What an amazing place for magic the gathering! Great staff and great prices for singles. Staff are very friendly and there is adequate space to play magic the gathering along with other board games that you can try before you buy. Amazing selection of board games, mtg and mtg products and accessories. Would definitely recommend this place for magic the gathering players.

This store nurtured me from a curious kid with a starter box to an adult MtG aficionado. Great prices, lovely staff, and I like the new premises on the upper floor of the arcade. Cards, board games, everything's here.

Went to purchase the Leviathan box set but this store will not accept cash. I spent my $500 at Vagabonds. It’s just around the corner too.

Friendly and professional staff. Purchased an item that was likely damaged from the suppliers, and the staff were understanding and helpful in immediately offering a replacement.

One of the best stores for nerd hobbies with extremely competitive prices. Only complaints are they're not very communicative with customers on preorders, and they seem to have delays with every new magic set that other stores don't. Still with the cheap prices it's worth the minor headaches

Although not an avid board gamer, I so enjoy browsing here. Bought an awesome chess set a couple of weeks back which has already been christened. The staff are enthusiastic, knowledgable and helpful. This makes a difference. You can see they love their products just as much as their customers. They've recently moved upstairs (take the escalator) if you are looking for them. Well worth a visit! 👍🤗

Cool spot downstairs in the arcade. Heaps of games to choose from - nicely organised by theme instead of alphabetically so you can compare similar products. Nice space with plenty of tables to play in store too. Those is a regular stop off each time I visit Auckland now. They have some great engaging staff too - it’s awesome when game store staff get out from behind the counter to find out what interests you and share their knowledge - and this crew does that.

How lovely it is to have such a well-stocked game store right in the heart of the CBD. They have dozens of board games to suit every whim and fancy, plus a library of tabletop RPG options and much more beyond my own comprehension. If you’re into MTG, they have a number of individual booster packs for sale (including some unexpected inclusions from harder-to-find sets), plus a library of singles, EDH decks, and more. Check their Facebook group for a schedule of their MTG events and do note that often the store closes before the event concludes (the gameplay takes place on tables throughout the mall), so you’ll want to get there before the shop closes up to register and give them some very well earned business before they close shop.

Popped in today for the first time and had a great experience. Chris who was working was very cheerful, chatty and helpful. I managed to pick up some second hand ad&d books at very reasonable prices. Nice work guys, I will definitely be back next time I'm in Auckland.

I came into the shop today looking to buy my dad a cool model for Xmas but was met with some shocking customer service. I was browsing the space marine section and tried to get the attention of the staff member (on duty at 5:00pm) but he was too busy chatting to his friend about E girls and Cat girls and I was ignored until I had to butt in their conversation to ask if they had any Black Friday deals/ if they are doing Black Friday. However, the staff member didn't even answer my question and replied rudely along the lines with "yea our prices are really good anyways," and I'm still confused to as whether King of Cards is even doing Black Friday sales. Overall, I'm quite disappointed and decided not to buy the cool models I found at the shop and will look at other stores with staff that have basic knowledge of customer service

What can I say that hasn't been said already, even after not going for years, to be welcomed, recognised, and treated as family is as good an experience as you can get from any small business. That's something that online store fronts just can't compete with, and what will keep bringing me back every week.
