I liked the music. The voice of Erica and the good vibrations was fantastic. They perform every Sunday so be sure to check it out. It was my birthday and I just couldn't stop dancing. No cover, but please if you go tip the Bartender and bands. I loved the whole vibe of the place. Seating is a little limited but if you don't mind standing and dancing like me, that's a non-issue. Again, Awesome work Good Vibrations and great singing. Keep it 💯.

Sixth street how you’ve declined so quickly. Once full of live music every afternoon and night, now DJs, hip hop and not a musician in sight. If you still want to see actual musicians playing blues and rock, look no further. Friends is your spot. Great bartenders and no cover.

Friends bar for the first time. Came for the live music (tonight’s was Sunny Wolf). Great bar with good service, quality food, and great vibes. What we ordered from food truck (Food Notes) in the back: Texas poutine, and a brisket and smoked chicken taco. Texas poutine ($14) green chili queso, pulled pork, corn relish, sour cream, green onion. Delicious but pricey. Brisket Taco ($7) Smoked brisket, jalapeno cilantro sauce, avocado, garnished with cilantro. Excellent quality would get again. Smoked Chicken Taco ($7) corn relish, avocado, salsa verde. A little slimy and not so good as the brisket. You can get coke in a bottle for $4 at the food truck.

Great place. Higher quality musicians than makes any sense at all. I watched a man play a 335 behind his head, and without missing a note. Just ridiculous. The drinks are also really solid and reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

Best bar for music on 6th St - and that's saying something. You won't find better blues music and guitarists than here. I loved this place for the quality of music and lack of cover charge. Fun crowd each time I was there (3x in 5 days). I just had to leave with a Friend's Bar t-shirt.

Good place to have some good food and listen to live music. Healthy menu option is a salad which was good. People under 21 can get in with their guardians. The spicy Alamo drink was very tasty.

Bar to have beer and listen to music. The band is really good. Most are standing on feet to see the show. Even though there are a few tables :)

✌🏻I swung in there under the understanding I’d never been there, only to realize as I walked in… “Wait, yeah I have ..” 😆 I had a blast both times, perhaps too much the first time 🥴🤭 Fun music, each musician plays something different, the variety of the crowd is enjoyable. Just a grab a drink… ask for Teddy to make it ✌🏻Hers are pretty great!… then find a wall, bar stool, bench, or whathaveyou, and people watch as the tunes play on. Either way it’s good ☺️✌🏻

Good live music on a nightly basis! The best place on 6th street for music by far - mainly blues and some of the best of it. The food is pretty decent and the bar makes a mean old fashioned. Drinks are sorta pricey but what are ya gonna do. Atmosphere is cozy, bathrooms could use a little work though… All in all… definitely worth stopping by this spot for music - in the live music capitol of the world.

Solid rock band but GREAT blues band on a Sunday night with no cover. The queso was good but the chips are awesome(like wonton chips Texas style)

Amazing blues bar. I was in Austin for 4 nights and I ended up here every night just to watch these dudes shred. Gary Clark Jr happen to be hangin out and got on stage for a song. It was incredible.

Super cute and big bar with a stage for live performances! Really love the setup - lots of tables and dancing space. The audio system was pretty great for the live performance as well. I saw a punk rock band play here with a violinist - cool alternative type sound, which was cool!

Excellent service, awesome music, and a friendly atmosphere. Good Mexican food is served from a food truck in the bar. Jac Carson plays on Mondays for lunch, and he was amazing. All told, it was a great experience!

What a great spot to hang out with friends or make some new ones. We went for the live music, my cousin and his band were playing. A chill, relaxing vibe… and there’s a food truck built into the back of the bar. If you’re in Austin near 6th St, definitely pop in, you won’t be disappointed.

Great atmosphere, awesome people, and a great band playing. One dude made a drink I couldn't drink, but they fixed that mistake in a big way. I wouldn't hesitate to come back any time I'm in town. Thanks!

I went to an open mic here and saw a woman from a small town in Texas sing “At Last” by Etta James. I was completely transfixed. The house band were really cool people and I saw a lot of talented guitar players and drummers do their thing in style. A lot of very dope blues and rock&roll was played. The quintessential Austin nightlife experience. And there was no cover!

Had a great time. The live music was cool. We just hung out for a little while and had some food and chill. Nice place.

We stopped in here on a Wednesday and a Thursday night in March. It's a run of the mill bar on a popular music venue Street in austin. We didn't eat there just ordered drinks. Nothing special. The music was average or below. Having been on similar streets Nashville, New Orleans, and Memphis we were frankly disappointed in the overall quality of the music up and down the street. In some bars you couldn't hear the vocals. In most cases there might be one or two good musicians in the band and the rest were just average. Perhaps on weekend nights the music is better. Certainly there is better music than this in Austin but Antone's had a fundraiser that night and I didn't feel like paying $1,250 a person to go there and hear Jimmy Vaughn. I would highly recommend voodoo donuts next door however.
