We loved the walking trails in this wetlands park area and all of the singing birds! One of the best places in the area for birdwatchers or for wildlife enthusiasts. We also liked the easy access from the trails to multiple starting points from the parking area and streets, and that the paved walkway on the north end connected with another park that was nice to relax in, and had a play area for kids. There is access from the trails to the Glendowie Sand Spit, and many people relax in that area or swim. The Sand Spit also seems to be very popular with kite boarders, and they are fun to watch! We walked these trails almost every day when we were staying in the area, so don’t miss it!

Absolutely stunning! Amazing natural beauty. My first time here, immediately fall in love with everything. People who live in the neighborhood not only rich in the bank accounts, also rich in the unbeatable surrounding. Good for hiking Good for walking Good for photo shoot Good for filming Good for chill Good for date The heaven which is so close to the city centre. You will never regret driving 30 minutes only to visit here

Gets more beautiful every time I go there. Godwits are the stars for me. This spring there were so many native birds with their chicks.

A lovely, leisurely nature walk. You get to experience a beach, trail and park walk all in one. And there’s also a duck pond.

Great spot for a walk, take the kids, or enjoy a long run through the track with wildlife surrounding you. Just don't forget, no dogs allowed to protect the birds.

A stunning spot for walking and other recreational activities. There were swimmers, wind surfers, kayakers and runners while we were there. The scenery is stunning but the tracks are run down and it's obvious council maintenance is lacking. It truly is a hidden gem with beautiful views and bush making for a great spot to enjoy albeit lunch, a walk or something more

Interesting ranger walk organised by Council on the nature reserve. Glendowie's ecological treasure - Tahuna Torea Nature reserve. Learn about the unique flora and fauna of the coastal ecosystems within the reserve as well as the cultural history associated with the area.

Nature in the city of Auckland, a wilderness reserve with different types of forest, 2 distinct wetlands, beach and mud flats. Walking the prepared boardwalk will take you to signposts for many indigenous plant species and over the year you may see up to 50 species of birds. You can see the remains of the Maori fish dams evidence of historic use of the lands.

Beautiful but long walk. Lots to explore beaches, lagoon, mangroves, native plants, nice shoes, bugs repellent, sunscreen recommend.

Wonderful for forest bathing on one side and sea views on the other. It's one of my favorite places to stop, meditate, and find myself!

Very beautiful scenery here, lots of birds as dogs are banned. Walking path is quite muddy and bumpy and needs upgrade badly.

An absolutely lovely place to be away from suburbia. Lost of native trees, well kept trail, and lovely views of the Tamaki Estuary.

Beautiful, quiet spot to chill by the seaside. I plan to come back with my paddle board at high tide.

Nice Bush & Beach walk (especially @ low tide) in the middle of the city. Full of birds and shoreline to entertain all ages. Can get a little boggy after a few days of rain on one side of the loop

Photos do not do any justice on how beautiful this reserve is. When I went with my little family there were alot of families soaking up the sun and taking advantage of one of the best things about being in NZ, how beautiful our nature walks are and even better this is in our back yard 😁 families can enjoy a bush walk, relax with a picnic on the beach or feed the local ducks and pukeko that are wandering around.

Really nice afternoon there for our explorers, lots to do and learn. Really nice views for parents and a few good places under the shade. There’s not that many car parks so guessing that it may be crowded during the weekend but during week days it’s absolutely peaceful and makes for perfect memories

Beautiful spot. I'd give 5* if the signage of the trails were improved. Lots of birdlife and very peaceful. Lots to look at with boats and kite surfing.
