Little Shoal Bay Reserve

Park

👍👍 A lovely quiet little reserve with a great picnic area and a playground. When it's high tide the water is great for wander around in as it will generally only be waist deep out quite far. Lots of parking too and a tennis court across the road. People often mention great, picnic, playground, Great, views, bridge, court,

We visit this reserve occasionally and everytime we visit, we get a great experience. The views of the harbour bridge are expansive and wide. There is a small park for children containing a variety of rides and slides. This makes it a great place to spend a couple of hours with kids. Small amount of parking spaces are available too. The access is easy via road and it is a well recommended outing on a sunny day.

Little Shoal Bay is a nice relaxing family friendly beach located between the Birkenhead and Northcote Point of the North Sore region in Auckland. It can be accessed by Maritime Terrace from the Birkenhead end or Queen St/ Rodney Rd/ Church Rd in the Northcote Point. It is a destination on its own, having a picnic area with BBQ, toilet facilities, a small beach for swimming, a playground and over the road, bowling club, a tennis court and a basketball court. It also is one access point to the popular Le Roy's reserve which has a couple of nice bush tracks where you can spend hours exploring wetland and land-based fauna and flora.

Lots to do, cool playground with shade, plenty of area for activities. Not many picnic tables or BBQs etc. Could do with a few more of those and a new public toilet block. An outdoor gym area with pull-up bars, dip bars etc. Would be better than the current set-up too

Lovely little park, playground and beach, with a great view of Auckland city and the harbour bridge. Low tide you can walk out a very long way. Great for kids who like to find tiny sea crabs under the rocks.

Outstanding views, great safe reserve for dogs, easy to launch kayaks. This place needs more support and investment, it's a hidden gem in danger of being lost to rising sea levels.

👍👍 A great spot, convenient, lots of available parking and heaps of space across the fields. There are rubbish bins on site, unfortunately some people choose not to use them & I usually do a little rubbish pick-up on my visits. There is also Smith's Bush there which is a great little set of boardwalks...
