Great beach for families with young children. Calm waters, soft sand, playground, toilets. Just be cautious of people launching boats and jet skis.

Small beach in Castor Bay. It has a fairly large playground as well as a nice tree for climbing. There is grassy area around the playground for picnics or just to sit on the grass. The beach itself isn't very big but it is nice. It is surrounded on either side by rocks (rockpools during low tide) and if you head north (left) over the rocks it leads to another, longer beach which has a set of stairs that lead up to JF Kennedy Memorial Park. Nice place for a swim, rest or wander.

Great beach and foreshore area with golden sand, lots of shade and generally a nice crowd. Note that parking is very limited, so on busy days you might have trouble finding a park near the beach. Gets nice and deep quickly which is good compared to some beaches in Auckland. There’s also a pontoon which is an added bonus.

Safe beach for all the family, get here early as there are limited parks. Don’t park in the boat trailer parks during the summer months. Highly recommend this beach.

Such a beautiful little beach with nice spots under the trees to have some shade. I like that the beach is not too long and big, so it feels more personal - It’s good to come here with kids because you can see them from everywhere. The platform in the water is fun to swim to and good rocks to climb onto. Public toilets straight at the beach and an ice-cream truck that stops there once or twice a day!

Very nice beach! Not many people go to this beach so it is quite serene and quiet.

I do like this beach but it is always crowded. It’s great for kids because of the park and water being so close, lots of grass for picnics and trees for shade. Dogs are allowed here too. Water is a bit icky unless you go far out.

Great place for family time, several big trees create massive shades, playground for kids, you can choose between picnic on the grass or sunbathing on the sand, go for a swim, walk, talk, or simply enjoy the view. Don't forget your mosquito spray, those tiny insects won't leave a spot. And sunscreen of course, this is our must have.

Such a great spot on a sunny day. Not overly crowded, plenty of space to fibd yourself a quiet spot to relax and enjot the view in the sun or shade. Public toilets are available and there is a grassy area as well.

Great for the kids to play on the play ground, kick the ball around on the grass, climb a big tree, play at the beach and walk around some rocks

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Great park and dog beach with excellent drink fountain for dog and good toilet facility. A favourite swimming beach with dog in summer, lovely for a walk and ball game in winter. Thanks to 'Blake' (see photo) for installing rubbish bin beside stairway. Great idea.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ It is a great spot for the locals, young or old. There is a big car park I the front. The new public toilet is very handy. It's very popular for dog walkers.
