I’ve been with this doctors for over 9 years now & I haven’t been to see them for a while because you have to wait 3-4 hours every time! And if you want to get a hold of them via phone good luck. You will wait almost an hour & they pick up say hello then hang up on you, the same thing will happen 3 days in a row anytime of the day that you call. I’ve drove from my house still on hold for somebody to pick up, Knocked on the door & told the receptionist to pick up the phone because they were chatting up a storm. She answered with attitude. I can see why all the old nurses left, they were great & so are most of the doctors but the management are doing something wrong. Sometimes you only have 2 doctors on shift with the waiting room full. People in their cars waiting or kids coughing in the waiting room. Appointments getting canceled or you arrive 10min early for your appointment & still wait another 30 mins to see your doctor. STAY AWAY FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR… Edit…3 months later since first review @9:10am today I put my name down with 1 walk in doctor on & 4-5 docs for appointments! @ around 10:30am 1 more walk doc was on the board! It’s now 2:57pm still waiting for a doctor to see me! That’s 6 hours of waiting! Management need to sort out this issue asap! I understand there is a lot of factors in the situation but something needs to be done! New nurses & receptionist are great this time!

First time here. The nurses and doctors could do a better job of calling out names. I walked in and a nurse called out a name once then proceeded to call out for someone else. Please have a little patience, especially for our elderly & Foreign citizens. We're all waiting 4+ hours, a Lip compassion and patience really goes a long way. Cheers

Absolutely useless, cancelled my booking without informing me. Managed to see a nurse who then told me I have to come back in 4 days when a doctor will be free. 0 stars if I could.

My wife and I are both GPs and made an appointment at The Doctors Middlemore for immigration examinations. In our own practise we understand first-hand the stresses that COVID-19 has had on clinics, but the lack of communication at this clinic is really unacceptable. We have called numerous times, with wait-times greater than 45 minutes, just to have the call disconnected. One time I was able to get a hold of someone, but again the call was disconnected and the clinic made no effort to call me back even though we were in the middle of a conversation and they had my contact information. I ended up having to drive 20 minutes to the clinic just to communicate with them in person. For our examinations we first had to come in for blood tests and x-ray. This process took nearly 2 hours, when it really should have taken less than 30 minutes. The nurse was very unprofessional during my wife's blood draw. She mentioned that she was afraid that part of the needle was still in her arm, but didn't explain herself at all. Our visit with Dr. Winiata in person was pleasant. We were both told that our lab and imaging was all normal, but when we requested our x-ray and lab results after the visit we discovered that there was a significant finding that was not at all disclosed to us; a finding that I would have ordered subsequent imaging for on any patient of my own. These findings also delayed our visas being processed promptly. As patients we will be establishing care elsewhere.

It’s really not normal to not be able to get through to your GP. Getting through has been harder than calling the IRD and my bank. I really like my GP so I haven’t moved. I’ve left messages and no reply. It’s so weird. I’m not even mad, just confused.

Absolute disaster. Very poor admin staff . So many times they are so rude and absolute disgrace and no empathy. Not enough doctors . Appointments are 2 to 3 weeks . 2 times it cancelled by the system automatically .

I came here for the first time on Friday, as an urgent care patient after being in a minor car accident. I was expecting an extremely long wait but was pleasantly surprised it only took around 1.5 hours. The nurse, doctor, and receptionists were all very kind and I felt comfortable. Particular credit goes to the lovely receptionists who were being abused by an unpleasant patient, but they remained calm. The cost was only $15 which seemed very reasonable. Handy to have a pharmacy on site. The clinic and surrounds did seem a bit rundown but the medical care was good and that's the most important thing.

Having been enrolled here for around 25 years, these past two years have been the absolute worst. This facility has struggled to manage appropriately during this pandemic, compared to other “the doctors” branches. Having been a front line worker, working in MIQ, I was often treated like a walking virus from the very start. “Do not enter the facility” “call us from your car”. Unsure why, because coming up to 3 years in this pandemic, I have not contracted covid yet. But the funny thing is, it’s recommended to call from your car, but you’ll be sitting waiting for 2 hours, with no answer until you eventually give up. When looking in from outside of the building, you see the reception staff sitting, laughing & chatting. So what is the reason behind not answering phones? One day I was sick (non covid symptoms), no answer to my call, so I went and stood outside for 2 hours, whilst still waiting for someone to pick up, there was also a crowd waiting outside. There was a staff member who came out after every 30 mins to get details of one person only, then would go back in. As a sick person standing in the sun, I had to leave because I realised it was going to be 2 weeks before I was seen. I was sicker leaving than before I got there. I made one phone call to the doctors East Tamaki, they answered I. 2 seconds and told me to come in and I’ll be seen INSIDE right away. I paid a hefty fee, as I wasn’t enrolled there, despite the fact that same doctor that works at both branches had examined me. Now, I believe my horrible experiences come down to incompetent management. The person in charge has no idea how to run the business clearly, in comparison to other branches that have excelled in expectations on how it should be run during a pandemic.

Have called from outside the surgery just to watch multiple receptionists ignore the call… can never seem to get a hold of anyone and if you do you sit on hold for at least 45 minutes. Regretful move from last doctors surgery. Will be looking elsewhere. surgery is also outdated and filthy. Screws poking out of walls. Filthy walls in the treatment bays where the nurses are. Very grimy for a healthcare providers.

2 stars is just been generous tbh. I waited for over 2 hours to answer their phones as I wanted to confirm a booked appointment. I've rung in the past and gotten hung up on multiple times. After the new management has taken over their services have gone down the drains.

Service was great from the nurses at the back Filipino lady I didn’t get her name but she had great service & apologised several times for the wait.

If you have an acute problem like a cold or something, yeah it's okay. If you have a chronic illness to manage, def go somewhere else. They never investigate symptoms, don't do hands on exams, and just base whatever prescription on the chat they have with you. There have been times recently where I had an injury and they didn't even look at it with their eyes or try to palpate it or anything. They just gave me norflex and told me to rest. So I went to a chiro instead and the chiro got an xray and applied for ACC for me and I'm getting better. Like seriously, google and webmd is more helpful than these guys. I've also had instances where they just simply don't listen to me. They promise call backs but I never get them. It's so bad, really. I've seen nearly every doctor in that place, too. Just trying to find someone who will listen to my symptoms and help me manage my chronic illness for now. But this place ain't it.

I've had a few bad experiences in the past earlier this year, but can say that recently in my 3 recent experiences things are improving with new management team in. I've had some urgent things that needed represcribing and the team have been very responsive to my needs getting the GP to fulfill my request be e Prescription. Reality is, it's tough going overall with alot of demand in needing medical attention but not enough staff. Hang in the team, I think you're all doing a great job!

Seriously go somewhere else! Got cancelled on Friday and rebooked for face to face for sore arm today. Turned up for appointment with Dr Tamah and followed instructions by telling the reception and told to wait. After 30mins of waiting followed up with reception who passed me to nurse who informed me that my booking was marked as "Non Attendance" by Dr Tamah who is now completely booked out and cannot squeeze me in even though this was of no fault of my own. Got passed to queue and I waited for another hour to see another doctor but then I was updated by the nurse that the wait times are worse then suspected for "priority queue" with wait time of further 2-3 hrs! So even though I did all the right things and made prior appointment my half day, travel and fuel was wasted. Very unprofessional and I will definitely be finding another practice where they atleast have the basics right. This has happened to me a few times with cancelled appointments but to actually cancel it while I was sitting there waiting the whole time and not even communicating is so frustrating!

Came in @ 11 am on 19/09/23 to get dosage adjust on my medicine and medical certificate ,reception desk operator unsure on medical certificate issuing process , gives me a 0800 number to call.Called number provided and after 20 mins on hold got advised I will need to see the doctor for process ,standing next to the receptionist I advised her and she was surprised with the answer . I was asked to pay $25.00 fee to prioritise my visit to Urgent care .Payment made around midday ,nurse checked me at 12:20 pm. I was called in by the doctor at 18:30pm. It was a 3 min interview. This is unacceptable service by the reception team .

If I could give 0 stars I would. Walked in when doors open to take my daughter and came out at 1230pm..you're better off going to the hospital cause you will be waiting the same amount of time. I was told by the doctor to plan ahead when visiting the doctor to avoid waiting almost 5 hours at walk in - SURE ill just consult a psychic and find out when my daughter will be sick and book an appt...HONESTLY what a joke!!! Green Cross Health (the owners) are heavily focused on making money while our Maaori and Pacific whaanau continue to suffer - waiting weeks for an appt, waiting half the day as a walk-in and told you cant do repeats cause you have to book an appt with your GP, so why not reduce the price for walk-ins if you still have to book to see your GP. Hopefully the new Samoan General manager reads these comments and at least do something.

Today I was seen by Dr.Chaoning Chen, he did a very good job at doing my check up as my case is quite complicated. DR Chen was very thorough, he took his time and didn't rush to any conclusions and went above and beyond to help me and advise me, this really put my mind at ease that he was doing all he could to help me to get better. It's only me and my mum and he understood our situation showed empathy which is heartwarming and priceless. He truly is a very good doctor and also his a good human being. Thanks Dr.Chen for the good work that you do we need more doctors like you in the community. Godbless you always

Won’t recommend middlemore drs you would have to wait 4hrs to be seen the waiting time is unbelievable. Dr Chen is an amazing dr though. Also for the Receptionist they need to start answering their calls when people are calling them and nurses are ok sometimes that’s my honest feedback for them.

I get what you mean they never answer their phone. But in all honesty, it’s better to just send them an email. They’ll reply Within that same day or the next but its better to communicate that way rather than on the phone.

Absolutely useless. My son visited them for a sicksheet, and the doctors said oh I want to see him before giving anything. Even though he had booked an appointment already. He had to wait 5+ hours. Receptionist also being very ignorant. Changed from one gp to this one but only coming across more useless service. Management should step up and pull their centre together.

Phones are never answered?! I sat in the clinic and called reception to not even hear the phone… ring while 3 receptionists were having a discussion amongst themselves? Pretty poor administration. Drs are great once you’re name finally gets called.

Very poor service I give them a -10. Called thru on Wednesday waited for at least 30mins no answer so left voice message to call back. No one called backed. Sent email through the manage my health no one emailed me back this went on till Friday when I went in to the doctor's to find out my doctor had left and they didn't know who my doctor would be. All I needed was a update on my medical certificate for acc as as I had an operation last month. Out of that I had to wait from 10am to be seen at 2pm to get a piece of paper. Not only that I needed to take an injection for cancer which I had on me and was told by the doctor who saw me I had to make an appointment. Frustrated and totally upset as how can one make an appointment when they don't get back to you. Also how can a doctor turn down a cancer patient to see a nurse to take this injection that wouldn't have taken long. Whoever is running this site is all for the money and not the patients. I will take this further we are paying for a service to be seen.

I had an appointment today (15/01/24) at 9.30 am, made on-line via the app. I got to reception at 9.20 and was abruptly asked about my business. I greeted the lady at reception and she responded with a 'good morning'. I said that I had a 9.30 appointment with one of the doctors (name withheld). She asked me to take a seat, not bothering to ask for any of my personal details. I was slightly taken aback at this but thought that as I mentioned the time of the appointment and the name of the doctor that she would join the dots. More than an hour had elapsed before I decided to approach reception to find out as to what I should do. This time I was assisted by a friendly lady who seemed puzzled by the long wait that I had endured. She approached another staff member who then took matters further. He was apologetic for the mess and arranged for me to see the doctor almost 90 minutes after the appointed time. MORAL OF THE STORY - Give your name, play dumb and ask the receptionist to check whether you got the date the time correct. In that way they wont screw up and forget about you. The two other front-of-house staff were superb.

5 star for Nurse Anna (Filipino ethnicity) I wanted take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for the excellent care you have provided on my recent visit. Your attention to detail and willingness to listen to my concerns were truely impressive. Anna was very professional, kind and empathetic. However one of the receptionist was very rude when I approached her as the doctor forget to prescribe one of my medication, the receptionist rudely stated “wait at the door and ask doctor when he comes out “ patients sitting around were also shocked with the behaviour” . While I was waiting outside on crutches nurse Anna saw me and ask if I need any help, she put a message for doctor for me. Thank you Nurse Anna I wish and hope their can be more Anna at clinic who can make difference in to people life.

Honestly useless. I literally booked an appointment to see a doctor &the receptionist gave me a paper to confirm my appointment went in the day of the appointment and they ended up telling me that there is no record of my booking & they can’t do anything about it but book me in for the week after🤦‍♀️ the receptionist that booked me in for it said she remembered me but can’t remember if she booked me in to see a doctor😂😂 also my mother can confirm you booked me in yet still denied me from seeing a doctor which was bloody important!! So pmo, girllll you should be fired because you stuffed up my first appointment with the nurse now you stuffed up my booking with in 2 weeks! Do better or go get a new job your actually good at..

Best service. If it’s hard for you to walk, nurses will come out to the car park where you are parked up and check out blood pressure etc before you see doctors. No vaccinated needed!

0 STARS!!! Calling this place is impossible, they will NEVER pick up. Better to go in and book, then you’ll see for yourself why the phones aren’t answered, receptionists too busy chattering amongst themselves. Also, if you walk in with no appointment, expect a 3-6 hour wait; even if you ask to book an appointment it’s 3-4 weeks out. They expect you to predict when you’ll be sick so it might be better to book an appointment for each month of the year in advance. Ridiculous!!

Once you get past the front desk this practice is fine. Fees are cheap and the Manage my Health app means repeat prescriptions and minor questions can be dealt with without an appointment. Even if you have a booked appointment, waits of up to 20 minutes aren't unusual, just to tell them you're there. They're not short of staff. Three receptionists are on duty but two of them just sit and stare at their screens and make the occasional tap. The people waiting aren't their priority. You'll pay more at practices in wealthier suburbs, but service there is light years ahead.
