in so can only speak for the cabinet food.

Today I had a minor issue with an order and the way Mike from Hillhouse Cafe handled it was exceptional. He was understanding, apologetic, and went above and beyond to make things right. It's refreshing to see a business that values its customers to this extent. I highly recommend this cafe not just for their fantastic food but also for the outstanding service that sets them apart.
