Inside the oldest hotel in Austin, Texas is a bar with plenty of tables and live music. After the loud noise at nearby Firehouse Lounge pushed us out, we were able to snag a table at Driskill Bar. Despite the live music, it was a quieter space. Here's our experience: 1) Drinks: They have plenty of options, including hard cider and different cocktails. Their cocktails range from bitter to sour to sweet. Are hey Austin's best? No, but they are decent. 2) Service: Despite the crowds, our server was very attentive and friendly. 3) Space: It's inside a historic 1886 hotel so it all feels very old school and regal

Great drinks, nice and friendly staff, historic environment and tasty appetizers.. you have to try the pretzel and the BBQ Board is a great meal for two. Nice place for a first date and a great place to celebrate πŸŽ‰

We came for restaurant week(s) and were not disappointed! The Driskill always has unique flavors with their dishes. I will say my favorite dish was the dessert: the brioche bombolini! Just very unique donuts with lots of fun sides like a bubblegum foam and raspberry sauce. Thank you, Emily!

Great hotel bar with live music in the evening. Has a cool Texas theme to it. We had a few cocktails and appetizers. Everything tasted great and wasn’t terribly priced for being in a hotel

Great drinks in a setting that is almost museum-like but still relaxed. The bartenders were all super helpful and knowledgeable. Went two nights in a row while I was only in town 3 nights. I didn't get a chance to try the food but I heard really good things from several people I was with.

Kenneth, Sawyer and Gabriel were the best. Fast fun and fully capable staff... I would send any new visitors to Austin specifically on their shift if if knew what it was...I'm left to assume the entire staff is equally reputable! When I come back, and I will...friends will be with me

The drinks and food were great! Service may have been a bit slow, but not enough to bother us and our server was very attentive to our needs. The live music was really nice and the musicians were skilled.

A unique piece of Austin and Austin history. While pricey, still some of the best and easy to access cocktails downtown. No reservations needed like some of the other cocktail bars. So come, enjoy the great live music, rustic furniture, and great staff. At the very least, it's a great reprieve from Dirty 6th.

This is probably the nicest bar in Austin, TX and one of the few more upscale places you might actually see people dressing up a bit more and not wearing flip flops... although you might still see people in here with flip flops. This space has a fantastic ambiance along with often having live music and they provide excellent service here in a very comfortable and classically elegant environment.

What used to be a delightful experience is now a place to which I will never return. Had reservations but table not ready until 20 minutes later. Food miserable, menu limited and so noisy we couldn’t enjoy a nice meal even if it had been served. Stay away.

I went to the bar, it's an amazing hotel to see. The lobby was beautiful. The bar was great. I loved it.

This is the most comfortable and most beautiful bar I have been to. You definitely know you are in Texas when you are here. The leather couches and the big Long Horn on the wall add to it's stunning decor. The food was great and the service was wonderful too! We enjoyed our time here. πŸŒŸπŸ‘]

My wife and I love the historic hotel bar here. Good service, good food, good times 😊 We had the local IPA beer which was tasty and the bartender knows how to pour a beer correctly with a nice head of foam. The smoked wings and seasoned fries were tasty. There are lots of great places to visit around that area. Will visit this place again πŸ˜‹

Love the bar here! IThe food was good, the vibe was perfect and it was super fun because South by Southwest is this weekend and there was a very diverse crowd! Also, it definitely has the haunted vibe if you’re into that kind of thing.

Righ off the congress ave. This place has some amazing architecture. Def recommend a quick stop for some solid cocktails or a bit to eat. My Old fashioned was really good, but a bit pricy at 14$ per.

Nice to check out an historic hotel like the Driskill - the decor in the bar has really been maintained well. They had very pleasant live music when we visited. Great cocktails; bar snacks were decent (good selection; quality kinda average). There seemed to be too few staff, so they were super nice but service was slow.

Four stars only because the bar wasn't amazing. I really love the bakery for brunch and the hotel is amazing! Easy five stars for the hotel....the bar seating area is super nice and they have live music (I actually forgot I was in Austin and not fort worth-it really feels like a fort worth kind of place). The drinks were ok and the ambiance is ok but I expected a little more out of the Driskill. It's still an awesome place to try as it stays a little quieter, I just wasn't blown away

Was pleasantly surprised at the super level of service, both at the bar and by the wait staff. Food was very good, everyone really enjoyed themselves. Great live music that was eclectic - C&W and sixties jazz.

This place is an annual stop for us. It's an absolutely fantastic and chill place to get drinks. Even though it's right near 6th Street, it's the exact opposite of what you'll find there.

The Driskill Bar and dining room is a great atmosphere. Our server was kind and we got our food fairly fast. The chicken caesar salads were delicious and the lettuce was very fresh. The Pork Belly tacos were nice and tender. And as we were eating, to our surprise we saw a band setting up to perform! Would go back again and recommend to everyone

The Driskill Bar is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G! OK??? We walked in and felt and joked about being on the Titanic. Because that's what it looks like. It's very classy and pretty. We had a huge party and the waitresses were amazing. They were very patient and kind. And they are also very pretty. All of them! Ideal for weddings or other big celebrations.

Everything you would want from a historic hotel bar. It’s a beautiful, old-timey, bar that can serve you a top notch craft cocktail. Lots of seating for relaxing and enjoying company. Saw a piano so I’m assuming they have live music which is a must in Austin. Bartenders were personable. My only complaint would be the bar itself isn’t very big. I prefer sitting at the bar, and I did get a seat there this visit, but I might not next time.
