Tourist attraction β€’ Park

πŸ‘πŸ‘ This is great mid way stop on the walk to Browns bay. The improvements to the pond are looking good and the new over the water walkway is going to only improve a great family friendly park. Feed the ducks, have a picnic let the kids play in the playground. Just a great place to be. People often mention park, kids, great, playground, good, ducks,

A good place for recreation. There are wild ducks, a grove of beautiful trees, playgrounds for kids, and some shops where you can buy snacks and drinks. A spacious car park is also available to park your car in carefree. There are public toilets for your convenience too. It is indeed a nice spot to feel the delicate idyll of the nature while breathing a fresh air in relax. Kids are very excited and happy to feed the wild ducks too. I recommend not to feed bread or other food that might be harmful or not healthy to them. Corn and peas are better and the ducks really like them. The forest of trees are very beautiful in this season like autumn where they change the color of their leaves. The place can be one of the photographing sites at least for the amateurs. The streamlet which flows along the park adds the pleasing senses of the sceneries too. You can also watch a group of eels swimming or resting in the stream from the bridge near to the football field. There are two playgrounds nearby providing a lot of choices for the kids to play. The super market there is also handy for you in case you need something to buy. The stylists in the Sherwood hair studio there are very professional and I like to cut my hair there. The place currently is under some naturalization works and you might encounter some fences in some places for now. But you still can enjoy that amazing place a lot!

Needs more shade. We visited in the afternoon and the sun was in such an angle that none of the playground or seating area had shade, which is sad because there are beautiful seats, park benches, and picnic tables all over. The grounds and equipment are in great shape, though, and my boys did enjoy playing there. Better for children ages 1 to 4 too. Not too much for older children apart from the balance walk and the climbing net which is not shaded at all

Such a beautiful place, clean and flat. Playground area is great for young kids and teens. Walk down to the pond and you'll find ducks, plenty of pigeons and great for picnics

The updated paths and water way looks amazing at the moment with rocks, tree trunks, plants and a water feature in the stream. The new paths are a lot wider than the current ones which is great. Can't wait until it is 100% finished and open. The park is lovely and great for taking families with children to. The kids enjoyed the playground and seeing the eels in the stream. Close to shops, tennis court and sports fields.

Another successful Park Run - mini milestone at 5. Staffed by the amazing volunteers who make it all possible. Park is very wet after weeks of heavier than normal rain but still fun, sweaty and friendly.

My daughter enjoyed this playground and it has a great fish & chip shop next to it. We will visit it again next time we're in Auckland

Amazing place for our littler ones. They’re happy as the whole area is full with nice equipment and shade if necessary. Nearby is really nice F&C shop and the food is just delicious. Strongly recommended place. Thank you Auckland Council.

I love this place as it always makes me happy or relaxed, the walkways interlink and go on and on either to Browns Bay, or back up to the Sherwood shops where I can always enjoy with friends and family

This is a place where It's ideal for kids and families. You can picnic here, play the football, cricket or rugby on the playground, it has tennis courts as well. A steam goes by the park and you can find eels live in. Many trees give you shadow in summer. It has a playground for kids and a duck pond for family's fun. I like this place very much.

Great park! It has heaps to do and lots of variety for the kids and parents with places to sit and different zones for the kids as well as a walking track ans river. Local shops are a welcome treat and the parking is very convenient.

I stopped here with my young son on a whim and was pleasantly surprised by just how much park and playground was tucked behind the crest of the hill. Take your time exploring the park and its environs and you won't be disappointed. Also there's a bridge with like 40 eels living under it (no exaggeration) so if your toddler is acting up you can always throw them in there.

Great place to take the kids and the fur kids. Just watch out if your fur baby has a high prey drive for birds as there are alot of ducks and other birds in the area, also if its been raining heavily there will be lots of mud.

Great outdoor park. Has all the usual kids stuff (swings climbing frames etc) also has a good climbing obstacle course, suitable for 4-9 yrs although my kids enjoyed this while they were both older and younger. Also has lots of green space around it, and is a good distance from major roads. The grass downhill from the park can get a touch wet in winter, but otherwise the wider park is a great place to explore. Recommend keeping an eye on younger kids while playing as the park isnt fenced, but is otherwise safe enough.

πŸ‘ It was our first time here and loved the little walking tracks. We didn't really plan well on where to go but found it relatively easy to navigate. Great for kids. Paths are fairly well constructed, although in winter might be slippery in places. At times you feel like you are in thick bush, far awa...
