Arrived at 8:30pm on a Thursday night with my 11yr old who’d sliced her thumb on some glass, had an Emergency Q code because wait time was 1hr vs 2.5 hrs at Hospital. Was told we had to sit in the car or wait in one of their Covid cabins because I have a Mask Exemption. I confirmed they’d call the number on the ACC form I’d just completed and went into the car park. After 1.5 hrs I called to ask what the hold up was, they said they tried calling but it wasn’t the number on the form I’d filled in, it was some random number that was in their system At phone call number 4 I was told they have her arrival time as 9pm in their system when I know for a fact we were here at 8:30 since the code expired at 8:31pm. She’s been seen by the nurse but is sleeping in the back of the van now. At 11:48pm there were 4 people ahead of us. At 12:53 there’s still 3 ahead of us. 1 person per hour is pathetic. Wait time at Hospital is now 4 hrs 15 minutes. Wait time here is now 4 hrs 45 minutes. Ridiculous!!! Update: 1:58am. Still sitting in the car park & still 3 people ahead of us - no new arrivals Update: 2:25am. We’re inside. Doctor came in for 5 minutes and now we wait for the nurse. Update: 2:45am and we’re home. Receptionists - Great Nurse 1 - Not good Nurse 2 - Great Nurse 3 - Dressing and cleaning - ROUGH Doctor - Great Wait time - Hideous

Waiting to see a doctor was a nightmare. While I understand that emergency cases take priority, it felt incredibly unfair to wait for an extended period. Today, I visited Shorecare at 7 pm and saw a nurse about half an hour later. However, I couldn't see the doctor until 10 pm. The receptionist informed me that there were two patients ahead of me. I patiently waited until 11:30, at which point the receptionist stated that there was only one patient before me. I am still here in shorecare waiting to see any doctor and now, it is 02:00 AM next day. What made the experience even more frustrating was observing many other patients going in ahead of me, even though they had arrived at Shorecare much later than I had. This lack of respect for my time and condition as a patient was disheartening. I came seeking medical assistance while unwell, but it seemed like they did not fully comprehend my pain and simply told me to "wait." In such situations, it sometimes feels better to stay at home with a lot of painkillers than to endure the disrespectful treatment I experienced. I am a patient too, who was suffering so many days and came for help.

I went to the clinic in extreme pain. I saw Dr Hilton Jones. I believed I had a prolapsed disc and wanted an MRI done, he said definitely not after I described my symptoms and no need for an MRI, just exercise and take pain killers till the pain goes away (swim or wade hard until fatigue). I had a skin rash which he said was definitely not from Codeine I was taking for pain. He was so condescending and treated me like a two year old. Prescribed pain killers which the pharmacy never received. A week later I saw a surgeon who after 30 seconds of describing my symptoms said it is L4-5 prolapsed disc and sent me for an MRI. It was exactly that. After stopping Codeine the rash went away. I tested it two weeks later with a dose of Codeine and the rash appeared again. Every single thing this Dr said my symptoms were not, was 100% incorrect. I would not recommend this clinic even for an emergency and especially not this Dr.

If you want a long wait, it would be fine. Waiting for 4 1/2 hrs to see a doctor wasn't worth. Even we expected some wait and also been told approx 2 hrs at admission on arrival. Checked some old reviews and many people left same review for a long wait for years. The owner has same response and saying send details so they can investigate. If no improvement made after years, what's the point for patients who complained about same problem - super long wait.

Saw a triage nurse around 240am with our 1yr old daughter. Went into a patient room around 315am waited for a doctor just a little over an hour but no one came into the room. The clinic was quiet. Ended up walking out around 430am without being seen by anyone.

Unless you’re dying don’t go here. They keep telling you the treatment will be available soon and then put other patients in front of you without any information. I was told the wait would be relatively fast then told after an hour that it would take another hour. Putting emergency care patients in front of me is fine but why consistently lie about the wait time for an hour?

Really awesome service during COVID. Super friendly and attentive staff. Reasonably long wait times given it’s the only 24/7 clinic open on the North Shore but really appreciate the efforts of the team here. Thank you Shorecare for looking after your urgent care patients. Your kind and friendly service is greatly appreciated 😊

I recently visited Shorecare Medical Centre for urgent care and had a mixed experience. While I was pleased with the professionalism of the GP, nurse, and staff, I must express my concern about the timeliness of the service. The waiting times were way longer than expected, and it seems to be a recurring issue according to previous reviews. The management attributes this to unpredictable patient numbers and their priority, but after several years, this appears to be a sign of poor planning. Despite this drawback, the medical care provided was satisfactory, and the staff exhibited a high level of competence. Improving the efficiency of service delivery would significantly enhance the overall experience for patients.

Took 5 hours to serve 5 patients. Their first timeline was 1 hour and two emergency patients came through. So emergency patients can't justify the waiting time. The North shore hospital is faster don't waste your time and money here.

Kia Ora I was sent to this urgent care last night from North Shore A& E. Front reception was very clear and helpful when arriving. Busy place however she was respectful and being as helpful given circumstances ✅ Nurse Sarah was very thorough, caring and gave excellent tautoko for my accident. She made the unfortunate experience very comforting. Then handed to Nurse Michaela Fletcher and her attention to detail, caring ear and excellent process parts required for x ray, tetanus shot, stitches and proper bandaging needed. Also helpful post info for my recovery ❤️‍🩹. Grateful for the staff making the experience most relaxing and addressing the medical issues. Also the radiographer Michelle was helpful. Despite tending to 20 persons before me they were cheerful, caring and attentive! Ngā mihinui Kia koe Jason

I had absolutely wonderful care here today from two nurses and one doctor. Katie is a nurse, she was so kind and did a wonderful job of distracting me through an unpleasant procedure. Herzl was my other nurse and he was so reassuring, calm and prompt with his delivery of first aid and triage. Siobhan was my doctor and she took so much time to care for me and patch me up, she talked me through everything she was doing, was kind, patient and understanding of my nerves. She also cared for my partner during it all. Highly highly recommend this service and appreciate the team so much. Thank you all ♥️

I went yesterday to have myself checked by a doctor on the advise of the nurse at my GP. Been reading reviews here that says that there was always a long wait time. But now, having experienced it myself, I understand why, and it is because the doctors are being very thorough and Dr. Walsh in particular has been extremely empathetic and even phoned a consultant to identify the best possible treatment for me. Thankful for the care! The doctors and nurses (shoutout to Nurse Laura) are truly a blessing, may the blessing be returned to them a hundredfold. Cheers Shorecare!

These guys are totally awesome, the place was heaving. I did wait and I expected to wait, as we are currently in the middle of a world wide shortage of medical professionals!!! I fell and thought I best just get checked out. I had fractured my wrist and the nurse was amazing, she knew straight away. The Dr. Sonya, was kind, compassionate, clearly knew what she was talking about. She explained everything and gave me a good treatment plan. How, the receptionists cope I will never know, with constant ringing phones, impatient patients and rude, abusive, entitled people treating them like they have no brain. Come on you 1 star rates, stop being key board warriors and if you really have a legitimate complaint, go through the proper channel.

Brought in a sick 2 week old and had amazing care. The medical professionals are under so much pressure right now but it never affected their care. Special mention for Bobbie an incredible nurse who quickly identified our sons need and didn’t flinch as he did what babies do when cold air hits them. She is such an asset to the team.

Unfortunately, I was in need of medical attendance as a tourist in Auckland. Everybody (without exception - receptionist, nurse and especially the doctor) was helpful and caring. They were extremely transparent about all the fees and payments I was required to pay as a foreigner and always included me in the decision-making. The waiting time was tolerable even though they were short on staff. All in all I spent approx. an hour there and even got referred to an ultrasound specialist for an appointment the same day. The doctor called me the next day to make sure I got my results and she gave me some further advices. WOULD RECOMMEND!

I got at the Shore Care Smalles Farm with my 3 years old son at 2:00 pm, the receptionist was lovely and gave all the correct instructions. After 30 min, the nurse called us and was great as well. She informed that the waiting was 2 hours. After 2:30 hours, I asked the receptionist when they will see my son, she said there was 5 people in front of him. What I couldn't understand was the fact the people that got there after us were called to see the GP before... If you have kids, don't go to Shore care.... it's a torture for them to wait this long.

My daughter fell on her wrist during a netball game and was taken to Shorecare at Smalesfarm. Reception was friendly and assisted with care and kindness. The nurses were kind and gentle and treated my daughter with such love and professionalism. The radiologist was kind and so gentle. And the doctor was funny and friendly, made my daughter feel heard and respected. He talked to her and explained the injury and treatment to her in a away that she understood what needed to happen next. She was given the power to make decision over her injury. Every single staff member that we were in contact with was friendly, helpful and very professional. The NZ health sector has it tough at the moment, these guys did not let on that they might be tired or might be stressed - we were their focus. Thank you!

I have to acknowledge the pressure doctors and medical systems are under. I took my brother to the medical centre above and the nurses were brilliant. Unfortunately this did not help my brother. He was sitting for three and a half hours with an intense headache that ripped across his head forcing him to place cold water bottles to ease some of the pain. It got to a stage where he was considering banging his head on the floor. I asked certain staff members to get some help with the pain but this fell on deaf ears after I was told they would alert the nurses, which I sincerely do not believe happened. I asked the same staff members twice and nothing was done. I spotted a nurse in her triage room and I asked her for help and she was wonderful in helping him. As I mentioned, I know they are under pressure but for someone in such intense pain, this cannot be an excuse. One sign said alert the desk if struggling to breathe and one other, then they mentioned intense pain. I did this but to no avail. I am sorry but watching my brother almost rolling in pain was not something I can forget so easily and have lost faith in the medical centre mentioned.

Giving Shorecare 5 stars to their nurses... most especially to April I think is her name (the one with the eyeglasses). We were there late last night and she has been very accommodating to my partner who have been suffering from severe headache and dizziness. She was very caring and understanding, she listened to our needs and even checked with the doctor for some alternatives. This is how nurses should be - very caring and understanding most especially to patients who are experiencing discomfort. Hats off on how April has been trained and I hope there will be more "Aprils" there at Shorecare, that's what patients need. Thanks for all your help and assistance, April! :-)

Rory hands down best dr I’ve ever seen. I took my 2 year old daughter in and he put her and myself at ease. As soon as he spoke we felt comfortable and safe. My 2 year old who wasn’t feeling well was laughing with him and letting him do all tests needed. He explained everything in detail and went above and beyond in his role to make my toddler comfortable. 100% give this guy a job with kids and a pay raise….. he couldn’t have done anything better!

Leah at reception, Nurse Hilary, and Dr. Siobhan provided outstanding care and demonstrated commendable expertise. Despite occasional lengthy wait times, it's important to acknowledge that the dedicated staff isn't responsible for this issue. They deserve appreciation for their commitment to delivering excellent care under challenging circumstances. Grateful for the exceptional service.

Outstanding care shown to us by Andy the doctor, Fri night as a family member had broken his finger. We can't rate Andy highly enough, caring, efficient, skilled and provided excellent communication to us. Receptionists, Nurse who set my son's cast & radiologist were all pleasant. We had a four hour wait which we expected from the past times we had been.

I went in for an X-ray on my foot and the staff were brilliant! Reception, nurses and doctor all were prompt, polite and made me feel comfortable. They did a good job explaining everything to me, I felt heard and taken care of. Particularly Jessica who was so kind to me and all the patients she was helping. I was there for roughly 2 hours which was quicker than expected, good considering it’s a few days before Christmas. I’ve had some pretty bad experiences in the past with doctors and hospitals so this really was above and beyond professionalism and changed my perspective of healthcare services. I noticed everyone was seen quickly on arrival and discharged within reasonable times. Great experience :)

We’ve been here multiple time in last two months and have been super impressed by Nurse Mark, he’s definitely in the right profession and he has the passion to help people genuinely. What an asset to have. Great job Mark because of you a family felt better at Shorecare Takapuna. Cheers Mate.

Yet to see Doc. Wait time has been relatively okay given the White Cross is closed. Saw nurse Mark. Absoloute gem, compassionate and beautiful manner esp with a full waiting room- we felt heard. His experience in complex care in communities in South Akl and coming here is hugely obvious and very advantageous for all but esp minority communities in NS who tend not to seek medical care often. You guys are lucky to have him as the first port of call post front desk. Front desk help was also great and helpful and nice esp with a huge room full of patients.

My experience on Sep 25 had been really amazing. I accidently injured three finger with deep skin cuts. Dr Nick thoroughly check my fingers to ensure no other damages other than the skin cut. The nurses, X-Ray and Dressing Clinic staff were all friendly and professional. I was in and out in a couple of hours. Thank you Shorecare.

10/10 service! Everyone that I talked to from the front desk to the nurses to the doctors were super friendly, probably the best service I've ever had at a medical centre. This was my first time visiting a medical centre since moving to the shore from East Auckland and I just want to say I'm super impressed. The nurses and doctors even went the extra mile to talk to me about my nursing studies which was really cool.

Last saturday evening I was greeted by a wonderful triage nurse called Philippa the care I received from her and the amazing doctor was absolutely the best you could ask for. They were extremely busy but you never felt rushed and they gave you 100%. Thank you from a very grateful patient, Lynne

Fabulous staff at Shore Care. I had to bring my elderly uncle here yesterday, deferred from the hospital, after their triage. Lovely, kind, nit rushed, super care, and good sense of humor to our 2 triage nurses, including 1 trainee nurse, and then the lovely Doctor. My uncles 81 so nice they didn't rush him. Definitely use this business again. 👌

Had an amazing experience with a nurse called Mark. My daughter had been vomiting on and off all night and was not in a good state. He was so kind, caring and patient with her. Slowed right down when she got distressed. Involved her in the Covid test as she was scared so gave her a job. We eventually got a GP appointment as the wait time was so long, but on the way out he spotted us and came to check on her. He even remembered her name! Best experience with a nurse ever. Thank you for making a terrible time a little bit easier.

No actual assistance or proper greeting made by reception, just instantly instructed to scan QR code, fill in the form and wait. Due to being a public holiday the cost was $174.00!!!! Absolute daylight robbery! Even the cost on a normal day is $139.00. How are people meant to afford this if something goes wrong? I was so incredibly ill, throwing up for 3 days, no strength, severe stomach cramps, rash, fever but when we saw that price we had to turn around and leave. Disgusting with the thousands we pay in taxes, acc, etc. every year that I have to walk away from getting urgent help because it's so expensive. Only time I have ever had to seek out urgent care in my life, at least now I know never to bother again.

I would give 0 but I can’t. Came in for a sports injury to the knee, got told that it was just sprained and it would pass in 2 weeks, went to a physio the next day turned out my meniscus was torn which has a way longer healing period, so not quite happy about that. when I was sent home they gave me two right-handed crutches instead of one of each, which made walking with them uncomfortable for my hands. When they handed me the crutches they said they were $30 and I could get a refund of $20 if I would bring them back. So, paid for everything and today I stopped by to bring the crutches back however I did not get my refund because apparently they didn’t have proof of me actually paying for the crutches, so drove all the way from south Auckland to the clinic for nothing. Very sneaky way of making people bring the crutches back.

WISH I COULD GIVE NEGATIVE STAR. Worse experience and definitely need an answer from this doctor and shore care. We are totally not impressed with this shorecare and Doctor Brighton Tsai. My friend visited the clinic today and was told to only waited 1 hour max but over 3 hours as she had concerned about a possible wound infection at her lower body. Second, Why you need to check her heart rate while she only came for professional advice in regards to her wound. I do understand that you might need to use a stethoscope for patients in some circumstances, but Doctor Brighton Tsai himself as a man should be aware of where HE PLACE HIS HAND. It is common sense that you try to avoid ANY POSSIBLE body contact when using a stethoscope , especially when she is a underage female? I am not professional, but does it make any sense that you put your whole hand against her breast while trying to figure out her "HEART RATE" ?? I can't make a conclusion or assumption but why did you put your hand against my daughters breast with so call "checking her heart rate"???. It is totally unprofessional and disgusting as human being and hope that will help people that want to visit this clinic or Dr Brighton Tsai. Pay attention if you come on your own and try to come with your friend if you do need to visit.

If I could give zero stars I would. My father and I arrived after 11am got seen by a nurse were told we were 12th in queue. We asked if it was okay to have a quick bite to eat and were told to be back in an hour and a half, if not they'd ring him. We went across the road to The Goodside for a bite to eat and a coffee. Returned and notified reception that he had returned, and was told there was one person left and he was next. We are still sitting here. It is now 2.45pm and we are sitting here watching people come in be seated, and then be called in. Not very impressed. And no, it is not busy.

Had a very good experience here when my son bit open his lip, wait time was the predicted 1.5hrs, Dr Fong was very thorough and also checked up on a secondary illness he had. Nurse Mark was fantastic at helping calm and made great suggestions to reduce the pain and make it less intense. Big thanks to the team.

Really happy with our experience at Shore care. Our nurse Mark and Dr. Craft were excellent, they were great with the kids and Mark went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable during the long wait time (due to other clinics being shut down). I have never had such a pleasant experience at a medical clinic, thank you. 😊

No-one ever wants to visit Urgent Care and we've unfortunately had to visit 3 times as a family in the past month or so. All the nurses and doctors we've seen are always so professional, kind and patient. Dr Rory in particular is an incredible Dr. He always takes the time to listen, we've never felt rushed, and he logically and rationally explains his approach to the particular ailment. He has also seen our toddler before and he was great with her, as well as empathetic to us as first time parents. The reception team are on the whole great too, apart from one person who I hope was having an off day and used the 'above my pay grade' line, which didn't go down too well... All in all, we've started making the slightly longer journey to go to this Urgent Care because the team are great and waiting times acceptable.

So impressed and thankful for every person we came in contact with at Shore Care. Our wee toddler had a fractured leg and he was looked after so amazingly. The receptionist helped calm him with sharing her toy with him, our nurse was so gentle and explained everything to him (and then he got a lollipop which was a bonus!) the X-ray lady calmed him right down and was so patient when he wiggled around, our doctor got on the floor with him and played while he explained what was happening and lastly the 2 people who plastered his leg up were incredible and probably the most patient people in this world! One of the most awful experiences we have had with our children was made a whole load better because of everyone there. Not to mention they have a kids area, amazing! Forever thankful for the kindness and professionalism that was shown. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts
