We had a birthday dinner at the Bistro. The vibe is amazing and waiters are super friendly. We ordered fish and wine. The fish was absolutely amazing, couldn’t get enough! Then we had dessert. A chocolate something with caramel artichoke, OMG it was good. Will definitely return!

An enjoyable couple of al fresco meals with good friendly service. Based on this first visit I will be returning. I returned for a brilliant evening meal. The beef cheeks melt in the mouth & the deserts we ordered were perfect. Will be returning more often after this latest visit.

We dined on a Saturday night and have been blown away by their amazing menu, attention to detail, great wine list, gorgeous fit out, lovely, genuine service- not to mention their awesome food! Every dish was fab, I can’t mention anything we didn’t enjoy and we tried a LOT! The menu has something for everyone and try something you wouldn’t normally! Definitely choose this place for your next dining out occasion!

I was recommended this establishment from foodie friends of mine, who proved yet again that they know what they're talking about! Matt, one of the owners, was on the floor all of the time, assisting diners to have the best evening, clearly confident that his team out 'back' knew what they were doing also. Every part of the evening was fantastic, and the meal was so good, we all had to share each others food to some extent because we wanted to try it all! I had the small plate ribs with a couple of seasonal vege sides - each was a true delight. The service was excellent too. Thank you to the entire team who made our evening so lovely.

This is a local for us and it is a great night out. The menu is superb and it is always buzzing. The restaurant itself is very cool and has a great feel.

We had lunch here last week and it was a wonderful experience. Eating out with young kids can be less than enjoyable but the staff at Stanley’s made us feel very welcome. Our waitress, Erana, was an absolute delight and the food was excellent and an incredible bargain to boot. A definite 5 star experience.

Great food and good cocktails. Particular favourite was the chicken liver parfait and honeycomb scone. Surprised the combo worked so well.

It took us a while to finally try this local but wow! We will be back again and again for sure. They catered amazingly for a food allergy we had in our group and all the food we had was amazing! Service was fantastic and the atmosphere allowed us all a proper catch up without being drowned out by music. Great wine list (3 bottles were effortlessly consumed over the night!) and the special Salmon starter with pork crackling was amazing. If you haven't tried this place then do!

Absolutely amazing ! From the moment we walked in we were made to feel so welcome. We ordered the Confit Pork Belly which was divine and shared the Stanley’s Chocolate Mousse - which was so decadent! Beautifully presented meals - along with great service - a hidden gem - thank you so much, it was superb.

Went there for the first time, and wow! What a great local place for the North Shore. I would highly recommend it for couples or small groups of friends to have an intimate quality dinner.

Wow - where do I begin. Firstly, our server was lovely, and offered insight into the menu. The cocktails were tasty and lovely. But the atmosphere was dark and dim. Unfortunately it was a real shame when you feel unwelcome by the manager, who was on his phone, making comments about what we had ordered and not say a word to us throughout our stay. The arrogance was steaming off the man who couldn’t care less what we spent, as long as it was “more than just a bowl of fries” on what was not a busy night for them. My apologies for spending so much on cocktails, and a shame that our table only wanted fries. Next time we will go elsewhere.

Kathryn looked after our every need, and it really seemed like we were the only customers in the packed venue. Cracker spot to really relish that fine dining experience. My family highly recommends Stanley Avenue Wine Bar. We can't wait to go back for more.

We popped in for after work drinks and a couple of tasty snacks at this local gem. If you haven't been here it's well worth a visit! The Truffle Mushroom Arancini are a must, so is the Beef Tartare. Great atmosphere and superb wine list too! Absolutely recommended.

Just finished the family feast for four by their fabulous new head Chef. The food was sublime, So fresh with well balanced exceptional flavours. Beautifully presented and generous portion sizes. I teach hospitality so have high standards. This was a truly memorable meal and I can't wait till we can dine inside again.

One of the best neighbourhood bistros I have tried recently. Both the food and drinks were great and decent portion size. I look forward to going back soon to try more items on their menu.

Definitely worth a visit. We received a nice welcome from Anna and Catherine. It was blustery last evening and we hadn't made a reservation but they were so accommodating. I ordered the beef which was very tender and my friend enjoyed her chicken dish. We shared a generous side dish of kumara and goats cheese. Dessert was limonocello and also banana meringue with rum sauce (a little too sweet...no problem, they would let the chef know). Stanley Ave has an incredible wine selection. They have tried to reduce noise with acoustic paneling.

Wow: It's a totally amazing place. Great food, wonderful wine. Matt is very knowledgeable and suggested the perfect wine to go with our exquisite food. Nothing was too difficult. Our waitress was a delight and very attentive. Highly recommend this place. Our second visit and a third will be a must next time we visit from Wellington.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Stanley Avenue in Milford, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the welcoming and stylish ambiance of the restaurant. The service was top-notch, and our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. For starters, I ordered the sourdough bread, which was fresh and had a delicious crust, and the arancini, which were crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Both were excellent, but the real standout dish was the duck, which I ordered as my main. It was perfectly cooked, with crispy skin and juicy meat, and the accompanying sauce was a delicious complement to the dish. Speaking of wine, the wine list at Stanley Avenue was beyond good - it was truly exceptional. With a wide variety of bottles from all over the world, there was something to suit every taste and budget. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience in Milford. The food is excellent, the service is outstanding, and the wine list is top-notch. I will definitely be returning soon!

The two older staff members were incredibly arrogant from the time we walked in. The older blonde women asked us if we wanted another drink, and when I said no she took my unfinished cocktail and walked off. Such a shame as all of the younger staff were so friendly and courteous.

Third time dining at Stanley Avenue last night. Quality of cooking and presentation is way above standard local restaurant fare and better than most in the central city and Viaduct areas. Imaginative flavours are complemented with seasonal ingredients at reasonable prices. Decor is modern with a happy, lively vibe to the place. The front of house team is polished and professional, while still remaining relaxed and welcoming. Thanks for a great evening!
