Made reservation in OpenTable for 8pm on a Friday. We were seated right away. As soon as we got to the table we ordered a few drinks from the bar. The drinks took over 30 minutes to get to us :( Then we ordered the appetizers which also took about 20-30 minutes to get to our table. The scallops were really tender and tasty. The calamari was also crispy and cooked to perfection. For the main course, we ordered the steak and lobster. The waitress recommend the fried lobster over the grilled, which seemed strange due to the fact we ordered calamari for the first course (so we already ate something fried that evening). The filet minion was cooked to perfection and extremely tender, that was the best part of the meal! Also ordered the lobster Mac and cheese which was amazing with a strong taste of Gruyère. The entire dining experience took about 2 hours in total. The food was good, maybe exceptional, but the amount of time we waited for everything was not worth it. You are paying the big bucks to eat here for a reason :(

My sister and I are taking our girls to Miami for a little vacay. So to make a short story long, instead of flying out of San Antonio, we saved a few bucks and are flying out of Austin. Hungry and wanting a delicious steak, my sister suggested Bob's Steakhouse. With no reservation, we took a chance and walked to Bob's from our room at the JW Marriott. We got lucky, there was a table out on the patio and the temperature was perfect. We ordered a strawberry daiquiri, a strawberry mojito and two lemonades. We ordered some fresh bread with butter that held us over until our meal came out. A 9oz prime filet mignon, medium well with a baked potato, carrots, and a shared Mac & cheese and spinach w/mushroom. All I can say is if heaven had a taste this is what it would taste like!!

Bob's is awesome. Here's why. 1: the atmosphere is cool. Alot of cool things to read about their flags on the wall. 2: our Server (capital S!) was Craig. He is a pure professional. And his service and advice made our evening stupendous. Ask for him, and wait if you need to. 3: the food. Had a family of 4, 2 kids and 2 adults. Had 2 filets, a ribeye and NY strip. All perfectly cooked (please, without talking about it, I know a lot about this) and he had a LED light to make sure I saw my steak in the best light! We devoured them quickly. Having a light to make sure I was satisfied was over the top for me. 4: Craig recommended my meal to me. Asked what I like and DELIVERED. Who needs a menu with that guy?!?! 5: they have a second floor dining room that is open to the outside, lookong over 6th st. Come on! It's an amazing view, atmosphere, and they have a full bar crew there to make it perfect. Ask for Amber up there! Lastly, the restrooms are an experience in cleanliness and aromatic aromas. I actually chilled in there with my son and just rested a moment... Yeah, it's like that. OK, it's is expensive to most people's tastes. I get that. It's easily $125 a person, kids or adults. This was a treat for us, coming from Phoenix for F1 we knew what we were getting into. That being said, it was WORTH EVERY PENNY. Also, the portions are big, so as a couple you can get out of there pretty 'cheap'. That being said, This is an Austin destination. Not just a restaurant. Plus when you walk out, you have the world at your fingertips. 6th St. is a playground! Enjoy and tell Craig, "Matt from AZ sent you!"

Bobs is a restaurant I've frequented countless times. This time, however, my experience was surprisingly subpar. It's disheartening to visit a high-end establishment, spend nearly half a grand, and receive service that doesn't meet the expected standard for this type of restaurant. My server, regrettably, seemed disinterested in providing us with a genuine dining experience. At one point, when my husband inquired about the cheesecake, her response was lackluster, almost as if she were withholding her true opinion. As we finished our meal, the situation highlighted our disappointment. I was holding our baby, my husband carried the car seat and our food, my six-year-old was responsible for our backpack, and near the exit stood a tall man and a young woman. One would expect that common decency should prompt them to open the door, especially seeing that our hands were full. However, they looked at us without offering any assistance. The occasion for our visit was to celebrate my husband's recent promotion, a detail I had mentioned in the notes. Surprisingly, not one person acknowledged the occasion or congratulated him. It was these personal touches and the genuine warmth that I've come to expect from Bob's in the past. The level of service and attention to detail that we encountered during this visit did not meet the high standard we've come to associate with Bob's. I must express my deep disappointment with the experience.

Probably my least favorite steakhouse, not just in Austin. The mashed potatoes were sweet. It tasted like they boiled the potatoes and carrots together. The carrot was over cooked, verging on mushy. The Tomahawk had no hint of butter flavor and it needed salt. Several bites were full of gristle. We ate it because it was $150, but the quality wasn’t there. The cheesecake and salad were the best items we had. Server was great. We didn’t feel rushed with our nightcap.

A little pricey but good... The least expensive steak is a 12oz Ribeye for $59. Medium rare was slightly overcooked. They recooked a fresh one that was perfect. Don't know what the giant carrot is about though.

We sat at the bar this time and everyone behind the bar was super friendly, laughing, happy, it made our experience so much better than all the other 100 times we’ve been to a Bob’s. I don’t think I’ll sit regular ever again. From the lead bartender (appreciate the shots, kept us going), to the tall one, the not so tall one..can you tell I didn’t get their names? All of them were super friendly and we could tell they were having fun and providing excellent service. Food amazing as usual, but this time it was special because we got a show with the meal, they are a machine back there!! Loved it, can’t wait to come back!!

This year,  we decided to do something a little nontraditional for Thanksgiving and go out for dinner. It was our daughter's recommendation to visit Bob's, and I am very happy and proud to report that we could not have chosen a better place to celebrate the holiday. We actually arrived about 20 minutes early for our reservation, but were shown right to our table.  Although I am sure this isn't the case during a non-holiday weekend during peak hours. Upon first walking in, the dining room seemed extremely dark, but it shouldn't be much of a surprise as it was mid-afternoon when we arrived. However, shortly after being seated, the lighting seemed very natural. Our waiter was warm, friendly and very attentive.  He offered honest, on point answers to every question asked, and was eager to make a recommendation when asked.  He never seemed overly rushed, and took the time to joke and cajole. The menu is an efficient single page, unlike some establishments that have pages and pages of things, trying to have a full menu of steaks,  a whole menu of seafood, menu of pasta, chicken, and Mexican. Bob's menu is simple and complete with a great selection of signature steaks, several appetizer choices, and a few seafood dishes to balance things out. Tuna tartar and fried lobster were chosen as appetizers, and when they arrived, I knew that we were in for something special. The tuna was soft and mild with an extremely fresh taste.  The fried lobster was light and crispy and perfectly breaded, and was served a mild buttery sauce on the side. The wait for our entrees was not too long and everything delivered was finely plated. Waygu medallions with seared scallops,  blackened redfish with risotto, rack of lamb, and a 45-day dry aged steak were our entrees and I simply do not have adequate works to describe the joy experienced in every single bite. Side dished seem to be an afterthought at many places, but not here.nd whatever you do, you simply must have their signature carrot, Moving on to dessert, carrot cake, pumpkin cheesecake, and creme brulee were wonderfully prepared, but I must say everyone at the table was a bit jealous of my bread pudding. When you are looking for your next special evening out, please give Bob's your consideration.  Everything we encountered was top notch and I am confident you will find it so too

The meal was excellent along with the service by Jackie. The steak was cooked exactly like I wanted. I would recommend for a nice steak dinner.

My first time visiting here and the food was really good. Excellent service to say the least. I had the shrimp scampi meal and it was seasoned to perfection, the shrimp cocktail was really good and fresh. They have THE BEST bread I’ve ever had at a steakhouse. I’ll definitely be returning here on my next visit to ATX.

Went on a recommendation today and was thorough displeased. $360 out the door for 2. $39 for lobster mac and cheese, $100 each for 8 oz “wagyu” fillets that were comparable to Texas Roadhouse at best. Based on the waiters recommendation, we got them cooked medium and my table mates was wildly undercooked. $360 and we sadly commented that we would have had a better meal at In and Out or Shake Shack.

This was not my first time coming to this location but it will definitely be the last. Our server was a sweet girl named Bailey. We were a party of 10 and over $2K spent. Upon removing plates from the table, I simply wanted my husband and my food to be placed in the same box but before I could get my full statement out, the staff member (who was not our server Bailey), " I don't have 8 arms." R-U-D-E. She of course returned and again with a poor attitude. I told her that she was rude and she reiterated that all she said was that she doesn't' have 8 arms. Someone else in my party asked her what her name was. She in turn asked the CUSTOMER what their name was. Again I say RUDE. My husband went to find the manager and speak to him. We would like to think that this has nothing to do with race, but it definitely felt that way. The manager never came to address the table about this situation. While we were not expecting anything to be taken off of the bill, we AT LEAST wanted to be heard and know that the situation was addressed. To top that off, 3 people at the table received their order prepared incorrectly. Overall just not the way I want to spend my money. Again, I expect nothing to come of this, but unless you are feeling like throwing your money away, spare yourself and don't go to this location.

Wonderful atmosphere and services was great. This is a perfect place to celebrate bdays or anniversary. I ordered the Paloma muddled in jalapeño. I absolutely love the veggie pasta and Brussels sprouts. Will try to remake the cream of corn brûlée!

We have eaten at Bob’s several times and always enjoy the experience. Every steak we have ordered has come out exactly as it was ordered. Love the complimentary bread. Fried calamari, seared scallops and onion rings are the best appetizers. Excellent wedge salad as well. Highly recommend!

Oysters from the east coast were awesome. 10 oz filet cooked medium rare was one of the best in Austin. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Surprisingly great desserts: Peanut Butter and Chocolate Brownie Sundae--"off the chain" according to my husband. 2nd fave is bread pudding. Carrot cake was okay--icing was delish. We ONLY got desserts

Was very surprised how good everything was. This place has a great atmosphere, high end food, and makes you feel welcomed! I don't usually give 5 stars but this is well deserved.

Good food and fantastic service with attentive waiters, but I just wasn't impressed by the dining experience. Interior was incredibly dark, creepy (not romantic) lighting. Decor was very generic/sports bar-esque. The steaks were good and tender, but it didn't feel particularly special. I've been to a fair number of steakhouses in Austin and you can definitely find a better, more unique restaurant with more interesting food. Try Capital Grille for another chain in the same price range with better interior ambiance. Vince Young or the UT club are also better options in the same price range. Went here because it's the only place we could get reservations within the same week at a reasonable hour.
