Just started going here as it’s close to my new home and both times I have had to wait over 40 minutes for a booked appointment. Definitely do not recommend. Was booked in and paid for a vaccine that I already had immunity and been vaccinated for which in the end I refused to get (with no refund) as it made no sense and they could not tell me why I needed it when my bloods said I had immunity. No social distancing with a lot of people just everywhere and no cleaning practices observed or wiping down of surfaces between patients. Very chaotic environment and most unprofessional medical practice I have ever been to.

I've not been to this clinic for a couple of years as I've changed my GP. I think my review needs to be on here about this place as I used to pay a few visits. The price for this GP is cheap in comparison with other GPs in Auckland. If I were you, take your money elsewhere for better quality customer service and value. That is my biggest regret. I only went to this doctor as it was the nearest one to my house and was new to the country at the time. Whenever I went to this clinic, I would have to wait for at least an hour to see the doctor despite having a booked appointment. Additionally, the receptionists were always rude to me and extremely dismissive. I've never met anyone that is as rude as them. Not sure if they are the same ones now but other reviews seem to match my description. The female doctor, nurse and pharmacist were very accommodating and friendly to me.

I had a disappointing experience with one of their reception staff. The staff member seemed dismissive and unfriendly when I checked in, and I left feeling undervalued. While I understand that reception staff have a tough job, basic politeness and customer service skills are crucial when dealing with patients. I hope that you can work towards improving the attitude and communication skills of your staff to make patients feel welcomed and valued." Not recommended at all

If you are using this place for immigration purposes, STAY AWAY FROM IT. They clearly don't know what they are doing. They don't know how the eMedical system works. I did an x-Ray for immigration, and they created a completely new record with the wrong passport number. All they did to correct their failure was to email immigration. After 2 weeks, several calls and visits my status on the immigration website was still showing as "waiting for medical...". The Indian lady from the reception said it is normal and it happens all the time (with them I guess). Anyway... I decided the $180 I had already spent wasnt worth ruining my visa application so I went to another place (Tend) and they were wonderful. $50 cheaper, beautiful place and they perform the X-Ray there. After the second x-ray my immigration status updated to "processing" the same day.

Consistent poor service. Multiple times where booked (phone and in person) appointments have run more than 1 hour late. Appointments are a maximum of 10 minutes, how can you diagnose/support someone in that amount of time? Calling in to confirm the Dr is available to then arrive and be told they are not and be turned away. Unfortunately not worth the low fee.

St. Luke’s medical centre needs to step up in their admin processing. I was unsuccessful at booking an appointment through their website which made me call them for one. I requested at 3.30 pm and visited there on time. However, the receptionists just carry on with their tasks without any consideration for the patients. After about 10 minutes , they gave us two RAT tests. We wanted to consult Dr. Ahmed. By the time the RAT tests results came and they approached us , it was 4.10 pm already. The staff does not mention anything about RAT over the phone when we request the appointment. We had to reschedule our plans post the consultation because the waiting time was long due their unorganised processing. After moving from one place to another and feeling like an eternity , the nurse consulted us. We were asked to stay in the waiting area for the doctor. In another 10 minutes, the doctor tries to reach us over the phone and we missed the call. He comes to the waiting area and did a 2-3 minutes chat at the entrance . We had to visit them because of pro longed sore throat, chills and puffy eyes like symptoms. However, a patient would go to a doctor due to a personal and quite private reason . Even if that wasn’t the case, every patient deserves privacy and proper consultation. This doctor was more unprofessional than the admin staff. He diagnosed it’s the viral with zero consultation and asked us to stay in the waiting area for the prescribed medicine. After another 20 minutes, and one follow up, the pharmacist walks out with Vitamin C and eye drops. Please think many times if you want to get your consultation here. You will have to waste your time and spend your money on something that does not give the value the patients are wanting. **Update- we consulted another GP and was diagnosed as a bacterial infection. Medicine was prescribed accordingly. Changed the enrolment to a new GP from St. Luke’s medical centre with immediate effect! ** Update 2- st. Luke’s medical centre contacted me on 09/1/23 related to the review I had posted. While they try to give 101 excuses for their mistakes, they also have offered free consultation for my next appointment if I rejoin them. I am firm with my decision and I have found a better medical practitioner who take their patients serious and give the time they need in diagnosing a diseases and not put everything in the “ virus bandwagon” or Covid-19. I really doubt your statement on Dr. Ahmed’s plan for the problem. He diagnosed it as a virus but it was an infection. I am no doctor but it’s quite simple logic. Viruses are not treated with antibiotics and what my husband had was an infection. I am also not in a position to comment on his experience but my experience with his consultation possibly sums it up all.

Dr Ahmed Bashir is by far the worst doctor that I have had the displeasure of being under his care. He barely takes the time to examine me properly, but instead rushes through the consultation. He even had the audacity to say “I’m very busy right now” when I was detailing my health concerns. I was extremely disappointed and felt as though I was not receiving the proper treatment that I am paying for. I am changing my doctors and I would advise others to stay away from this practice.

We were told to go here to get my kids tested as part of the AvCol COVID close contacts group. Waited almost 3hrs but that was expected. The perused the website for this practice and found the online form to complete for COVID testing, so we completed that while waiting. When we eventually got the tests done, the young lady that administered it was very lovely, and although she must've been exhausted as she was the only one running around from car to car, she was very friendly and upbeat. I hope people appreciate the pressure these healthcare providers in small practices are working under - not just the hospitals. Thank you St Lukes Medical Centre for your fantastic service and attitude, and playing your part in our team of 5 million :)

We've been here 3 times now, and not once have we been treated with respect and kindness. Today we were extremely disappointed by the service - we are on a tight budget so called in advance to check pricing and were told $26. When we arrived, we were charged $40 - almost double, with no explanation given!! The doctor has also treated us poorly - he tried to insist on acupuncture. He also push his own beliefs on us, despite being very clear on not wanting that. He did not listen to me and did not conduct a proper examination. A total of 4 covid swabs have been taken, none of them properly (not far enough or for long enough) Overall I would not recommend this place at all - poor communication at all levels, as well as poor service and treatment.

Website states that it finishes 05:30, unable to find appointment with the nurse after 5pm, just for an B12 injection. Receptionist lady wasn’t polite at all. Also given me Hepatitis B and charged 80 dollars since its not a government funded and later found out that It was given to me before. Overall experience was bad.

Worse than bad. I needed a blood test, they charged me 160 dollars being enable to public funds because they didn't even check it. It was specially written "any GP doctor could do it" and "eligible" but they are always into rush and the first thing they did was charging me the visit without checking anything and I didn't even meet the doctor!. They saw me as a foreigner and charged me as " Immigration visit" which was not needed,I just needed a GP as was written on my document as I did later in 4Kauri, they charged me 25 dollars for the same and, 10 dollars for the doctor's visit after the test because I am eligible and of course, a blood test it is included in public founds,it is one of the first things the doctors do when they have new patients... In St Luke's, one young lady at the reception was very rude and they charged me for a doctor's visit but I only visited the nurse... 160 NZD ... Terrible...And if I wanted to see the doctor was 120 NZD! Crazy! If I never met the doctor! Never again, even though they are very closed. Go to 4kauri Medical Centre. Great attention to patients, you visit the doctor not the nurse, and you are treated as a human not as a sheep. It doesn't matter if you are foreigner or local. Anyway, that was my experience.

Dr Bashir is the best doctor I have ever seen in New Zealand...He treats me like his daughter and I am really very happy with St lukes medical center services. Dr Bashir is very professional in his work, he loved his work..He genuinely cares for his patients and really wanted to thank him for everything. I didn't remember the name of the receptionist but they are so cute and friendly...They provide all the instructions explain all the steps very well Again didn't remember the name of the pharmacist but she was so helpful and kind to the patients. This is so irresponsible of them as a healthcare providers… my husband is covid positive and he went to their clinic as he was sick. After the test they sent him text message that his test has come negative. I was still not sure about their message so I did another test for my husband straightaway as soon as he came home and we found him positive. We have an 11months old in our house. This is terrible. How come you people are sending wrong report to covid positive patient?

Took immigration test on Mid February. Health results submitted after one and half month. Usually it takes a week! _________________________________ April 23, 2022 reply to owner Thanks for your reply. Changed review from 1 star to 2 star. My friends in another medical center got Health results submitted in a week. Mine one, I believe, was forgotten to submit in one and half month until immigration officer request it.

Possibly the single worst medical center in all of New Zealand. My partner was a long term client of this center, and during her time enrolled she had the pleasure of: - waiting 3+ hours for an appointment, while watching walk in clients go straight to the doctor, multiple times - Bashir Ahmed has coined the fabulous phrase "this is not a supermarket, one problem, one booking!" - if you ask him for a doctors note, you'll probably get it without him checking for symptoms - in case you didnt assume already, the receptionists are super *nice * and *friendly*. - my partner had an overseas reccomendation to see a specialist and needed a referral. This was met with "no, we will measure it here via blood tests only", despite having MRI and detailed diagnostic evidence Long story short: if you're not already on their good list, and you have a genuine medical issue, find a hobo in a park somewhere for better medical advice

Service provision is great in this centre. The new reception staff is great and has brought about a new calm environment, the practice manager (the one who is always there) is always amazing. The doctors go an extra mile and the nurses are great. Well done.

If i have the option to give 0 star i will give that. Do not come here. Everyone is so greedy and rude here. Always try to remind patients about 15 minutes. The doctor just waste 15 minutes talking about his own problems with computers...about the country...and for funded patients he is reminding them that he is treating them for free as if he is not being paid by the government. Saying 1 problem 1 appointment....this is like if i have fever and cough. He will treat fever first cough in next appointment.

Male doctor is rude, I wouldn't go back and wouldn't definitely not recommend this place. Receptionists are friendly, and the female doctor is awesome. If I had to go there I would see her she is really friendly and nice. Will for certain move to another doctor.

Where do i start? I’ve been seeing Dr Bashir since 2020 when I moved to Auckland, he’s been an amazing Doctor and always finds time to help while giving the best advice from his many years of experience. The whole staff, from the ladies at the reception to the lovely nurse are always very professional and timely when assisting patients (from a firsthand perspective.) A big thankyou again to the team for helping me and hopefully, in the best way possible, I won’t see you too soon. - Harry Brown

rude nurse and the slowest service ever! expect to spend at least 1.5 hour in the waiting room. Also I have had constant judgements from doctor Ahmed for something as normal as getting a regular check up, and that feels very unprofessional, so come with your toughest skin and your best book

I have been a patient attending the St Luke’s Medical Centre for 8 years. During this time Dr Bashir and his nurses and administrators have been so helpful and professional. We are indeed lucky to have such dedicated medical doctors to care for us. I know at times they are under immense pressure, however I believe they do a great job. Perhaps as patients we could show a little kindness. I thoroughly recommend Dr Bashir and St Luke’s Medical Centre to everyone.

The receptionists are a kind and nice. Quite surprised looking at the biased reviews. People can be sometime very mean to healthcare workers. There charges are reasonable if you think ad actually compare. I use to pay 80 bucks for old GP now it’s super cheap here! Thanks Dr Bashir and the team

  • 1/5 Hamza H. 6 months ago on Google
It is the worst place ever. I took my mother there. The doctor registered her under his care without asking the patient. They called me to go and take the list of medications and told me to pay $120 to take her without an examination without anything. I do not recommend going to him and he always says that I am the only Muslim doctor in Auckland. I do not care what I want you to do your job well

I can easily say that St Lukes Medical Centre is by far the worst GP I have ever had in my life with Mr Bashir the ultimate example of it. I Initially enrolled with this GP because of immigration and because they claim to be "specialist on mole mapping" and here is my experience.... 1. One appointment, one question. If you ask more than that he will double charge you! Never seen anything like that before... 2. Mole mapping is the ultimate scam! Bashir doesn't even look at your moles and will spend half of the time telling you stories of how good he is etc etc. I initially did one full body map and he suggested me to remove 6 moles (400$ each). Because I have been doing this since I was a child, I knew he was trying to push it and I went to see another specialist who, surprise surprise, didn't notice anything wrong. In addition, Mr Bashir will not provide you a report and he will refuse to accept a report from other dermatologists. In fact, when I came back one year later to have one mole removed, he claimed that he couldn't do it without him doing the full body mole map....he wanted over 200$ for the mole map + 400$ to remove the mole...I went to another GP who did everything for less than 50$ 3. Mr Bashir was extremely arrogant with me. When I told him that I couldn't afford to pay what he wanted me to pay he started telling me that he didn't have time for me, that I cannot expect the healthcare to be free and he even dared to tell me to go back to my country to access free healthcare (he also insulted me and my country claiming that is place full of poor people begging in the street, full of corruption and debts.....FYI it's an European country). Maybe Mr Bashir hasn't realised that we are paying him so he should radically change his attitude towards patients. 4. Immigration is fast but they don't actually do anything. In other places it is cheaper...do a bit of research! To conclude, St Lukes Medical Centre is cheap but you get what you pay for....also it is very cheeky because they charge you for a referral so at the end of the day I am not even convinced it is economically convenient. I have read some of the reviews and I am actually surprised how some people liked their service, I personally would not recommend it at all. Go somewhere else, it may be slightly more expensive but you will have a proper doctor looking after you....bye bye St Lukes Medical Centre!

Awesome service, they are very busy and due to the costs are so cheap I guess that’s why busy. Fair enough, the girls at the front doing so much at a time. They gave us appointment last moment, very surprised as no other medical was available. Heard about dr Bashir, he is Really cool doctor. Best of luck team. Cheap pricing Good reception service Very goo doctor Well done team!

I have been a patient of this clinic since the late 90's. It's a very good place for you and your family's health . The doctors are friendly and very accommodating. If you are new to NZ, it's also a good place for NZIM medical reports :))

I have never met such a greedy doctors in my entire life, and never had such a worst experience. I used to see Doctor Bashir, when you try to tell him your symptoms/issues/problems, he always cuts me off and says that he can only treat one problem in one consult, without even listening to the entire problem(which can be co-related).he thinks more about money than his patients health. Once I had to book another appointment on the same day and pay $50 for double consult which wasn’t even a second issue. Then I Decided to change the doctor and go to Deepa rao. I have a flue, fever and cough, she seemed so confused and wasn’t even sure what she wanted to prescribe me. She was more focused on the medicine that are funded or not , rather than the need. As I have a cough, she didn’t prescribe me a cough syrup because that’s not funded(she was very polite though). The biggest shock was when the receptionist asked me extra $10 for the medical certificate which I never had to pay in the past. I was in shock, I still am to be very honest ,, I literally had to leave the certificate there in anger, Now I have nothing to give it to my manager even though I am quite sick. It’s not about $10, it’s more about how they are ripping people off. Not to mention if you book a phone consult, they charge you extra $5 for admin fees(which I don’t understand)The only good experience that I had was with nurse and receptionist Tanzi when she helped me last year with covid text for my travel which I really appreciate. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO REGISTER WITH THEM. PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY.

Utterly incapable receptionist and administrative personell. This clinic is cheap, but you pay for it with headaches and miscommunications. I do not recommend enrolling with them. It's also "1 issue 1 appointment" so it's hard to discuss complicated health issues and feels impersonal, though I understand many other clinics do this also. That said, the doctor was capable and kindly.

  • 5/5 Danyal D. 6 months ago on Google
Dr Bashir is the best Doctor in NZ. Very understanding, capable and helpful, he always goes out of his way to accommodate my Family’s needs. He truly has a heart of gold, I would recommend him to anyone who would like an intelligent Doctor that listens to his patients and always gets the best results.

I have been attending St Lukes Medical practice for a number of years and have always found the reception staff although extremely busy at times to be professional efficent and helpful. Having a background in health and disability I have interacted with many health professionals and I am extremely impressed and happy with the services I have received from this medical practice Dr Bashir is a compassionate and extremely dedicated Dr who is extremely proactive in following up on any health concerns I or my partner present with he takes time to listen and discusses proposed treatments fully with us and does not hesitate in refering us for specialist treatment if necessary. His early mole mapping detection has been invaluable for detection of melanoma for my partner and his reconstruction surgery exceptional This is a excellent medical centre from reception staff to practice nurse and having a onsite excellent pharmacy on site is wonderful .Thankyou Dr Bashir and the team for the wonderful care we have received, i would highly recommend this practice.

Hi ! been six months being with them. Doctors are really great here. But to be honest admin staff is really unprofessional in my experience called like couple of times all the times she make one excuse we are busy and this time was around 12:10 I calle them back at 12:45 told them she was like ohh we are busy sorry sorry . She wasn’t listening me and later on sorry I can’t hear you network issue. That’s completely unacceptable in terms of customer service I would say all the bad rating I could see here is cause of reception. Like in health care I agree there is fees to pay but in the first she didnt tell my partner to pay anything $19.50 in advance. Later on she madd excused we didn’t pay for consultation. In health care you couldn’t say to patient you can’t see them cause they haven’t paid yet . Please don’t make an joke for health care services. There are so many who are facing a lot.
